THE BEST OREO FRAPPE/MILKSHAKE! Although I do admit I didn't get the true experience because I went through drive-thru, I would give this cute lil shop a 5/5! The coffee is fantastic. That being said, I'm sick of paying WAY TOO MUCH (higher than Starbucks) and not getting a full cup of coffee. This has become the norm. I haven't had a sip yet. This is how much they give you for a large. I didn't pay for a medium in a large cup...oh wait. That's exactly what I did. The lady at the drive through in the mornings is so great. She's always so sweet, but the lack of coffee for what you pay isn't worth it. Update... the owner has reached out to me and has let me know he will speak with the baristas. The staff was downright rude which I was quite surprised about since this was Tennessee. Tried to rectify the situation with the manager on site to no available. i got in the drive through this morning at 11:30, with two cars ahead of me. ordered a latte and a croissant. around 20 minutes after i got in line it was my turn at the window, which isn't ideal but not a big deal. about five minutes after i paid, the girl at the window really rudely asked me what i ordered. eventually i got the coffee and told her i was just waiting for the croissant. 10 more minutes goes by and at this point the cars in line behind me are going around me to drive away. i finally just took the loss and drove away too, even though i'd paid for the croissant, because it was like 12:15 at this point. definitely not coming back. read more

Every time I have to make a trip out East I always stop here to get a London Fog! They make the best hot tea specialty beverages! They are soooooo good and the customer service is above and beyond! I went through the drive-though yesterday morning and the person who took my order and handed me my drink was so super nice. The coffee was excellent. What a cute little coffee shop! A bit on the small side though...but you don't notice it if you use the drive-thru! They have delicious coffee, tea, and baked goods. I always get the bagel and cream cheese (which they WILL toast for you...unlike some places...) and a soy green tea latte. A tad expensive...but the same as Starbucks. Oh! I'm so happy ugly mug opened up in memphis! I've been a fan since I visited their store in nashville. I've only had their peppermint mocha, but boy is it good! I love that they will do slow drip or anything else for you if you request it. It doesn't have to be on the menu! Just ask them what they have available or if they have any specials available for the day. Its a small store (takes the place of poplar n perk), but there are small round tables for you to do work on, and also this bar/stool type table surrounding the windows as well. I love the tile they have on their ordering counter! The owner (i presume) was there the night I went as well. He is incredibly friendly and helpful! Will be back to drink through their menu! They have coffee, specialty drinks, and lattes and such. great for non-coffee drinkers as well! read more

My favorite place in town to get an iced latte! If you want something lightly sweet with bold espresso flavor, I highly recommend getting a large iced latte with 1 pump white mocha and 1 pump peppermint - it's DELICIOUS! This is also the most affordable coffee shop in town where you get the most delicious dang for your buck! A word to the owner: I would love to see you guys utilize Instagram more! Posting about specials and different drink offerings would I'm sure drive more interest. Small on space, huge on personality! The inside is full of "ugly" mugs of every kind with a tiny bit of seating. I love that this coffee hut has the convenience of drive thru and the pros of supporting a local roastery- there's no excuse guys, stop going to Starbucks and come here! They're doing wonderful things including supporting fair trade coffee and fully recyclable K cups and the coffee is delicious. I'm no connoisseur of beans but I enjoy their mocha. read more

This past visit, I ordered 1 drink, they gave me 2, charged me for 2, and neither was made properly. So I've only been once but I was in a rush, but I still ran in. I'm used to Starbucks pace, this cafe was faster. I tried the Nitro Latte with buttermoon flavor. I am one of those crazy coffee drinkers that likes plenty of sugar with my coffee. This flavor was so good, didn't need any sugar. Staff was polite, quick and efficient. I love my Ugly Mug! Coffee is so good and they're always super friendly in the drive thru. They have an awesome and interesting menu - their Full Moon Latte is amazing! I had to reluctantly knock off a star because I have now received four drinks (some hot and some cold) where the syrup was loaded at the bottom of the cup. Today I got an iced white mocha with almost half an inch of syrup at the bottom of the cup. The last time that happened I tried but simply could not incorporate the syrup, so today I drove back through. She poured it into a new cup and stirred it and gave me back a drink that now had only a tiny bit of syrup sunk to the bottom... when I pointed that out she told me I just needed to stir it.... Ugly Mug is cute! The coffee is good, and the baristas are great. It's just soooooo small. They have a drive thru, which I imagine is a lot of their business. However, my husband, brother-in-law, and I were killing time until novel. opened and stopped at Ugly Mug for coffees. It's tight. Very few tables, and the tables are really meant for one person, maybe two. It's a good coffee shop, but definitely one that's better as a drive thru than as a place to stop, enjoy your coffee, and read a book or hang out with friends! read more

They have some of the best tasting coffee in Memphis, but out of all of their baristas only 1 or 2 are friendly. The majority of the time they look as if they just rolled out of bed, put on some dirty clothes with holes in them and "showed up" for work. read more

This is t the first time. Where the mug used to be a special treat now it's an inconvenience for the people who work there. Yes I get there at 6am when they open and I'm sorry I have an early job. But sitting here waiting and waiting while umbrellas are being put out and more instead of a quick coffee or even one min. Anything besides looking at me like I'm inconvenient.
