Service was great. Swift, attentive. I hate ramen with a hard/boiled egg. Ew. The char siu tasted stale. Noodles, bamboo, seaweed & broth were tasty. Croquette was ok. Every now & then a pea would pop up in a bite. Different. Small location. About 7 tables to accommodate 2-6 people.

My granddaughter loves their food. We haven't been in a while but we love that there is a weekly coupon to save some bucks. Hubs enjoyed the chicken katsu ramen. I got the tan tan ramen. Today the char siu was tough for the first time. As the employee passed by our table carrying someone's order I was fascinated. On her return I asked what's that round thing they ordered? She answers Croquettes. She looked at me and says you can try next time. I must have had a strange expression on my face cuz she says... Or you can try it now. NOW I replied and we all laughed as she said Side order croquette to the cook. They must have lots of take out orders cuz boxes were piled up in front of us and by the cash register. I guess I'll have left overs cuz the portion of noodles was too big for me plus one piece of extra croquette to go.

Its a dive with great ramen, gyoza and fried rice. Seated right away and the ladies are really nice. Ordered the combo a. Never disappoints. Chewy noodles with umami broth. The chasu actually has a flavor. Slightly salty but not too much. Just enough to enhance the bowl. The guoza is crispy and chewy with cabbage and a lot of pork. Served with a vinegar shoyu. Perfect! Fried rice is a little oily but retains its fluffiness. I love that hot wok taste that they capture. Its like grandma's. With a diet soda it was $21 with tax. I need to come back soon.

Went here on a rainy day and it really hit the spot. We were seated immediately as the counter was busy but not the restaurant seating. Our server was very caring and we were served quicker than we expected so that was nice. Pricing was fine for all you get. We were just saying we should come here more often, and how nice it was when a family came in and sat next to us with one kid screaming nonstop. We winded up packing up our dinner to finish at home but looking forward to trying again, especially when I want some good comfort food.

I've had their ramen before but my first time dining in for lunch. The servers took care of me well and my order came out fast and fresh. My meal was delicious and affordable. There weren't too many people in the restaurant so my timing dining here was good. Nonetheless, I would recommend dining and/or taking out. I will come back again!

So we stooped by Ramen ya Its very convenient and we got the following item Mini Katsu curry combo Garlic ramen Kids chicken Katsu curry Gyoza happy hour

    Ramen combination with katsu curry

The curry was delicious with the katsu. The ramen needed more flavor. The soup was bland and the noodles really tasted like egg. We also got a crap load of gyoza. The contents in the gyoza tasted sour. But it was fine because my stomach didn't get upset. Service was great given we were the only ones dinning in, Seems like a lot of people do take out. There were no condiments on the tables either, So I guess that goes to show they don't get a lot of dine ins. The place is very small, but clean. The restrooms are at the end of the building not inside the shop.

Frozen cold eggs. My teeth almost have a frost bite! I usually go to other noodle place with fresh eggs and a little runny. This one is hard and cold.

Our choice was the Combo B @4:30 pm (doubles your gyozo between 2-5 pm) Favorable, generous servings. Near Waipio Costco.

Decent parking in Waipio next to Starbucks and Costco. The food deserving 5 Stars as the Service and Ambiance. Perfect indoor AC temp makes this place "a must go".

    Gyoza for the Combo Set

This place is located in the complex next to the Waipio Costco, convenient to go before doing your shopping. Since my husband and I weren't that hungry, we decided to share a Combo Set which comes with a Mini Ramen, 4-piece Gyoza and a main entree...we chose the Chicken Katsu Curry. The curry entree and gyoza was good, same as other places. The ramen was bland but the char siu was on the salty side. Never thought of it till now but if there's a next time, I'll add a little shoyu and pepper to the soup base. As for the workers, would've been awesome if they were friendly and smiled.

I got myself those late night cravings for some ramen and katsu! I decided to stop by Ramen-Ya to get that fix. I was seated right from the get-go. The staff was very friendly and considerate. They sanitized the table and gave us our menus. You could definitely tell that the lady was trying to be considerate I. Regards to COVID-19 safety. I decided to order combo that comes with ramen and chicken katsu. It doesn't look like much but it was so much food! Everything tasted great. Now, granted, the ramen was pretty basic but good, nonetheless. As for the interior - it's pretty humble with limited seating. I also noticed boxes just set out in the restaurant which really wasn't favorable. Ramen-Ya is a great place for some good, budget-friendly food.

    Gyoza Horrible!

Ordered the combo ramen katsu gyoza gotta say not like the Ramen ya in pearl city which is always on point. When I told the lady gyoza not only looked burnt it tasted burnt she said that's how supposed to taste lol I didn't eat it besides the nibble to taste and she took it away only to give it to another patron wtf!!!! Had three burnt and one regular smh. Needless to say I told the patron I wouldn't eat that and I explained why we both walked out, Never goin to that location again

The food tasted very very good but I got sick after eating here. I'm not sure of how well they wash and sanitize their dishes.

Always great with hot broth and noodles. The wonton ramen is my favorite because it's soft and delicious.

I was thrilled to see that Daiichi Ramen has opened locations all around Oahu! Back in the mid-90s…read moreto early 2000s, I used to frequent the original Aiea location at least twice a month. That spot has since closed (now home to Shaka Ramen), so when I learned about the new locations, I knew exactly where I was having dinner on my last night on the island. The two waitresses at the Pearl City location were incredibly sweet and efficient. They took our orders quickly and constantly scanned the dining room to make sure every guest had what they needed; drink refills and anything else. The interior was well lit and adorned with Japanese style kitchen curtains and posters of their most-popular ramen. The light wood on the walls and comfortable seating offered a great place to enjoy their amazing food! I ordered the spicy, flavor-packed Tan Tan Ramen along with their signature fried rice. I couldn't resist the gyoza and was hungry enough to go for six pieces instead of the usual four that come with the combo. What sets the Tan Tan ramen apart is its signature broth: a rich, creamy, and spicy blend made with sesame paste and chili oil. It has a wonderful nutty depth that perfectly coats the thick noodles and pairs beautifully with the toppings. The ramen is highly customizable, so I added extra chashu pork and Ajitama, a soft-boiled egg. The thick, spicy, and savory broth delivered an outstanding flavor profile. If you like spicy ramen, I highly recommend the Tan Tan or try the Spicy Tonkotsu...! The restaurant was easy to find in the Pearl City Shops. While it's not huge, Daiichi Ramen now has multiple locations across Hawaiʻi (Pearl City, Kahala, Kailua, plus Kailua-Kona and Hilo on the Big Island), so you're almost guaranteed to find a seat. Enjoy!
