Stoped in on a Tuesday around 2:00 for a late lunch/ early dinner. The M-F lunch menu runs until 2:30 so we were in luck. I looked to order the Huevos Divorciados for a second time only as I have not seen them on any menus elsewhere. Hot chips brought to the table with salsa. The meal was again served hot and delicious! The red sauce was spicier than the green but both equally delicious in very different ways due to the sauces. It's worth it to know what is good and what is just, meh ok. Been though here a handful of times, always order something different. The menu is like 6 pages long, consistent with other Mexican joints there's endless combinations. Fajitas kind of greasy and I'm not a fan of the mushrooms and zucchini in the mix. Enchiladas are saucy, just too much sauce. Not my favorite. Puff taco really good, seems more fresh, has good combination of flavors. I've had Burrito supreme and Burrito California, both have been my favorite items. They are big, it will fill up larger appetites for sure. read more

I have eaten at Rancho Loco many times (meeting friends half way Rochester/Twin Cities) and it has really gone downhill the last few times I have been there. The chips were old and not fresh (chewy, not crisp) and the salsa tasted like bottled taco sauce, it was not appetizing at all. My burrito was tasteless, we sat in a booth that has been taped up and obviously needs to be replaced. My friends taco salad was taste-less, ground beef had no taste either. The service was meh--our waitress (fake eyelashes) was so rude (I have had her before and she is never nice, and always acts like she is being asked too much when I asked for a refill.). She could be the owner, but she needs a class on being kind to customers. Figure it out, girl! One another thing, the windows were full of flies buzzing around our booth, it was gross. Gave Rancho Loco another shot and it was not good. Like sad, not good. I did appreciate someone opening the door for me when she saw me coming in. I ordered a basic, beef hard shell taco and it was yucky. I barely ate it. It's hard to screw up a taco but this one had a mushy shell, no flavor to the beef and little to no lettuce, cheese, etc. Added salsa to it to jazz it up and it didn't help. I rack it up to the worst taco I've ever had. My friend ordered the fajita quesidilla and she liked her food. It looked appealing. I'm not sure what happened to the awesome chips they used to have (this was several years ago). I didn't even eat the chips and salsa. Chips are lousy - greasy, awful flavor and texture and salsa is no big shake. We ordered queso and again, hard to screw up queso, but it was so runny like water and had no flavor. We didn't even eat it. What really disappointed me is the lack of care around the restaurant. The doors and windows are so smudged up and dirty. It makes it feel unclean. Most of the booth cushions were ripped up. At first he sat me at at a table that's cushions were all ripped up. I would have been sitting on the innards of the booth. Second booth was a slight improvement - but still big, wide rip on the seat. Super bummed on how this restaurant has changed so much. I've driven by this place several times when in town and I thought TODAY is the day!! SO glad I stopped. For a Thursday at lunchtime, it is a popular restaurant, with all the booths that line the windows full, and starting to set at tables. Chips and salsa seem freshly made and are very good. The choriqueso rivaled what we had in Nueva Vallarta Mexico, which we have searched for with no success in the US. (One place in Ohio, I swear, used Velveeta.) Ugh. The Camerones Texacana were large, sweet and perfect. The bacon wrapped around them was not too thin, perfectly smoky, and spice was just right and not too hot. Service was cheerful and not hovering. I've always wanted to stop by to visit this place. It's right off of HWY 52 in Cannon Falls. I stopped for lunch last week. Their lunch special is $7.95, which includes TWO entrees, plus rice & beans. A side of chips & refried black beans are also included. By the time tax was added, the total bill ended up being $8.50! This was a terrific deal for the amount of food provided. There are many options available for the lunch specials. The service was great. For as fast as the food came out, the quality was great. I stopped by here this past Saturday afternoon with my wife for lunch. We were looking for a place to have lunch while heading down 52 from St. Paul down to Rochester whenever we found Rancho Loco on Yelp. Having 5 full Stars on Yelp after 25 reviews, I have to admit that I was quite impressed. So we got off the highway in Cannon Falls and headed on over. Rancho Loco is located in an interesting place behind a strip mall and close by the highway. The inside is decorated with a southwest type theme and their lights are pretty cool hanging from what looks like braided rope. For lunch on this day both my wife and myself chose from their pick 2 menu which gives you two items, rice and beans all for $7.95. I went with the chile relleno and a burrito with chicken as my protein. While waiting for our food we were given chips and salsa as well as a bean dip. The tortillas tasted good and I loved them when paired with the salsa which had a little kick at the end. After only a short wait our food came to us. It was a ton as only my burrito, beans and rice fit on a huge plate. The chile relleno came on its own second plate. My favorite part of the meal was easily the chile relleno. The cheese inside was perfectly melted and tasty while the breading on the outside of the chile was light and crispy. Last but certainly not least was the chicken inside which was moist and juicy. After I had finished with that I dug into the burrito. It was decent but a bit of a letdown after the chile relleno especially with the chicken being a bit drier. Last but not least I tried the rice and black beans. Both were decent and the rice reminded me of a fried rice with everything that it had in it. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. You get a ton of food for your money here and I may dream about that chile relleno! read more

