Why did they have to change the noodles!? :(
    Adrian P.

This has always been my go to spot because of how close it is to me and the girl is always in a happy friendly mood but they arent consistent anymore...one time they ran out of sprouts but they at least added veggies...so it actually made it better...but today they changed the noodles and shorted me the tripe....the noodles are now the thicker kind..they are still pretty good but not the noodles I like with pho. I also didnt get any utensils so glad i have chopsticks at home. It was a good run while it lasted but I will start going elsewhere.

Pho King Good Broth! From the very first spoonful to the last, the flavor hit just right. I had the Pho King Special, and everything in the bowl was spot-on -- tender meat, rich bone marrow, clean and balanced broth, and super fresh herbs. Nothing greasy or heavy, just pure comfort in a bowl. The service was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and fast without feeling rushed. The restaurant itself is spotless, bright, and welcoming. You can tell they care about both the food and the experience.

They made out order super quick. You can tell they use fresh ingredients because the herbs were crisp. I got a seafood pho and the seafood didn't taste fishy and had a great texture. The noodles were a little soft and broth lacked a little flavor, but still very good. Also, their Vietnamese coffee was strong and delicious.

Excellent customer service Foods were soooooooo delicious Such a warming environment Will recommend to friends and family

Nice little place with pretty good customer service. Unfortunately, the food is decent at best. There are about 5 solid Vietnamese spots near our place in San Diego. This place needs to up their food game for sure. We got a good sized order to go. 3 pho's, a Bahn Mi, and some stir fried noodles. The lemongrass beef Banh Mi was a disappointing sandwich. The beef had a decent flavor but the veggies were weak. Normally, Banh Mi come with bold flavored pickled daikon and carrot. That gives a good compliment to any meat. This sandwich had a tiny amount, didn't even realize it was there. Lastly, it should be on a French baguette. It did seem to be a French bread thing but something just wasn't right. It seemed to be more like a hoggie bead or something. The pho Viet 101 Special and seafood pho were decent, nothing special. It comes with the broth separate from the rest so the noodles don't get soggy. The stir fry egg noodles with seafood didn't look great and the taste was just OK. Vietnamese coffee was delicious! To be honest, we probably won't be back. But it's a decent option.

Located in the Barnyard shopping center this Vietnamese restaurant is a little dated, but don't let the decor deter you. The food is in incredible! I ordered a large bowl with thin sliced meat balls along with spring rolls for the table. First off, I should've gotten a small bowl of pho, the large bowls here are massive. I had plenty of leftover for the next day and the day after! The broth was delicious with deep rich flavors and the noodles were slightly al dente, which I loved. I couldn't help myself and active point picked up my bowl and just started sipping the broth. My wife ordered the same thing as I, minus the meatballs and she too, could not get over how much flavor the broth had, almost like they had been slow cooking this for the past three days straight. The spring rolls were 100% handmade and the filling inside was delicious. We did bring our kids with us and we're definitely nervous because they are very picky eaters. They do offer a kids menu, but there isn't much to it. It's basically rice broth and your choice of meat. We ordered my 4-year-old daughter a small bowl of rice with broth and chicken; she loved this and kept asking for more! My son (7) went big and ordered pho with squid... he inhaled everything! Even asking if we could order more squid on the side to which we did and he ate that as well. This was huge win for mom and dad, now we can do pho to the family dining out rotation. This is a family own restaurant and the staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful. Branden, our server, help to answer any questions and was very attentive to make sure we had everything we needed!

