The vibes here were great. I loved the music, the look of the restaurant, and the layout. The food was not as good as I was expecting. I got the chicken ramen and my boyfriend got the katsu tonkatsu. The Broth was meh in the katsu. Not a big serving size as well. I'm used to having leftovers at the end and we both finished it in a short amount of time. For dessert, we got the matcha puff. It was so dry. Not worth it. Drinks were yummy! We got sake bombs and the spirit free pineapple lemonade. I wish the sake bombs were set up- we only received the shots and glasses of beer. Service was a 7/10. It was busy so I understand. There was some miscommunication with seating - one lady told us our table would be ready in 2 minutes. Then another couple came and she told them 10 minutes. After she left, another lady came and gave our table to the couple who was told 10 minutes. Came a little after the grand opening and it was amazing. I've been to the other ramen-Sans and this one has a slightly smaller menu. I got the tan-tan San ramen and it was good! It's slightly spicy but I enjoyed it. My friend got the "pho" he also enjoyed it a lot! He said 9/10. I give mine the 10/10. It was also his birthday and the lovely waitress brought out hot doughnuts free of charge. Overall a great experience! Would go back! read more

First and foremost this restaurant met my expectations! From the food, the drinks and the service was all amazing. Our server Ryan took good care of us. If you ever go to Ramen-San do not hesitate to ask for him. He gave us great recommendations and gave us dessert on the house for being our first time. I visited this place by chance, late afternoon on Friday, 9/1. The staff was friendly and the warm interior was about half filled with couples, and no kids; which is always a plus. Seems like an excellent place for a date. The server asked me about 8 times if I had any food allergies.....I probably just should have said yes at that point! (I do not have any food allergies.) For a starter, I had the Chicken & Vegetable Gyoza, which was tasty, but did not seem too fresh. Though it arrived to the table rather quick. The entrée, was the Kimchi & Fried Chicken Ramen. The fried chicken on its own was tender, with excellent breading. The noodles were not overcooked and the overall dish was the right amount of spicy. For dessert, I ordered the Hot Donuts. I told the server I wanted them to go, and they were brought out even before the starter arrived. In the car on the way home, I realized that they only gave me 5 donuts, instead of the 6 which was noted on the menu. Not a big deal, but anyone from Chicago does not like getting cheated out of a donut ball. They do add a 3% surcharge to the check, it should just be added to the menu prices to save anyone from the awkwardness of asking it to be taken off. (I did not ask for the surcharge to be removed.) When in the area again, I will be sure to check this place out.......and count the donuts before I leave! read more

Be aware: this restaurant is not friendly to neurodivergent people. I had a very upsetting experience tonight with a group of friends here. There were 4 us and we all ordered drinks and ramen. One friend ordered a whiskey and coke but she ordered dessert instead of ramen. We were teasing her about having dessert for dinner but then she told us that she had already had dinner. She tried to order another drink at one point and waited for a long time for it to come. My friend is neurodivergent and she talks differently. She talks really fast and bubbly. To someone who doesn't know her, it could sound like she is drunk. But she talks like this all the time even totally sober. Also, she was talking like that the whole time we were at the restaurant. After she asks for her second drink for the third or fourth time, a manager comes over and basically tells her she's cut off. This has happened to her before because of how she talks and she wasn't going to argue but I told the manager that all 3 of us could attest that she was not drunk and I said "this is how she talks." My friend did comment "don't I only have one drink on my tab?" But the manager didn't address this point. I'm sure the way she talks contributed to this or maybe that she didn't order dinner. I don't blame the waiter for making this call because like I said, she does kind of sound drunk. However, after I pointed out to the manager that my friend talks this way, she should have taken the hint and let it go. She did come back to the table and offered my friend beer (she was drinking whiskey and isn't a beer drinker at all). She also made a condescending remark about "wanting everyone to be safe." Then, she offered everyone else at the table a drink as if we were going to drink in front of our friend. I don't think the manager handled this well because once I said "this is her voice and this is how she talks," you should take the hint that not everyone is the same and neurodiverse people exist. There were 3 other people who were apparently considered sober enough to drink saying that this girl was safe and sober. This was an embarrassing and disappointing experience for us. read more

As someone with celiac disease, I was really excited to try this place, since they have gluten free noodles. After taking our orders, the server came back and told me the only way they could do gluten free ramen is with chicken broth and grilled chicken breast. They brought me the wrong dish and had to remake it. When I finally got my order it was awfully bland, basically $19 unseasoned chicken noodle soup. We left feeling hungry and went to Oiistar immediately after to get actual good ramen.
