Since purchasing our "safe, reliable used vehicle" IN FULL, WITH CASH, since January 2023 (not even owned a year!!!), we have had to have the following done: 1) Replaced the engine within 5 weeks of purchasing 2) The vehicle eats through oil, I am having to add 1 QT of oil every week, and full oil changes every 4 weeks. We have spent hundreds on dollars on oul this year, and many hours wasted on this maintenance. 3) The transmission gave out yesterday, prompting me to write this review. So now I am looking at replacing the transmission ona vehicle we have spent almost $15,000 on!!! And now I don't have a vehicle to get to work!!! This has been the most stressful experience and I feel scammed. Every single time I would get in my vehicle, I never knew if I it would safely make it back home. I was really trying to support another local business, and with all the positive reviews, I thought this was our answer. Nowadays, I see him around where he's a popular regular and supporter at all the local car events. I don't know for how long but I know he's had his location for decades now. I live near the Otis Auto Sales lot. I had a couple of well used 90s vans I wanted to trade in for something newer and for about 2 years I have been walking by checking out vans on the lot. It's hard to find a used van that's not worn out. About 3 days ago I eyed a new arrival 2004 Astro / 150k mi, passenger van that was priced right but this one was different. I've been around used cars for almost 50 years myself and I can say without doubt, that this is maybe the cleanest 10+ year old used van I've ever seen. I had to look hard to see any signs of wear anywhere. I made my deal with Otis, got more for trade-in that I thought I would get and left feeling a little like I took advantage of him. I had to fix a broken vacuum line to the vent control that is common to that model and I replace the serpentine belt cause it was stretched and squealed some. I booked an appointment online for 12:30 PM and drove about 20 minutes to get there. When I arrived, I checked in at the front and was told to wait in my car because someone would come out to help me. I waited about 18 minutes with no one approaching me, so I had to flag someone down myself. After that, I was told there were 13 cars ahead of me and it would likely take around 4 hours before they could even get to my car. At that point, I was confused and frustrated because I had booked an appointment. They explained that the appointment time was really just a drop-off time, which was not clear when booking online. The whole process felt disorganized, slow, and inattentive. The customer service was poor, and I felt like my time was completely wasted. If appointments are not actual service times, that should be made very clear upfront so customers can plan accordingly. I would not recommend coming here if you expect timely or attentive service.

He knew the car and features inside and out and fully charged it before we came. I bought a BMW 330e from BMW of Monterey, CA in October of 2025. I had such a great experience. This is after nearly buying from Mercedes of Walnut Creek who added costs to the final price. Or BMW of Mountain View, where they tell you must give them a 9 or 10 out of 10 for their ratings, and hound us with sales emails. Conversely, Joseph at BMW of Monterey was very respectful of our time, and never gave us a sales pitch. He did not add any costs to the price. The vibe at BMW of Monterey is one of teamwork and customer first, Sales people don't fight to claim you as their customer once you walk in the door. It was a huge relief to work with Joseph and his dealership. I am very happy I went bought my car at BMW of Monterey.

We saw a car online and called them to ask if…read morethe car was available and ready, we were ready to buy and we didn't even want to negotiate the price, so the whole process should have been done quickly. I also had a pre-approved loan for the total in-hand and ready to go before we walked in. We got trapped in the dealership for a total of 4 hours, they made us sit in the lobby for over 30 minutes waiting for nothing before any paperwork showed up. Something that should have prepared while we were making our way over. After telling us how much they appreciate the service of our military members, they then let us know that they will not accept checks from Navy Federal Credit Union. We were forced to go with one of their lenders, even though I already had the check in-hand. That would have been nice to know before I already spent an hour in-store! So I had to take an extra hit on my Credit when really I should have just walked out. Luckily my credit score is high enough to take it. We sat for an hour waiting for them to find a loan for us, and we got a lot of rejection letters only because we ALREADY HAD THE DANG CHECK FROM MY BANK so of course new lenders aren't going to want to accept to give a second loan to someone! Whatever, we had already been there for so long, I was not leaving without this car at this point. We then sat there for another 90 minutes while they "finished the paperwork..." but didn't give us any idea of how long that would take so we could have used that time to do something other than sit there and do nothing! (This is hour 3 of trying to entertain our kiddo while we wait by the way). After that 90 minutes we went into some other guy's office and re-hashed all of the information from the past few hours all from scratch. It should have been an email or that other guy should have been present the whole time! He was just walking around the store we saw him several times just strolling! At the end of the transaction when everything finally went through, Walid, the salesman, said we would have to wait another 30 minutes for the car to be detailed. WHY in the last 4 hours was the car was not cleaned?!?!?!? Crazy. After we walked out we discovered that one of the two keys had a dead battery. I asked Walid if he could help get us a new key battery and he said he would "look into it." Fine. I waited a month and then emailed him about it, and he replied over two weeks later saying that he would ask the parts department if they had a key battery for us. It has now been six months and we haven't heard from Walid or BMW at all! All of their claims about caring about their customers are false. They got their money and now they have no interest in continuing to provide service, even after they say they will.
