You people here at this business really need to learn how to update your hours of operation. It's not that hard to indicate this on your website or Yelp if your facility is open or not. This is the second time that we drove here and the place is not open. Yelp says they're open but they don't even bother changing their hours or indicating this anywhere. They don't update anything, nor do they care. It's just bad business. We don't live in the area and commute 40 minutes just to get here. This place really needs to work on their communication. It really leaves a bad rep for your business. As loyal customers this problem needs to be fixed. We left messages on their phone, left messages on their Yelp and even texted their number. NO ONE EVEN REPLIED. Last time they said they had a "family emergency" but now I think an ongoing and recurring bs to make up excuses for their failure. BEWARE to customers--you'll end up wasting your time and money and efforts supporting the business if this persists.

The food was very tasty and flavorful. Their portion size will definitely fill you up. I love the vegan Mac salad! It's the best I've had so far. The Musubi was so flavorful. I think it has a Hawaiian sweet sauce that elevates the flavors. I do suggest less rice. I think too much rice takes away from the flavor. Overall, great food!

Perfect texture and saltiness. The catsu is awesome and worth the drive to get. Couldn't say it more. Simplistic kitchen concept with a unique flare!

this place has prob became a go to for us bc it's close, vegan, stays open late, and literally SOOO good like wtf..! it pretty much checks all the boxes. tried the breakfast french toast plate and the potatoes were the best breakfast potatoes i've had in forever. my only thing was that the eggs were very salty but nothing good ol ketchup couldn't fix because i'd def get this plate again. then weeks later, tried the beef bulgogi and fried catsu with curry plate. the absolute STAR was the macaroni salad omg pure mac salad perfection..i could've just ate a plate of that. the rice was the perfect texture and the catsu with the curry was crazy, even the curry poured over rice was a must. i wasn't a huge fan of the bulgogi because of the texture; it was like wet jerky imo but the flavor was there. i just hope this business never disappears! GO SUPPORT VEGAN KITCHENS!

OH.MY.GOODNESS. I am from Hawaii and got so excited when I ran across Lucky Catsu. I can't find local-style vegan food like this at home, so I was shocked when I found it in LA! I tried the spam musubi and mochiko chicken plate...totally blown away by the flavor profiles and how spot-on it was compared to the "real thing". Broke da mouth for sure - mahalo!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The food from here is fresh and has amazing flavor! I always want to go back and try something new since it has always been so good. I always forget to take a picture since I just want to dig in. I have ordered from ubereats and have been in person once and the food is always out pretty quick. The staff are friendly and the area has a nice view while you wait.

There are a plethora of vegan Asian/Polynesian staples, however, I can't really think of more than TWO places that offer specifically Hawaiian food! Diana has wonderful concept here! Bold flavors, big portions, & having customizable options. Her loco moco is outstanding & the very first thing I tried when she had a pop-up (that unfortunately closed). The gravy, the rice, the patties, the "egg", the mac salad... BOMB! The mac salad & lumpia together are a meal on that alone. Majority of their sauces are housemade! I love that! Their breakfast items are a repeat for me! The pancakes with ube drizzle keep me coming back. I love the staff here, like Destiny. Very friendly & lovely. They work hard! I have had majority of the menu... & I know there are more options to come. I personally am a very busy person, I don't mind ordering my food in person, over the phone, or online and going to pick up my food & being on my way.

Ask the Community - Lucky Catsu

Is this one of those shared food kitchens that has 10 restaurants for pick-up only?

I'm not sure of the exact setup, but the pick up location was a little confusing. There were a lot of signs for other restaurants, so it might be.

This time, my friends and I were craving something good, and I finally remembered the place. The black al pastor looked incredible online, and it was even better in person. I ordered that along with the lobster taco, while my friend tried the vegetarian option. That black al pastor taco was unlike anything I've had before. I'm very picky when it comes to tacos, but their al pastor is up there with some of my favorites, including Tacos Los Cholos, Tacos El Franc, and Tacos El Gordo. If you're looking for something different and want to try tacos with bold, creative flavors, definitely check out Evil Cooks.

Don't get me wrong--the tacos weren't bad, but they also weren't mind-blowing. The flavors were there and definitely interesting, but they were missing that wow factor for me. The burrito was decent too, although it was a little on the oily side. Overall, it was worth trying, but I'm not sure I would go out of my way to come back.

I got the crispy pork and my nephew got the brisket. They looked a bit on the small side when we first got them. I was worried it might not be enough for the big fella, but it ended up being the perfect size! I almost couldn't finish the last two bites and I'm an eater. Lol! We had their passion fruit drink and it was yummy! I did ask for 50% less sugar. I think I could've even done 75% less. (Trying to kick sugar to the curb.) I got a bag of espresso beans that they're carrying right now, starts with an F (threw away the bag already). A local roaster and it is very good. My espresso shots are divine! The guy there said that they change it up, I believe, every few weeks or every month. Something to note, the place is a bit small so if you want to sit and eat, come with just one or two people. Hopefully, they'll be able to expand the space somehow bc honestly, I could've just hung out there for hours. This is going on my "Cravings Satisfied" List. I ordered two breakfast burritos: one with crispy pork belly and one with brisket. Both were solid. What makes the burrito great is its structural integrity. The flour tortilla is chewy but slightly flaky from being grilled. It's the right thickness that keeps all of its ingredients together: crispy tater tots, soft scrambled eggs, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli. It was the perfect size to keep me satiated and I only wish it came with more salsa. Both proteins were good and I'd come back to try the other ones. I ordered an iced vanilla latte to pair with it and for some reason it came very foamy and tasted more chocolate-y in some way? There were some notes of something that was not vanilla. It wasn't bad by any means, but surprising, since vanilla is typically pretty simple. The food came out in 10 minutes after ordering and there were plenty of tables available outdoors. The inside was a bit cramped and most tables were occupied. Parking is all on the street so it can be hard but it's worth it.
