    Spicy Roasted Garlic Miso Ramen

Ramen wasabi was yummy. We got the katsu buns which were delicious, although my bun fell apart pretty quickly. The garlic ramen had a delicious taste and was super comforting overall. The service was a tad slow but it was busy so it's to be expected. The ambiance was no frills, hip spot good for a small group of friends or an intimate get together.

This place HIT THE SPOT on a cold day after the balloon museum! Not sure if we were starving but this ramen was everything we ever dreamed of because we were craving it. The entire restaurant serves you so it felt like people were attentive, although the ramen took a while to come out. (It was a pretty busy night for a Tuesday!) We got the spicy roasted garlic miso. I wouldn't say it was spicy, but I do quite enjoy spice! The left overs definitely had a kick to them. We would definitely get this exact dish again though; heavenly! For an app we got the mini char siu bowl and it was incredibly tasty, not like what I was expecting but pleasantly surprised. My partner got some hot tea and that was nice as she was able to get a refill as well. I opted for some hot water as well. We had a high top seat near the back of the restaurant but still by the front door and IT IS DRAFTY! So please be aware and mindful for the poor door person who has to freeze. Overall great experience, we would just sit somewhere else next time.

Came here on a Thursday evening around what I thought would be happy hour. They said they weren't doing that for the day (I thought was kind of weird), but beware :/ Interiors were lovely and it was pretty busy when I went! Still managed to get seating. Despite no HH, I was quite satisfied. The ramen was delicious! Got their classic Spicy Garlic Miso Ramen, which was very flavorful. Loved all of the fillings, and opted for the Chicken Char Siu - really nice. Appreciated that they had the option. My friend got the Hakata Classic, which also had great flavor. The broth felt more watery on this one, and I preferred the thicker noodles in the Miso Ramen. Would return! Hopefully for when they have happy hour next time : )

Before heading over to The Lodge Lounge for a comedy show, my siblings and I decided to kick off the night with dinner at Ramen Wasabi--and it turned out to be the perfect choice. Atmosphere & Location The restaurant is tucked into a prime spot that's both accessible and inviting. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by how sleek yet cozy the space felt. Warm lighting, clean modern décor, and an energetic but comfortable vibe set the stage for a great night out. It's one of those places that feels lively without being overwhelming--perfect for a pre-show dinner. Food Experience The menu had plenty of standout options, and each bowl was a masterclass in flavor. The ramen broth was rich, layered, and full-bodied--clearly made with care and depth. The noodles had the perfect chew, and every topping complemented the dish beautifully. Whether it was the perfectly cooked pork belly melting into the broth, the soft-boiled egg with its golden yolk, or the fresh vegetables adding balance, each bite reminded us why Ramen Wasabi has such a strong reputation. We also tried a couple of appetizers, and they didn't disappoint. The gyoza were crisp on the outside with juicy, flavorful fillings, while the small plates gave just enough variety to share without overshadowing the main event. Overall Impression What really made the night memorable was how well everything tied together--the prime location, the inviting atmosphere, and most importantly, the exceptional food. It set the tone for the rest of our evening, making the comedy show afterward feel like the cherry on top. If you're looking for a spot to grab a satisfying, flavorful meal before heading out for the night, Ramen Wasabi is a must-visit. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again.

Great experience at Ramen Wasabi. Came with a big group and was able to be seated right away. After we ordered the food came very quickly afterward and the portion sizes were quite large. Ramen was amazing with good prices. Recommend the original tonkotsu and spicy garlic miso. I really appreciated that after we were done eating the employees let us hangout and enjoy our company without shoving the check at us immediately. Can't wait to go back !

Ramen Wasabi was pretty good. I haven't gone back since my first visit, but I'd definitely say it was better than Oiistar. The broth had more flavor and felt more balanced overall.

We have been on the hunt to try as many ramen places as possible in the city. Takoyaki was very disappointing. There wasn't enough cabbage or ginger mixed into the "dough" and it kind of felt like a pancake mix they crispified on the bubble waffle hot plate. I could have let go of the dough issue had the takoyaki actually had any tako-- octopus. There should be a noteable CHUNK of tako in there for it to be a takoyaki. Red Hakata- not really spicy but the spice they use is the type that sits in the back of your throat as opposed to the spicy on the tongue. If you slurp your noodles, be careful because the spice can get caught in your throat. The flavor had a Korean flare to it with a good amount of sesame oil flavor. The thin noodles had good texture. The oiliness prevented us from being able to finish the soup. Spicy miso ramen- Lots of garlic! I liked this one a bit better than the Hakata ramen. The noodles are thicker and chewier. Definitely different from most ramen places. The miso flavor got lost but it was a decent ramen. Ingredients inside all the ramen: soft egg had the right texture but no flavoring. This is a personal preference but I like seeing my soft egg marinated overnight to have an extra umami when it's cut open. The char siu are two big chunks of pork. Flavored well and probably one of the better ones in Chicago. I am a purist and like my char siu sliced instead of a big chunk since the chunks really emphasize the blob of fat attached to the pork. Service is great. Everyone was friendly and quick. It's a casual place and I saw many people getting a late lunch on a weekday. Overall, if you're in the area and are craving a bowl of ramen, try it. Otherwise, not worth the trip from other parts of the city.

Finally reviewing this place after many times of visiting. Never disappointed and by far the best Ramen in Chicago. I always start with a lychee martini and an order of chicken karaage. For ramen, my go to is the Sapporo Miso with an extra egg.

Spicy miso ramen was alright, nothing special. The poke bowl was really good. Wings were also pretty good. I really recommend trying cod slider. We went on a Saturday afternoon and wait time was around 20minutes. Food came at a decent time. It's a cute little ramen shop. Only gave 4 stars cuz ramen and wings were mid. But the other stuff was good

Delicious! There was a line but it moves fast. Waitress was super nice and you don't feel rushed even though it's super busy. The decor is very calming and a great place for a date. The chicken buns were outstanding, I'd go back just for those, the meat was cooked perfectly. The ramen was packed with flavor and the noodles were perfect.

Decent ramen but tonkatsu broth could have been more rich. Portion was good and price point was average for the area.

Food here is hyped for a reason. The broth is amazing and the meat is tender. Bee easily customizable and the portions are great. We like coming here before a show at the Lincoln Lodge. The drinks are also very good - would highly recommend. It's very popular so come early and together, they may not seat you without your full party.

The restaurant houses both an omakase counter and an izakaya, but in completely separate spaces. The omakase side is an intimate, beautifully designed counter with around 10 seats. We were the only guests that evening, so the whole experience felt wonderfully private -- just us, Chef Shoji, and the fish. Chef Shoji opens the meal by presenting the actual fish you'll be eating, all flown in twice a week from Japan or Spain. It immediately signals what kind of meal you're in for. The 20 courses were well-paced and the quality was consistent throughout. Nigiri and sashimi were pristine, but the hot dishes were equally impressive, which surprised me. Both sides of the menu showed real craft and attention to detail. Service was fantastic -- warm, attentive, and never stuffy. At $210 per person, it's a special occasion meal, but one that genuinely delivers on the price. As someone who eats a lot of omakase back home in LA, I wasn't sure what to expect.
