This is a great store for hard-to-find specialty diet, cultural foods and snacks. This feels like a hybrid between Whole Foods and Lassens only this store carries less vitamins and body care items. I was both surprised and delighted to see there were Keto friendly items and they even carry a Keto All-Purpose flour I have been wanting to try. They had a few varieties of Carbonaut breads and pizza crusts in their freezer section. They carry Santa Barbara cookies, a great self-serve coffee beans section and lots of gluten-free and vegan options. Some of the prices are comparable to Whole Foods but some were even higher. Most common items sell for $2-3 more than what you would pay for at Sprouts or Vons. This is a convenient location to my home close to The Ave and I can see how this would be a great place to shop when making a special recipe. This market is almost too good to be true. But bruh, I'm telling you, it's true. First off, they have an astonishingly huge selection of products I've never seen before, and they're products that I am eager to try. Every aisle is loaded with interesting items that will stop you dead in your tracks. I could easily spend an hour just tripping on products here. Actually, I have. A couple times. lol. But the main reason I love Ventura Ranch Market is that they have, without question, the best selection of potato chips you will find anywhere in Ventura. In addition to the city's best selection of the always great Boulder brand potato chips (even more than Sprouts), Ventura Ranch Market carries Taco Works Chips from San Luis Obispo. Those Taco Works Chips are fire, Yo. But as good as those chips are, they don't come close to the exalted excellence of the magnificent Torres brand Chips, imported from Spain. Ventura Ranch Market has a fantastic selection of Torres Chips. They have my favorite flavors, like Iberian Ham, and Mediterranean Herbs. They also have some flavors I've never seen, like Fried Egg, and Caviar. Honestly, I would try any flavor of Torres Chips, I don't care how weird they might sound. Those chips are freaking excellent. Ventura Ranch Market also carries my current favorite brand of Tortilla Chips, La Rosa. They're nice and thick and fried a little darker than most major brand commercial totopos. I like that. Another super great thing about this amazing little market is they carry Rosa Brothers Milk in glass bottles. I love milk in glass bottles! Especially Chocolate milk. Well, Ventura Ranch Market has Chocolate flavored Milk, Banana flavored Milk, Root Beer flavored Milk and even more flavors that I can't remember. So many flavors! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention they offer complimentary coffee and cookies here. First time I saw it I was like, oh, that's a nice thing to do for the Grand Opening. Stopped off at Ventura Ranch market to see what it was all about, it's a full service supermarket with a small selection of just about everything you need. I was able to grab everything I needed for a recipe here and more. The only down side is since it's a small solo business the pricing for the groceries is noticeably higher than if you went to a big box grocery store. Handy for the quick grabs but not sustainable for everyday shopping if you have a budget. read more

Amaaaazing new market in midtown right on the corner of Chrisman and main! Ventura ranch has a great selection of anything you could ever want and need. I've been stopping in at least 2x a week since they've opened and it's bright, clean, and beautiful. They offer local brands (Santa Barbara cookie company!), tons of organic brands (including Cadia which is available at a reasonable price point), and so many fun drinks (flavors of liquid death I haven't seen carried at other grocery stores!). They also carry lunch sized sandwiches from Peiranos - the turkey pesto is delicious. Staff is super nice - I've called in and they're kind enough to check their stock for me...and they also write down anything they don't have so they can consider stocking in the future! Such a great addition to this neighborhood. I didn't know what to expect when I was walking in, and I was crossing my fingers they had a produce section. Well I was pleasantly surprised it is a whole market! They also have a lot of items that you don't see at other markets. Whoever the buyer is, is doing a really good job with the variety and bringing in specialty items. There was a nice selection of Asian ingredients, Italian pastas and sauces, some jams and other snacks. You can find your conventional brands also. The store was clean and well organized. Upon walking in, there is a set up with complimentary coffee. Penny helped me at check out and she was so kind and helpful. She genuinely showed gratitude for me choosing to shop there. If you have everything been to Oak View, they are affiliated with the Ojai Ranch Market there. Penny did say that they are looking to expand certain areas of the store. So be on the lookout for new products. Overall, I was very happy with my experience and I am excited to go back and wander the aisles to see what goodies I can find. read more

The store is clean showing pride of purpose and the ownership is focused on providing the variety and quality of merchandise that the community wants. If you don't find something, they'll order it. My passion is cooking with globally sourced as well as local fresh ingredients and I saw a variety of small local brands to try from baked goods and exotic sauces & spice blends to our locally distilled spirits. They have Rosa Brother's milk, which is award-winning. They have a lot of wine and other spirits to choose from. This is basically a grocery store with everything you need from bags of ice, milk, vegetables, frozen foods, bread, etc. They have a lot of jams and honey too! The produce is extremely fresh and priced really well. The staff is so kind as-well. I was over charges for some magos I had purchased and I went in over a week later and they refunded me no questions asked. I also like that they have a little bit of everything. My daughter goes to Cabrillo so it is just perfect. read more

First off I LOVE the location. Super close to my house haha. They carry items that I have to go to stores further away just to get my hands on. Like the large sized Muir Glen or Volcanic waters. I really like having a local grocery store that is much closer and that still carries items I use often. The store was very organized and clean too. Very well stocked new market with friendly staff and unique items you won't find at the big chain stores.

Tomatoes were $0.50/lb and onion were $1.39/lb, but they charged $1.49/lb and $1.99/lb respectively. This is not the first time this has happened. I was over charged and when I told the woman at counter, she gave me a few coins whereas tomatoes alone were over $2.50. Not going there again and warning everyone to check their receipts when paying. read more
