The pan dulce here is very tasty, tastes fresh and just the right amount of sweet. They also have a variety of drinks, like Mexican hot chocolate and many others at this location. As for the mil hojas cake, this is not a walk-in and buy cake. This one you have to order a day ahead. Mil hojas is a crunchy pastry and when made to a cake with cream or other sauce with fruit it will get soft if left for more than a day. Also, for this cake you get the option if you want vanilla cream, whip cream, etc. I bought one of these cakes for someone birthday and it was the talk of the party! I promise you, you show up with one of these and everyone will want to know who, what, where and when. This place is on a corner in 13th street. There is actually parking here on the street but also behind the location. You'll have to pull into the parking lot. Be careful as it is narrow to enter and seems kind of hidden. I missed the parking lot sign but I was lucky enough to get street parking so it wasn't an issue. They have ramp and stairs here to enter so if you are in a wheel chair or have a stroller, you'll have no trouble getting in. The place inside looked very clean. There were a couple tables and chairs to sit inside. The place looks new and the inside of the store is colorful, very traditional Mexican. Service was great! There were two ladies there when I went to pick-up my cake and they were friendly and quick to help me out. If you are looking for a Mexican Pan Dulce or cakes, come here! This place has all the traditional cakes and pastries at a reasonable price.

There was nothing fresh here, the bread lacked taste, it was like flour and water cooked and sprinkled with sugar. As a bread maker myself it lacked the airy texture, the smells of vanilla or just a bakery sweet smell aroma. As I was leaving I saw to the right of the cashier a cabinet that had the pinwheel cakes with coconut crumbs on the outside. I don't really like coconut but that looked delicious. So i purchased one. As we got home and handed the kids the cookies with M&M's and orejas and pink conchas. None of them had any flavor. The kids did not even eat the cookies and they love sweets. Everything ended up in the garbage. But! I still had my cake pinwheel! With everyone's disappointment I decided to slice my cake into triangles and give everyone a bite. But, in holding it and slicing it I could already feel the texture of an old stale cake. But, i took a chance and bit into it! And spit it right out!! The red dye in the middle of it was rancid!! Just awful!! This place used to be good at its bread making but has lost it desire to make good pan dulce. There is a place right next to it in the shopping center that makes fresh pan dulce. It's been about five years since my original review of this Churros La Guadalupana location, and I…read morerecently stopped by again with a friend on a weeknight to see how things have changed. A few updates stood out right away. There's a new menu item: fried banana. I didn't try it, but it's there if you want to. The stand itself has also moved into the Paloma Plaza parking lot, giving it a more permanent and "official" setup compared to its old sidewalk spot. The churros didn't quite hit the same as before. On my previous visits, they were made fresh to order, but this time they seemed pre-made. They were still crispy and nicely coated in sugar, but they lacked that warmth and (dare I say it) oiliness that really made them special. Another downside was the filling. The churros we ordered were only partially filled, maybe around a third of the length. This left the rest of the churros empty. We bought two churros, and then another two to confirm this. If you're paying extra for a filled churro, you should expect a more consistent amount throughout. We expected, and that was our mistake, apparently. Because of the drop in both quality (freshness) and quantity (filling), I've had to lower my rating. Ever since, I've started going elsewhere for fresh churros.

So excited to try this place out and it was just ok. Really disappointed that the whole churro did…read morenot have any filling. Spent $3 per churro and it was a little less than half of it had no filling. The vanilla tasted artificial. The cajeta had a burnt taste to it. This was definitely more oily than others I've tried.
