This has always been my go to spot because of how close it is to me and the girl is always in a happy friendly mood but they arent consistent anymore...one time they ran out of sprouts but they at least added veggies...so it actually made it better...but today they changed the noodles and shorted me the tripe....the noodles are now the thicker kind..they are still pretty good but not the noodles I like with pho. I also didnt get any utensils so glad i have chopsticks at home. It was a good run while it lasted but I will start going elsewhere. read more

This place has fallen off. Have been coming here once a month for the past year and a half but today was the last. Walked in at 1:30 on a Friday afternoon and all the tables had previous patrons dishes left over. There was not a clear booth or spot to sit for a solo eater. On top of that, a Clovis Karen walked in after me, to which the staff addressed first. There was also a patron that was there that stood up after I walked in and was assisted again, prior to me. Food has always been decent but not enough to make up for the terrible service. I have been skimped on the rare steak pho (four pieces in a large bowl). read more

This is my favorite place to get chow mein, and the pho is great too. My son loves the egg rolls.

They made out order super quick. You can tell they use fresh ingredients because the herbs were crisp. I got a seafood pho and the seafood didn't taste fishy and had a great texture. The noodles were a little soft and broth lacked a little flavor, but still very good. Also, their Vietnamese coffee was strong and delicious. read more

I've been ordering from this place from DoorDash multiple times and today decided to visit the restaurant myself. Their chicken pho is my favorite! Portions are pretty big. Today I found this Pho Viet 101 for my lunch. I ordered the Vermecelli bowl with grilled pork and egg roll. When the order came, the Vermecelli was there, NO grilled pork instead I got a big slice of "FAT" 100% PORK FAT. The "Worst" I ever had. No taste of course due to all 100% fat. The Vinegar dressing for the noodle was in a tiny tiny tiny little cup instead of 1/2 rice bowl. So frugal. I have been eating at other Vietnamese restaurant with very similar items. PHO VIET 101 is the "WORST". WILL NOT GO BACK. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! My rating for this restaurant is "1 out of 10". Service was fair good. Needs improvement. read more

Nice little place with pretty good customer service. Unfortunately, the food is decent at best. There are about 5 solid Vietnamese spots near our place in San Diego. This place needs to up their food game for sure. We got a good sized order to go. 3 pho's, a Bahn Mi, and some stir fried noodles. The lemongrass beef Banh Mi was a disappointing sandwich. The beef had a decent flavor but the veggies were weak. Normally, Banh Mi come with bold flavored pickled daikon and carrot. That gives a good compliment to any meat. This sandwich had a tiny amount, didn't even realize it was there. Lastly, it should be on a French baguette. It did seem to be a French bread thing but something just wasn't right. It seemed to be more like a hoggie bead or something. The pho Viet 101 Special and seafood pho were decent, nothing special. It comes with the broth separate from the rest so the noodles don't get soggy. The stir fry egg noodles with seafood didn't look great and the taste was just OK. Vietnamese coffee was delicious! Pretty good! I came here with my dad and he got pho and I got the vermicelli. My vermicelli was ok - good seasoning but the beef was really tough and hard to eat. My dad however said the pho broth was the best he's ever had - and we've eaten at a LOT of pho places in SoCal and he's never said that. They also sell lotto tickets there lol read more

