Wow, do I trust them!…read more I was referred to this shop from Charles at Kim's Body Shop who's done great work on our car so really trusted their recommendation. We've been taking our BMWs (we've had 2) to the dealership because it's just very simple and straightforward. But, after our warranty ended and feeling like we should shop around a little bit for service/price since the dealership can cost more, really glad we found this shop. Have worked with both Michael and Dennis and they've been really helpful and thorough. Michael spent 15minutes with me at least to help me understand what needed to be done and estimated cost and Dennis helped check if something were under my warranty. I feel so much better finding this shop and not feeling ripped off and being able to ask all of the stupid questions without feeling like I'm wasting someone's time. Definitely feel like I can trust them so thanks Michael and Dennis!

Here's my take on Silicon Valley Bimmer…read more I actually didn't end up getting any work done there -- and that's exactly why I'm writing this review. I scheduled time to bring in my M3 for what I thought was a preventative repair. Like most places, I expected a quick inspection followed by a quote and a recommendation to move forward. Instead, they took a completely different approach. They walked me through everything in detail, explained what they were seeing, and were very transparent about whether the repair was actually necessary. In my case, they told me it wasn't needed at this time. That level of honesty is rare. Most shops would have just done the work or pushed for it, but these guys clearly operate with integrity. They took the time to educate me, answer my questions, and make sure I understood the "why" behind their recommendation. There was zero pressure -- just straightforward, honest guidance. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and long-term relationships, not just making a quick sale. That kind of approach builds trust immediately. Because of that experience alone, they've earned my business going forward. I will absolutely be bringing my car back here when I do need work done, and I've already recommended them to several friends. If you're looking for a shop that knows BMWs, communicates clearly, and treats you with respect, Silicon Valley Bimmer is the place. These guys are great -- honest, knowledgeable, and professional.

I had already done my own diagnostics before drop-off -- swapped the coil pack and spark plug to other cylinders, misfire stayed on cylinder 2, ruling both out. He quoted $600 over the phone using his own parts, which I agreed to. When I showed up, he pulled a bait-and-switch: he would only honor the $600 price if I supplied my own part. I had an OEM Bosch fuel injector at home but hadn't brought it because the original agreement was that he would supply parts. He knew this and still changed the terms at drop-off, forcing me to go home, retrieve my own part, and return -- just to hold him to a price he had already quoted. I told him directly: I do not want this injector thrown in if it isn't confirmed as the cause. I want the misfire fixed. He acknowledged this. He then told me it was 90% likely the coil or plug -- the exact two components I had already tested and eliminated. He installed my injector anyway without confirming it was the fault. It didn't fix the misfire. The quote continued to change. $600 on the phone became $650 in person. He then added carbon cleaning and quoted $900 total. Later he texted $1,000. I had to remind him of his own quote -- he agreed and admitted he didn't remember what he said. I wrote "Cyl 2 misfire" on the work order as the service requested and signed it. He called at 2:25pm saying the car was fixed. I paid $900 and drove home with the engine stumbling worse than before. Scanned the car at home -- P0302 still active and confirmed. A new fault code also appeared that was not present before drop-off. I returned to the shop in good faith and gave them the opportunity to make it right before taking any further action. They refused. $900 paid. My own part used. Bait-and-switch on parts and price. Explicit instructions ignored. Misfire unresolved. Car running worse. BAR complaint filed.

The team here are total experts when it comes to Zs and I wish I had a chance to meet more of them before all this crazy Covid-19 stuff happened, the garage is super clean and it's clear the guys are like clockwork being able to multi-task around a wide breadth of Modern and Classic Nissan/Datsun cars. My favorite memory is seeing a R32 being flatbedded into the garage and the owner profusely apologizing for whatever happened to the car. Rob was super calm and re-assuring to the owner and it was clear Rob was confident he could fix the car and that he cared a lot about the car and owner. What a guy! I had extensive upgrades to the car done including a 3.1-stroker engine-swap, full suspension upgrades, and full brakes upgrades in addition to 6 full pages of other details! ZCG have their own engineered parts which are considered the very best in the industry for 240s including the brakes and CV axles, these will be a great upgrade for your vintage ride. Very impressed with the attention to detail and just how amazing the car performs an handles. My biggest tip for new customers is patience, the shop is very popular and Rob is the one who checks emails and voicemail. He is always in the shop and busy so keep comms short and sweet. It all started for me with a cold-call and I always tried to be respectful toward all the ZCG guys and not freak out if I wasn't getting replies super fast. For thorough restomods the wait will be worth it, trust me.

I went to investigate and it was near the oil filter housing it attaches to. drove it to Exact motorsports to have them evaluate, and Sandy & John were helpful in diagnosing the problems. They seem to be very knowledgable with the toyota/lexus platform. They gave me a reasonable quote and I left the car with them. They also mentioned it was probably due for new spark plugs, and a new valve cover gasket so I had them throw that in there as well. When I picked up the car, it drove much more efficiently and no more leaks! Turns out it was a broken O ring. I enjoyed that experience, so a year later (Nov 2025) my belt was squeeking a lot in cold weather. They were able to diagnose and swap the belt to a new one within a day or so. No more squeeks in the cold mornings. The best part about exact is that its a mom and pop, locally owned shop that doesnt put you in a upsell, pressure environment. They tell you what you need, what you dont need, and what are nice to do but not urgent so you can make your choices for the best quote. I will be going to them for any future needs for my Lexus, and have been recommending them to my friends and family for the same purposes.

Sandy is very knowledgable on what type of maintenance is needed on a car. She always give you an option of using OEM or quality aftermarket parts, and provide quotes so you can compare and find what's best for your needs. One time I noticed my engine coolant reservoir to be completely empty. I emailed Sandy for advice, and she fit me in the next day and advised me to buy Toyota coolant and top it off before driving. After dropping off the car, they immediately found the radiator is cracked and needs to be replaced. They ordered parts and replaced the same day. They even help arranged a ride to a nearby car rental shop. They truly go above and beyond for their service. My first review was about replacing struts. I went with Sandy's recommendation of using aftermarket struts (KYB brand). 10 years later, I can positively vouch for her recommendations. The strut has held up well over time.

I went straight to the aisle, not knowing what I was looking for.
