I was craving for ramen and this place is closest to me. Okay I had to admit I did not know it's a vegan restaurant. Hahaa! It's my first time trying vegan food. Anyways, the price was decent-ish. But the broth was so salty to me, first couple sips tasted decent but it kept having the beans after taste which makes it tasted very heavy and did not want to eat the whole thing. The spam and mushroom tasted pretty good.but other than that I just think it's okay.

Garlic ramen. So flavorful and so good.

Here in LA for a work trip and came across this Ramen place and the Garlic ramen was so good. It has rich, creamy flavor.

This is an entirely vegan restaurant I ordered the Tuna Crisps and a Spicy Ramen The crisps were good, it has an interesting texture to it, kinda like a purée. Overall it wasn't too bad but I'd probably try something else next time. The Spicy ramen was pretty good, the broth had good flavor, the noodles seemed a little too mushy for me but weren't bad either. The Mushrooms were a good size and went well with the broth. Overall, if you're vegan it's definitely a solid option, but I'd pass on this if you are able to eat Normal ramen The ambiance is really casual, there's plenty of searing for this restaurant which is a big plus, and staff are helpful with the menu.

Opens at 11AM on Sunday. Luckily I decided to eat here a minute before it opened. This place is a long counter lined with metal stools. There are a couple menus posted near the counter. I ordered the Spicy "pork" Katsu garlic ramen. Did I mention, this is a 100% vegan restaurant? No meat. They sell bottled drinks. Service was efficient and friendly. He asked if I would be eating at the counter. I said yes, so after he put my ramen together, he delivered it to me straight to where I was seated. Chopsticks and napkins on the counter. Ramen tasted better than it looked. Don't make the mistake of dunking the "pork" into the broth as I did. It just makes it soggy. Whatever the two pieces of "pork" was made of, it was fried and tasted pretty good. The noodles were a nice consistency. Aside from the noodles, it included mushrooms, baby bok choy, seaweed, green onions, and the "pork." The broth was spicy the way I like it.

Can't believe this is Vegan! Love the noodles - I think they are Sun Noodles. I do prefer the complexity of flavors found in a pork-based broth though. Lively ambience in Grand Central Market. Fast service. No water offered; only bottled water for purchase available.

Tasty! Very flavorful broth, and thick ramen noodles. Services was great. A nice spot for lunch while at the market. :)

Horrible experience, I hope this place is no more before my next visit to Grand Central Market.

Horrible experience. Told the guy taking my order this is my first time, guy recommended the Spicy Pork Katsu Garlic Ramen. I didn't read the menu and agreed to order the spicy pork katsu garlic ramen. The order came and I thought the pork looks dehydrated. When I put it in my mouth it was chew and not to my liking. I was unable to eat this bowel of ramen since it didn't taste like ramen, more like flavorless vegetable broth. When I asked for a refund on the full bowel; he refused stating I should learn to read and used his hands to indicate it's "PORK". When I asked why he didn't tell me it was vegan he said when guests find out it's vegan they don't order. Truth is I wouldn't have ordered if I knew. NO REFUND given on a full bowl I could not eat and did not eat. The mushroom I tried to chew was spit out. Horrible!!!

Loooved the "tuna" crísps! They were filled with the beats as well and had good flavor, i also got a side of spicy mayo and that really turned it up a notch. This is my second time here and i do enjoy it, i try to try something new each time. They're service is quick and they're helpful! I love that they have bar seating as well. I do wish the tuna bites came with a bit more or were bigger in size

Very good vegan ramen! If you served this to me without telling me it's vegan, I would have thought the broth was a pork bone broth. Broth was very flavorful and noodles were cooked to perfection. Service was fast considering how busy there were. There were only two workers working on a busy Tuesday afternoon, so they were moving around non stop. After ordering at the register, you can either sit at the counter or at a table. We sat at the counter, so we were able to see our bowls being prepared. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good bowl of ramen in downtown LA!

I've been a couple of times and now finally reviewing. While I'm not vegan, I typically order their spicy ramen which is currently $16. It's very good and hearty. Don't miss meat in this ramen as it has plenty of veggies and will keep you full.

Hands down my favorite vegan ramen spot in LA and that is saying a lot. I've had my fair share of vegan ramen in the last few years and coming to Ramen Hood just brought a huge smile to my face. Located inside Grand Central Market, Ramen Hood offers a fully plant-based menu and utilizes predominantly a sunflower seed broth which is very unique. Each bowl was around $15 and you can either eat at the counter (recommended) or ask for takeout and they'll put everything into a nice little package to rebuild wherever you go. During my first visit, I tried their Spicy Garlic Katsu Ramen. The broth was extremely flavorful and packed with umami, and includes OmniPork katsu, bok choy, king oyster mushrooms, and chili threads. The noodles themselves were excellent quality and I gulped down my bowl in what felt like an instant. I loved them so much that I ended up coming back here a second time during my most recent trip in LA. Getting downtown can be a challenge, but it's well worth it for this bowl of ramen itself. Whether you're vegan or not, this bowl is not to be passed up. I've had mediocre non-vegan ramen in my life and this blows all of those bowls out of the park.

Checked out this pretty cool spot in Grand Central Market for noodles and Asian food. It happens to be an entirely plant based menu. Ramen Hood specializes in big bowls of noodles with lots of toppings. Good options if liking things that are hot. The prices really aren't that bad for the big portions. Best place in the market for Asian food. It's close to the main entrance on Broadway, located next to one of the seating areas for the market. This has a long counter if you want to sit there. A lot to choose from. Ramen is the main thing. It's about $15 for a bowl. There's several options if you want it spicy. For sure it can be hot. I got the Spicy Ramen. This is made with a spicy sunflower seed broth, with baby bok choy, bean sprouts, chili threads, mushrooms, nori, and scallions. A couple more bucks to get a vegan egg. They actually really make these. Good place to get noodles and Asian food. It's not that bad as far as prices in the market. The whole thing is great for vegans and vegetarians.

Since the pieces were large, it was slightly awkward to eat without any plates, and I was just catching the crumbs with my hand (didn't have the ramens at the time). Also got a yuzu beer to try and it was delicious, nice yuzu flavor with some tanginess. I had the shoyu with duck while my husband had the yama tonkotsu that came with fragrant black garlic oil. The tonkotsu is not one of those rich, milky, creamy ones and I personally like these lighter ones more. I also enjoyed the shoyu which had a pleasant depth of flavor, but it felt like it was relying too heavily on MSG for umami. Noodles came out chewy. Definitely not the best ramens I've had but are some of the better ones in LA. Our server was friendly, as were the rest of the staff. Service was quick. The restaurant decor feels straight out of Japan, an extra bit of fun. There's a $10 paid lot behind this block of buildings that's convenient for anything in this part of Little Tokyo.

Next up was the omelette with gravy with fried rice that had both shrimp and pork. I feel the egg of the omelette was well made.
