When I first opened the box I immediately wanted to eat it because it was both "pretty" presentation wise and it looked delicious as well - and the looks lived up to the taste because this was really a flavor packed yet perfectly balanced pie! Say hello to my (current) favorite pizzeria. Whenever my workplace wanted to order a pizza lunch, I noticed the same name was always bandied about - Cassie's. And even as a takeaway order, it was consistently delicious. I've since made several visits to the actual location, and it's regularly a hit. The bread that comes out at the start of a dine-in meal is such a gift. I love that it's served warm, and it's a hearty serving. It's a lucky thing that the food always comes out so quickly, or else I'd be filling up all my stomach space with it. The pizzas are fantastic. Categorically, I'd place them close to a Neapolitan, which is actually not my favorite type of pie but it's done really, really well here. I don't know if it's the fresh mozzarella or the fresh crust (in fact, this is the only place where I'd happily finish all my crust pieces, they're so good), but everything tastes like quality. I especially love how they serve up their meatball toppings, which are thick hunks of well-seasoned meat and well worth the tuppence they cost. The pizza's not the only star here. I'm not sure why, but there's something about the Caesar salad here that spanks my sweet taste buds. All of their salads come in two sizes - individual ($13) and family ($28). I find that to be pretty pricey for a salad, but when I ordered an individual salad to share with my husband during my last visit, it was a decently sized plate of salad for both of us. I came here for a work lunch. The restaurant is in the heart of downtown Englewood. Street parking is tricky but there is a garage near by. I ordered the pasta and salad lunch combo and ordered a Caesar salad with vodka pasta. I forgot to take a picture of the salad but it was huge! I could barely eat my pasta, which also was delicious and creamy and had to pack it for later. I've gotten takeout from Cassie's Pizzeria before and had decent experiences, so I decided to dine in with a small group before a local event. The place was very busy, so I didn't mind being patient with the staff. My group placed our drink and food orders, including a pitcher of red sangria. However, over 20 minutes later, we still didn't have the pitcher and had to flag down the server just to get water. When the sangria finally arrived, it was disappointing--completely bad, which was frustrating after such a long wait. My SO ordered wings as an appetizer, and they never came out. Three of us received our meals, but two of the cauliflower pizza crusts were cold, somehow both burnt-looking and undercooked. One group member didn't get their meal until 15 minutes later, making the whole dining experience even more disjointed. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had all year. Eventually, the wings and the last meal came out together, but at that point, it didn't matter. The server did inform us that we'd receive a discount for the mistakes, which I appreciated, but overall, this visit was a disaster. I'll be avoiding Cassie's going forward. read more

In my top 3 restaurants of all time, this place is special. Their pizza is perfection: it is fresh, the sauce is just the right amount of sweet, and it is super light.. I can accidentally eat 5 slices and not even feel like I did. My favorite menu item is the Cassie's Chopped Salad which is also so fresh and it is delicious with plentiful toppings. The experience is what makes this place even better. There is never a wait and the dining room is very specious so you're never on top of other people. I tend to pop in every few years thinking I'm going to experience better but it's still average, with higher cost. For example, a small penne vodka is nearly $25 when ordered via Grubhub for pickup. In the heart of Englewood is a hidden gem that has been there for years, I had to try some apps! I got the meatballs that came with a little side of ricotta which was perfect for dipping, they were succulent and delicious. Hostess responded with yes, after checking with someone in the back area. We started to order and were told "kitchen is half cleaned up already so preparation is only for what's still available." This means IT DID NOT GET PLACED IN THE TRASH YET... YOU CAN HAVE IT. My chicken francese was terrible, not even cafeteria grade. Wife's chicken parm was a tough chew as was mine. Bread tasted stale no flavor, Ragu was dumped on my wife's sandwich and Campbell cream of chicken soup was poured on mine. The kids pizza appeared thrown together sloppy with burnt crust. Hostess was friendly and accommodating other than that the entire staff was in "leaving mode" a lot of movement in preparation for closing time. Ambiance was typical pizza establishment with adequate seating and flatscreens to entertain. Food and Service quality should never be sacrificed for no reason. I actually thought that I had finally found a place that