I stopped by here while I was out in Stockton volunteering. I'm always on the go and I'm constantly looking for simple, affordable food options across the Bay Area, Fairfield, and Stockton. I'm a big fan of teriyaki chicken bowls because they're hearty, high in protein, and honestly one of the best quick meals you can get. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl for myself and my partner and it came out to about $20, which is reasonable these days with inflation. We also grabbed a couple extra items, so total was closer to $25-$30 for two people. Everything was fresh, filling, and tasted great. I also appreciated being able to get sauce on the side since I don't like my food drenched. This place lived up to the hype and didn't disappoint. If I'm back in Stockton, especially for volunteering, I'll definitely stop by again. read more

The chicken was the best part, which was good since I was going for chicken teriyaki:-) Got the chicken and pork combo. Pork was super dry like it had been sitting for a very long time. Not bad flavor, but dry. Vegetables were very al-dente and unseasoned. I love cabbage, but it was rubbery and bland. Sauce was really light flavor. Nothing to write home about but needs a kick. Service was straight to the point. Not particularly friendly, but not mean. Ambience was "old school diner" feel. Which I was cool with. Felt cozy but I did a little throw back :-) Overall I'd suggest just staying with the chicken yaki bowl and definitely add a little sauce and spices if you can. read more

I haven't had Luu's Chciken Bowl since I was a kid, we grew up eating it from their restaurant in the Eastside of Stockton. Recently at work we were talking about getting lunch and someone brought up Luu's, saying they haven't had it in forever either. So we went to the one on Pacific Ave, went through the drive through. Service was quick, prices are actually still pretty reasonable given how long they've been around and everywhere else keeps raising prices. I got the #1 which is the regular chicken bowl, I think it was around $8.95. Comes with the chciken, veggies and rice. We even got some chicken egg rolls. The bowl was good, still worth trying. The egg rolls were ok, I didn't care too much for them but OK. Definitely recommend for a quick lunch for a great price. read more

We have driven by Lulu's chicken bowl for 10 years and yesterday we decided to give it a try. I gotta tell you I was pleasantly surprised! They do not offer a lot of different menu items but what they do offer, they do well. I had a bowl with nice fluffy rice topped with steamed cabbage, carrots, broccoli and grilled chicken. Teriyaki sauce came on the side. I'll be honest the sauce was kind of bland and not my favorite. But I have really good teriyaki sauce at home that lit the dish. It was amazing. I went to LuLu for the first time in two years and I was completely let down and totally disappointed in them. They used to be my favorite restraint I would eat there 5 or 6 times a week. Not have the changed the menu but they down graded the quality they went from real orange chicken to chicken nuggets with an almost orange flavored dipping sauce. Food - 4 stars - love their teriyaki chicken bowl. It's the only reason I would eat here. They have a location in Manteca and that's where I've been going to since the 90's. I'll stop at the Stockton location if I'm in town and craving teriyaki chicken. Quality and taste seems to be the same at both locations. I hardly ever order anything else besides the #1. Customer service - 3 stars - the cashiers working seem like they'd rather be somewhere else. One was on her phone and the other one couldn't even crack a smile or say hello / welcome in. Anyways, don't come here expecting 5 star customer service or even 4 stars. It's not part of their appeal. If you come, come for the food. Atmosphere - mediocre dining area. Nothing special. This establishment, based on pass reviews, was probably worth visiting before. Today its quiet the opposite. Its such an eyesore and going through the drive thru was confusing for a first-timer like myself. We wanted to give it a try in the hopes that it is like those gem spots that appear as hole-in-the-walls. The entire order was marred by an incompetent young lady taking our order and not knowing the menu well. Mid-sentence she would make sounds like she was gasping and talking to someone on the side or just totally oblivious of her job description as someone being paid to take my order and provide me with decent enough service to return and put money into an establishment that was employing and paying her. After many gasps and distracted nonsensical and unhelpful replies to our questions about the food (she did say she was only there for two weeks but Jesus Christ!) we decided to leave not wanting to know what the quality of the food was in a place that had unprofessional employees like that and the place looked unkept. Just ok. Seems to have gone down over the years. Stick to regular teriyaki bowls. The orange chicken was freakishly orange (think highlighter color) and mostly batter not much chicken. The teriyaki wings were flavorless and the teriyaki sauce was super thin and light colored. The good: egg rolls are yummy and crisp and the spicy cabbage (sort of like kimchi) and ginger is nice. I had a craving of semi healthy food, and happened to drive by Luu's so I stopped in. I ordered the double chicken bowl which comes with cabbage, broccoli, carrots and the obvious chicken. Chicken was cooked well and vegetables were cooked perfect! Don't forget to get some hot teriyaki sauce! Not too much sweetness which makes it sooo delicious! And their hot sauce happens to be some of my favorite! I pour 2 containers all over my food especially the vegetables to add a little flavor. Yes, this place isn't a top rated 5 star restaurant, but for the price Luu's hits the spot and cravings! read more

So tonight was an adventure for dinner. I went somewhere else and picked up some food for my son then my daughter ended up wanting that dish. So my son wanted some Orange Chicken from Luu's. We've eaten here a couple of times in the past but mainly we always took the food to go. The staff here is pretty nice and the place is pretty clean. Probably can fit around 20 or so people inside. The strange thing here is the drive-thru window is on the passenger's right side. So you'd have to reach over if you're alone. My three kids love the food here at Luu's Chicken Bowl. So we'll come when we can and get our gun on. I have noticed that we're getting less meat than years past. Hopefully they can fix this problem. If prices go up and less meat. In general it was good and the price was not bad. I loved loved the egg roll and rice didn't care too much for their teriyaki sauce it was strange not running it was more like a jelly texture. Drive through was good no issues , and customer service was good although I didn't get my hot sauce in the bag, so check your bags before leaving. read more

A few days ago My sister and I ordered some fried shrimp plates . When we opened the box up it looked so delicious but when we flipped it over to the other side there was mold on not one but all of the pieces . My sister had ate one without knowing she is currently in the hospital for food poisoning. We contacted the manger left multiple voice mails about what just occurred but no response . The drive thru is weird like people have noted in past reviews it's backwards so the window will be on your passenger side. Very affordable got 3 generous plates for $18. Good deal I might be back some day not anytime soon. I found rice inside one of the teriyaki cups, we didn't use. I noticed it as I was picking it up to toss. Food is just okay. Last time I had the teriyaki chicken combo but their egg roll sauce tasted like some kind of weird ketchup yuck. This location has a drive thru but it's backwards and super awkward unless you have a passenger. Idk how anyone would reach over to the passenger window and be able to reach everything.