You can taste the depth, richness, and care that goes into it. It's incredibly flavorful without being overpowering, comforting without feeling heavy, and perfectly balanced every single time. Seriously, this is the kind of pho you crave constantly after trying it once. Their pork belly banh mi is honestly my favorite in the world!!! The pork belly is perfectly tender with just the right amount of crispiness, the bread is fresh and crunchy, and all the flavors come together perfectly. I've tried banh mi from so many places and nothing compares to this one. The dipping sauce ! Are you kidding me?!! And the ban xeo? Absolutely to die for. Crispy, savory, packed with flavor, and paired with fresh herbs and dipping sauce that take it to another level. Every bite is perfection. On top of the incredible food, the atmosphere is modern, welcoming, and comfortable. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel taken care of. The owner walks around and greets all the guests, like who does that! They make you feel like family. They also have a full bar, which is such a great bonus, and their lychee drink is my personal favorite! It's refreshing, delicious, and the perfect pairing with the meal. One of the few to have an open bar as well. I ordered the 2nd option Pho on the menu along with an iced Vietnamese coffee which plus tip, came out to $36. Food: Their Pho broth is one of the best I've had. I've eaten at many places in the Bay Area and Orange County and this one wins hands down. Broth had the right amount of saltiness where I didn't need to add much. And you can actually taste the spices which I'm pretty huge on. Big flavor bomb indeed. Cons: My only knock is skimming on the noodles and meat. For $18, you do pay a little higher than most places. I'd definitely pay that for the quality alone but felt shorted. Customers are smart, they pick up on things all the time. I just wish this was improved and this place easily gets a 5 star. Definitely will be one of my new go to places for Pho in town!

Not welcoming. Very rude and seems to not want to talk at all. No greeting nor smile. She just point to a table and brought me the menu. Never came back to take my order. A elderly man came from the back brought me a cup of water. I told him im ready. Apparently, I was waiting for a good 5 plus minutes. So i put my order in with him but he doesn't really understand. He went up to her and ask for help for a good 3 minutes. They seem to be arguing in their language. She seems iritated. She came up to me and gives me that side eye. I ask for extra meat and put it on the side. They still couldn't understand so it's ok. He came back with my bowl of pho. Extra meat inside of my bowl. The menu said it's $2 dollar for extra meat but she charged me $4. I was in the rush so i didn't want to talk. I paid and left urgently. She charged me service at 3.5%. I didnt even bother to tip. Especially the small portion. I don't mind the portion but it's so pricey. RATE : 2/5 SIDE : EXTRA MEAT : $4 : The menu said $2. But I'm not sure why she charge me $4. For $4, i expect the meat to be more than what I recieve. RATE : 1/5 OVERALL : I do recommend checking the price on the menu and your receipt. The price is really off. I just didn't have the time and energy to talk. Plus, I got food poisoning here so I wouldn't recommend. Unless you want to try it out for your self. Who knows, different day is different. My memory is shot. I don't want to be handing out 5 stars so easily but I think they deserve it. The restaurant is very clean, and I love the little Asian lanterns they have, all different, above each table. Plenty of seating. When we got there (a little after 5), there was only one other table occupied... by the time we left (6:30), every table was nearly taken. Our waitress, as well as the other on the floor, were both very welcoming and friendly. They handled the service remarkably as a team. The fact that they were a packed house and still were very attentive with us, checking how we're doing, checking on our water refills... these are the little things I appreciate most (and, of course, good food). I got the Pho with the Fatty Brisket, my friend got just the Steak Pho. They have a bar against the wall with all garnishes you may need to grab what you'd like. This is pretty smart... It saves them from waste. Instead of giving people items they may not use-- they would just grab what they'd like themselves. My friend grabbed her goodies, I prefer mine as is. To me, if your broth is good and doesn't require me to flavor it... I'll eat it just like that (unless I feel like adding spice). I've only ever been to a few other Pho places where I had to season up the broth myself...definite no no for them. All my friends who have gone out to eat Pho with me know I eat it just how I get it. Pho from my Mama is a different story though... I put the works (not because it's not flavorful) but, it's just different. Moving on... They also have a Teazona in their establishment. I've tried a few different drinks in the past but came to regularly deciding on the Tiramisu Milk Tea (no flan for me, light boba). Make sure to shake it well. You can also let them know your preference on the level of sweetness. We both got this tonight and it nearly tipped me over on the full scale. Couldn't finish it. Everything was really good though. Pho was the perfect choice for this weird, gloomy weather we've been having. The price is a bit up there but that seems to be the norm everywhere nowadays. But-- for the portion, the quality, and the service? Worth it.