would just properly cook a pizza that I didn't have to put in the oven when it got delivered. Cassie's is located in Englewood and has easily become my go to spot for pizza and pasta. You can't go wrong with any of their pizzas and they can also customize it. I ordered the individual chicken parm pizza but asked for vodka sauce instead of marinara. The carbonara, penne vodka, and rigatoni alla toscana have been on rotation in my house. You can customize by adding your choice of protein. The individual portions are HUGE and could easily feed 2-4 people when coupled with an appetizer or pizza. I've only ordered take out thus far but I can say the staff has been friendly on the phone and when I go in to pick up. Food is good, problem is and has always been service. Male staff crowds the bar and hostess station speaking to the females. Always feels like there's only I person waiting on the entire restaurant. I was there with my family (5), and besides the people at the bar there were 2 couples and a group of 6 dining. We got our food and barely got napkins. My 5 year old spilled her drink on her, thankfully it was seltzer, and barely got a glance or someone to come over and see if everything was alright. Even though she was crying from the shock. Was in the Englewood area and was in the mood for pizza for dinner. Yelped led me to this spot and after checking the reviews and pics, decided to give it a go. There was a parking area next to the restaurant which we did not need to pay for (not sure if it was just that night). Once we entered we were greeted by a waiter and sat us down to our table. It wasn't crowded although there was another dining area in the back. We ended up ordering a large pie with Half Grilled Chicken and other half BBQ Chicken. The bbq chicken does not come with tomato sauce so that was the reason we got half grilled chicken which came with the sauce. The pizza was solid. Seemed to be all fresh ingredients. Owner Andy is super personable and the server Marianna really puts all her best in taking care of you. Which says a lot, it's a big place for one girl to be running the floor, so props to her! With that said, I did have to wave around for service several times. Given she's the only woman on the task to bus the food and serve customers, I can oversee it. The food itself is tasty. The salad was crisp and the portobello tasted fresh. As for the egg parm? Depending on how hungry you are, this is standard American Italian fare. I've been to Cassie's throughout the years, but honestly haven't been there for a few years. Not really sure why I stopped going... however with the Covid-19 pandemic, and dining more locally, I'm not really sure why I stopped! I needed several pies of pizza for an event (ordered 12 total) and they were ready for pick up at the specified time, still warm and fresh, and stayed delicious throughout the car ride back and by the time it was served. We even had a couple slices left over, and they reheated perfectly the next day. Come to think about it, I've never had anything that wasn't delicious from Cassies. Their wings are good (even during Superbowl season, they are prompt and delicious), their salads are good, even their pastas are good! And, in my opinion, the cherry on top to Cassie's pizza pies is that they use fresh mozzarella instead of the pre-shredded stuff that some other places use. We were a group of 18 coming for lunch on Sat after my mom's Memorial gathering. They were able to seat us all inside at a giant table because Covid restrictions had lifted a bit in mid-May. I made all the reservation details from down in FL. I grew up in NJ but hadn't been back in 40+ years. We started with family size apps of calamari, wings, garlic shrimp, and cheese sticks. I have eaten here many times over the years and enjoyed the pizza. But tonight as I sat down with a friend at our booth in Cassie's, I went to undo the tape around my cutlery and a cockroach came tumbling out. It ran across the table as my friend grabbed a napkin to kill it. we made a bit of a commotion as we were both horrified and disgusted. The bus boy (man) came over and we showed him the dead roach we just killed. He took the tissue, said nothing and walked away. The dark haired man working at the bar saw what happened, as I looked at him and he looked me in the eye. He did nothing. The waitress didn't come over to ask what was wrong. We got up and put on out jackets, and when the manager strolled out (I guess no one bothered to let him know 2 guests had a problem) , I told him what happened and he actually had a bit of a grin on his face. He didn't seem surprised or horrified, so I guess they have roaches there and are used to it. I stated I would never come back. He didn't seem too concerned. Makes me wonder what the kitchen and prep area look like and how many roaches are back there. DISGUSTING. And the lack of concern was appalling. I always get the rigatoni alla toscana on delivery and it's really good but today when I got it delivered it was super watery and they gave me a different bread than usual.
