Overall 3.5/5 I really enjoyed the honey walnut "shrimp". My family's favorite was the bulgogi. Everything was quite decent. My only gripe is that the portions are a bit small for the price.

You people here at this business really need to learn how to update your hours of operation. It's not that hard to indicate this on your website or Yelp if your facility is open or not. This is the second time that we drove here and the place is not open. Yelp says they're open but they don't even bother changing their hours or indicating this anywhere. They don't update anything, nor do they care. It's just bad business. We don't live in the area and commute 40 minutes just to get here. This place really needs to work on their communication. It really leaves a bad rep for your business. As loyal customers this problem needs to be fixed. We left messages on their phone, left messages on their Yelp and even texted their number. NO ONE EVEN REPLIED. Last time they said they had a "family emergency" but now I think an ongoing and recurring bs to make up excuses for their failure. BEWARE to customers--you'll end up wasting your time and money and efforts supporting the business if this persists.

The food was very tasty and flavorful. Their portion size will definitely fill you up. I love the vegan Mac salad! It's the best I've had so far. The Musubi was so flavorful. I think it has a Hawaiian sweet sauce that elevates the flavors. I do suggest less rice. I think too much rice takes away from the flavor. Overall, great food!

OH.MY.GOODNESS. I am from Hawaii and got so excited when I ran across Lucky Catsu. I can't find local-style vegan food like this at home, so I was shocked when I found it in LA! I tried the spam musubi and mochiko chicken plate...totally blown away by the flavor profiles and how spot-on it was compared to the "real thing". Broke da mouth for sure - mahalo!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Perfect texture and saltiness. The catsu is awesome and worth the drive to get. Couldn't say it more. Simplistic kitchen concept with a unique flare!

this place has prob became a go to for us bc it's close, vegan, stays open late, and literally SOOO good like wtf..! it pretty much checks all the boxes. tried the breakfast french toast plate and the potatoes were the best breakfast potatoes i've had in forever. my only thing was that the eggs were very salty but nothing good ol ketchup couldn't fix because i'd def get this plate again. then weeks later, tried the beef bulgogi and fried catsu with curry plate. the absolute STAR was the macaroni salad omg pure mac salad perfection..i could've just ate a plate of that. the rice was the perfect texture and the catsu with the curry was crazy, even the curry poured over rice was a must. i wasn't a huge fan of the bulgogi because of the texture; it was like wet jerky imo but the flavor was there. i just hope this business never disappears! GO SUPPORT VEGAN KITCHENS!

There are a plethora of vegan Asian/Polynesian staples, however, I can't really think of more than TWO places that offer specifically Hawaiian food! Diana has wonderful concept here! Bold flavors, big portions, & having customizable options. Her loco moco is outstanding & the very first thing I tried when she had a pop-up (that unfortunately closed). The gravy, the rice, the patties, the "egg", the mac salad... BOMB! The mac salad & lumpia together are a meal on that alone. Majority of their sauces are housemade! I love that! Their breakfast items are a repeat for me! The pancakes with ube drizzle keep me coming back. I love the staff here, like Destiny. Very friendly & lovely. They work hard! I have had majority of the menu... & I know there are more options to come. I personally am a very busy person, I don't mind ordering my food in person, over the phone, or online and going to pick up my food & being on my way.

Is this one of those shared food kitchens that has 10 restaurants for pick-up only?

I'm not sure of the exact setup, but the pick up location was a little confusing. There were a lot of signs for other restaurants, so it might be.