Is it possible for the decor to be both nice and plain? I struggle with describing the interior. It's very clean and welcoming. The staff is helpful. Verp patient and answers questions. The reason I will keep coming is the pho. The broth is great. The additions go from the basic meatballs to filet mignon. It also helps that it's close to home. I was there today to try out their pho. I was dissatisfy with there customer service. the pho wasn't that great either. I don't know, maybe I was a minority and they treating me differently compared to the other customer, which is white.. plus the sever girl was giving me a fake and ugly attitude. And when i went to go pay, she ask me if the food was good and I told her it was okay only and she asked me again with a demanding tone if the food was good and i repeated myself. 3.5 stars but I'm holding off from giving them a 3. I want to give it another shot. Especially because the owner seems so nice. They have potential but a few things need to be changed... I'm so excited they brought sandwiches back. The owner doesn't speak English much so I couldn't really chat with him about it. But he did say the menu was new when I asked. The lemongrass beef had an authentic flavor according to hubs. However the bread was too dry. :( if they can get better bread maybe this would be a new staple. This place is delicious every time. I'm always impressed by the cleanness of this restaurant, the kindness of the staff, and the quality of the food. My friends and I arrived around 12 PM on a Sunday and were immediately helped and seated. The waiter was incredibly kind to us, the restaurant was clean, and was only about 1/3 full. The restaurant is on the smaller side, maybe about 50 people at most. I got the plate number 26, which was a sirloin steak soup bowl. The broth was delicious, not too salty, but rich and flavorful. The entire bowl was the perfect amount. The noodles are great, and the fresh basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and limes were were fresh and gave my soup the perfect extra boost of flavor. At the recommendation of the waiter, I also ordered the bone marrow. This was cooked perfectly! The marrow was soft and easy to pull out of the bone, and of course, had great flavor. All in all, this is just a great small business that produces a great and tasty soup. Totally worth a try. read more

Came here and ordered the pho king special, that comes with a massive beef rib and bone marrow, and the pho with sirloin and meatballs. Overall the broth was good and the pho came out in a timely manner. The beef bone was huge and bone marrow was gelatinous. You can also order these on the side for $5 each if you do not want both (I saw this option after ordering). Next time, I probably would just get a regular bowl of pho with the beef rib on the side as I'm not a fan of bone marrow in general. This bowl costs $25 which is pricey for a bowl of pho but the ingredients put into make it this price. The amount of noodles was also not as fulfilling as a large bowl of pho from other places in Fresno. However the portion was just the right amount for me, as eating a large bowl usually puts me into a food coma lol. The location of this shop is probably what sets it apart because there isn't really any other pho shops around this area and living near here makes it easy to get a nice, hearty bowl of pho without having to drive 20 min somewhere else. Definitely would come back if I was feeling lazy and didn't want to drive further than 20 min. read more

Food was okay. The pho broth was not salty enough. They didn't have salt or fish sauce on the table to season it so it was just okay. The service was what the stars are for. We had questions about the menu and the server was very helpful in explaining it to us and giving us options that wasn't on the menu, like getting a kids size pho and adding shrimp to it because they didn't have sizes for the adult pho. Easily the best Vietnamese restaurant, of the handful I have tried, in Clovis. To begin, the Phở Gà (or chicken pho) is very good. The broth is rich and has a deep flavor. The noodles were cooked to perfection. Fresh garnishes and bean sprouts. It is rather uncommon to find restaurants that prepare phở gà this flavorful since chicken is such a mild tasting meat. A slowly simmered broth has to be the logical reason. I knew this was very good indicator that the rest of their dishes would be made using quality ingredients and with meticulous preparation. Not to be outdone is the savory beef phở. I consider really good bowl of phở has to use mostly fresh beef and quality meat parts, the broth is very flavorful, long simmered but clean and delicately balanced. The noodles should also be fresh, chewy but not overcooked and too clumpy. You could check all the boxes off the list here. I ordered a small sized #P31, which includes flank steak, brisket, tendon and tripe. The noodle soup dish was well portioned with a lot of meat, delicious noodles that really soaked in the flavors of the broth. Best bowl of phở I have had in town so far. The Eggrolls (or Cha Gio) are also very good. They are crunchy, crispy, chewy and served pipping hot. The minced pork is very tasty and moist, mixed with Julienned daikon radish and carrots. The sweet and tangy dipping sauce is fantastic. The only thing that would have made them better is if they were accompanied with red or green leaf lettuce, cilantro and Perilla leaves so you can fold them into a salad wrap. The Shrimp Spring Rolls is another solid appetizer. Probably better than most places I have tried in town because of the freshness factor. Plump, meat jumbo shrimp and freshly shredded lettuce, stuffed with perfectly cooked noodles, makes a huge difference. The chicken wings are delicious but rather small. Deep fried in batter and comes with the same tangy dipping sauce as the eggrolls. Portions and priced appropriate for an appetizer. For vegans and vegetarians, the tofu rice with lemongrass and chilis is a good choice. The fried tofu has a nice meaty texture to it and is surprisingly filling. The mix of lemongrass and chili peppers, both with high flavor profiles, works very well with tofu and mild tasting meats like chicken. A dash of ginger gives the dish some extra zest. A salad mix of green leaf lettuce, sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, Julienned carrots and pickled daikon radish combine to make it a full meal. Servers can be more attentive to dine-in guests but they are friendly. It is not really a compliant but improvements in service can be made. Restaurant is clean and well maintained. Bowls and plates are securely packaged for take-out orders. As of late April, dining indoors with limited, well-spaced apart seating (to meet Covid-19 restaurant guidelines) has resumed. read more

