When I finally heard my name called, I walked up to the counter and saw two drinks sitting there. Since neither was labeled, I politely asked the barista which drink was which. Instead of simply helping me, she responded, "I haven't made yours yet," with a pretty obvious attitude. It was an unnecessarily rude interaction and definitely didn't make me feel welcome. I went back to my seat and ended up waiting another five minutes for our drinks. And unfortunately, the coffee itself didn't make up for the wait. I ordered the salted maple latte, and my husband had the French vanilla latte. Both were mediocre at best and left us pretty underwhelmed. Overall, I really wanted to like this place, especially because of its cute atmosphere and convenient location. But between the long wait, burnt pastry, unfriendly service, and disappointing coffee, our first experience was not a good one. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

I've been working down there for the past few months and have ended up buying a cup of coffee everyday. Thought I would look for a different place. Read a review that said coffee was recently priced and service was good stopped in Cafe is attached to the hotel walked in the lobby the girl behind the counter was making a drink for one of the other employees. Didn't say hi to me or I'll be with you in one moment like you would expect at most other places. No big deal. The crazy part is that after she handed the other employee their drink she didn't even look up at me or acknowledge my presence and I was standing right there in front of the cash register behind the other employee. I know I was standing there for over a minute because I read your entire menu and paid attention to some of the people that were in the cafe, watched the other employees stocking drinks. When the girl handed the other employee her drink I was standing right there. She didn't look at me . A guy standing right in front of the register . She kind of focused on the work counter for a minute and then walked into the back. None of the other employees acknowledged me either so I was left there standing at the counter and it just really bothered me. I feel like service quality has dropped off of a cliff since covid and the demand for tips has gone insane. When I was waiting tables and working at a coffee shop if I had ever done that to a customer I would have been fired. I'm not trying to get this girl fired but I am taking my time to Leave a negative review because I had to waste my time going across the freeway to cool down coffee which actually had a very nice Vibe inside although the coffee was slightly more expensive. Many times when people write reviews they are kind of picky and expect a high level of service. I am not that person. I don't need to be handheld. I don't need a bunch of fake conversation and smiles. I just need for you to get me my food check on me once during the meal and give me my check. When I'm going to get a cup of coffee I almost prefer a gas station because at least I won't be asked to tip 20% for you to pour me a cup of coffee. What I'm trying to convey here is that this was not an overreaction, this was straight up negligence as in I came to buy a cup of coffee and I couldn't do it so you lost business and you get a one-star review. I don't write many reviews and I don't normally take the time to point out things like the hotel and Cafe are not particularly cool or well done even though they are trying to be. I LOVE this cafe! It is attached to the Rambler Motel but not to be fooled it is open to the public. I have come to the Rambler Cafe several times now and everything I have tried is delicious. I am no expert on coffee but the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and helps me make the best choices depending on what I am feeling that day! They also have lots of choices for breakfast, lunch and snacks in the cold case that they make fresh daily. So far my favorites are the Hibiscus iced tea with a splash of lemonade and the build your own croissant sandwiches. They also have AMAZING giant rice crispy treats that the Cafe manager makes herself. In the Cafe lounge area they also have retro arcade games, 70's music and the decor is super cute.