I got the Chicken Shawarma wrap with fries and hot damn if that wasn't some of the best vegan food I've ever tasted! I'm more of a flexitarian, but I try to eat at least one vegan meal a day. And wow, am I glad I chose this place! First off, those fries. Seasoned to perfection. I think they use some sort of cajun seasoning. But whatever it was, it was hella good. Next, the wrap. Um, what?! How is this vegan?! Whatever meat alternative they used, the texture was perfect. Also amazing seasonings and sauces. It was packed with flavor and lots of veggies. And it was super filling, too! I also grabbed a coconut water cause I need my electrolytes. I took my meal to-go, but kind of regretted it because the inside is so cute! Retro diner chic. Counter stools. Tiled floors. Adorbs. Also, the staff was super helpful and very attentive even though I was doing take-out. Just a five-star experience all around. I saw mention of this vegan Mediterranean restaurant after I failed to secure a reservation at Pura Vita, a nearby vegan Italian spot we liked on a previous vacation (review: https://yelp.to/FHUmsvRN-m). It was a further walk from our hotel, but we had no trouble securing a table for two here. The menu looked mostly Italian, so we were quite pleased with the choices. Jamie ordered the $25 Spaghetti Carbonara, a fresh tasting, gluten-free rendition with bits of vegan gianciale, green peas and an impressive whole "egg" yolk on top (Photo 8). I must've been in a "meatier" mood and went with the $26 Tagliatelle Bolognese, another gluten-free delight. The sauce had a savory umami flavor anchored by chopped mushrooms, carrot, and onion (Photo 9). The pasta had a surprising al dente texture. We shared the salty-savory $14 Grilled Artichokes with olives, capers, roasted peppers, lemon, and mint (Photo 10). Although portions were just right, we still found room for the generous $12 Brownie Sundae with vanilla ice cream, fudge sauce, coconut whip, and brandied cherries (Photo 7). What a find. I've been wanting to try Crossroads Kitchen for a long time, and I'm so glad I finally made it…read more While the ambiance and décor evoke the warmth of an old-school steakhouse or classic Italian restaurant, the food is anything but traditional. It offers a fresh, modern take on vegan Italian cuisine. Drinks & Appetizers We started with two cocktails: the Strawberry Girl (alcoholic) and the Let It Be (non-alcoholic). Both were excellent. For appetizers, we ordered the Moroccan Cigars, served with a light, tangy yogurt-style dipping sauce with just the right amount of heat. The cigars themselves were delicate, filled with plant-based meat, and lightly fried. Think of an elevated, artisanal taquito. A perfect lead-in to the main course. Entrées We ordered two dishes: the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka with the chicken Parmesan add-on, and the Spicy Meatball Pizza. Pro tip: absolutely add the chicken Parmesan to the rigatoni. The vodka sauce was bold and spicy without overpowering the dish, and the chicken Parm was beautifully cooked with excellent texture, a natural and well-balanced pairing. The pizza was exceptional. True to its name, there was a meatball in nearly every bite. It's topped with ricotta and dusted with parmesan, and we added red chili flakes for an extra kick. The crust is very thin and artisanal, and every component, the marinara, meatballs, sausage, ricotta, and parmesan, worked in perfect harmony. The dough alone is worth finishing every last piece. Dessert We ended with the Brownie Sundae, which was the one minor letdown of the evening. The ice cream appeared to have been pre-scooped, as it was quite firm with visible ice crystals, not ideal. The brownie itself, however, was absolutely delicious, though the portion felt a bit small relative to the dish as a whole. Overall, the sundae was just okay. I'd likely skip it next time and explore other dessert options. Service & Atmosphere The service was fantastic, and the overall ambiance was warm and inviting. The pacing of the meal was particularly impressive. Drinks, appetizers, entrées, and dessert all arrived at just the right tempo. Nothing felt rushed, and nothing lingered too long. Parking There is no dedicated parking for the restaurant. Crossroads is located on Melrose Avenue, a busy shopping district with heavy foot traffic and limited street parking. That said, we visited on a Sunday afternoon and found street parking without much trouble. If spots near the restaurant are taken, driving a few blocks into the surrounding neighborhood usually turns up more options, just be prepared for a short walk. Plan your arrival time accordingly to avoid any parking stress. Overall, Crossroads Kitchen delivered on every front. Creative food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend, with the rigatoni and pizza as must-orders.