This is my second review and I can't say enough about how I love this place!! The owners and staff make you feel like family! I usually do take out and they always prepare either fresh water or a cup of tea while I wait. Everything is so clean and inviting! The food is amazing! It's always fresh and so flavorful and no doubt home made. After telling myself I would never return, I actually went back today, and was even more disappointed. The hoisin sauce was watered down and very runny. I confronted the owner and showed him the sauce, and he just smiled and walked away. You can't tell me he didn't understand because I spoke to him in Vietnamese. They had the original rooster Sarachi sauce bottle, but the sauce was actually from a different brand. This is unethical, a health hazard, and is illegal. Let's hope that a person who is allergic to the off brand doesn't mistakenly consume it and with the believe that it was the original rooster brand. I was in the area and was craving Asian food. Since I was out and about and didn't want to go home to cook. I searched for Asian restaurants thru Yelp. I'm not a big fan of a lot of Vietnamese restaurants here in town, but because I was close by I wanted to try this spot. I called first to make sure they were still open and if they had dining outside. When I entered in the restaurant, a young man greeted us and asked if we had any questions about their menu that was displayed on a table inside. He said that it was just a temporary paper menu because of Covid and they had just opened in June of this year. The food came out quickly and it was very tasty. The food tasted like something I would cook at home. The smoothie and Thai tea we ordered were very good as well, a bit sweet but very good. There was only one table and two chairs outside in front of the restaurant. The young man grabbed us another chair for the three of us. It was very warm outside, he placed a tower fan on us to help keep us cool. He asked if we needed anything a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed. I thought he was very hospitable. We were the only ones there when we ordered and started eating. More people came when we were finishing our food. The young man was nice and hospitable to those people too. I noticed a couple that was a little rude, but the young man was still nice and patient with them. I really liked this place and I am so excited that we now have a good Vietnamese restaurant. We will definitely come back! read more

Best vermicelli bowl I've had in a long time! Portion size was good. Crispy shrimp was a game changer. Also came with fresh crispy onions and nuts to top it off. Added chilli oil they have on the table to give it a kick. The base of the bowl was very fresh. Came with lettuce, shredded carrots, noodles, chopped green onion and bean sprouts. My husband and I randomly passed by, and decided to try this place out. I loved the atmosphere here! Our waiter kindly greeted us & helped us with everything. Food came fast & was super yummy too. The broth was savory & salty. My husband's favorite was the spring rolls, he loved the pork in there. Also, I just wanted to give the waiter a hand of applause for handling the most awkward, almost racist conversation with the white folks sitting in the store lol. I heard them talk about dogs & then talking about racism and jokingly questioning if them using a chopstick was cultural appropriation. They were completely out of line & the waiter handled it so well. He answered all of their questions nicely & smiled & helped them to the best of his ability. If I could give a 0 stars I would. My son who is sick wanted pho. Generally I only go here on occasion because the pho is not as good as other places around but proximity and time led me here. I go in, ask for a kids meatball pho to go, and the man tells me to get the full version. I said no I just need a kids meatball pho to go for my son. His English is bad but he told me no because my son wasn't with me. I was like are you serious? I just said fine I won't do business here and left but what terrible service. I mean worst case scenario he thought it was for me, who cares you still got paid.