Called and the spoke with the manager and when I was telling him about it he didn't believe me and all he said was "I don't think so" basically giggling. From AZ, in MN for the weekend. Besides the dirty entry way (finger marks all over the front glass door & poorly painted chipped wall with bugs out front gave me an initial scare & worry), the restaurant itself is clean & really pretty. And thankful for that double door preventing the bugs from entering.The skinny margarita is amazing (9000% more delicious than Disneyland's!) & you get to pick whatever tequila you want. I struggled whether I should rate Rancho Loco based on just their locality in Cannon Falls, or based on my experience across all Mexican restaurants. In the end I give them 4 stars based on just their locality. (In So. California which is home to a Mexican restaurant on almost every street corner, Rancho Loco would be just very average and get only 3 stars.) So I have eaten here twice while working in the area, once for lunch and another time for dinner. Both times were positive experiences. The restaurant doesn't look like a Mexican place from the outside (guessing they took over this building?), but inside it does have a Latin vibe along with the darker wood tones. Feels very warm and comfortable inside. Service was decent on both my visits. Both times we were seated promptly and the waiters were efficient and polite. The dinner visit was a group that grew larger as more work colleagues joined us, and our waiter was very accommodating to adjust for us. He seemed genuinely to want us to enjoy ourselves. The menu is typical Mexican fare, and offers quite a lot of choice. Of course like most Mexican food, most of the dishes come from the same half dozen or so ingredients just re-combined in different ways. The chips and salsa ritual were good, but the salsa could have been hotter for my tastes. The food is also all decent, and the portion sizes are generous. One of my colleagues got the "California burrito" or some such thing and the burrito was about the length of my forearm. Everything I had was decent, what I would describe as average. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out as great. If this restaurant was located in my hometown, I wouldn't bother going back because there are just so many other Mexican places to choose from that are better. But in a small city located in rural Minnesota, this is my top choice to return to. (And I have eaten at pretty much every restaurant in Cannon Falls.) read more

So glad we found Rancho Loco while passing by on the highway. Good chips, salsa and beans when we sat down. The sopes were epic. I paid $2 extra to get the pastor on them for more flavor. Piled high with fresh toppings. For my kids the taco/enchilada meal was just right. The chicken strips and fries was gigantic for a kid. Not a problem. Just lots of leftovers. Hubby and I ate here for the first time last night(thurs). They had a pretty good crowd, we sat at the bar( we like to sit there). I ordered a corona and hubby had a deschutes fresh squeezed on tap, he was very happy they had a great beer. Their menu is so big it was hard to decide what to order, chips,salsa and a warm bean dip come complimentary, the chips we're nice and fresh. I really liked the warm bean dip. I ordered taco's al carbon. 2 8" flour tortilla's filled with grilled steak and pico de gallo, comes with rice and beans. They were huge and I could only eat one. I couldn't pick it up because the all of the meat kept falling out, not a bad problem to have. Rice and beans we're good, I just wished they we're a little hotter. I took my left overs home and ate the taco filling on top of a salad today. Meat still had a delicous flavor. Hubby orderd the mixed Brochetas, grilled steak and chicken cooked and served on a skewer with grilled onions,bell peppers and pineapple. Served with mexican rice and a crema salad. He ate the most of the salad so he must of liked it, he was hoping to have tortilla's to wrap his meat in, when I had to remind him that I think your thinking of fajita's and that is not what your ordered.
