Instead of trying to sell me a new furnace -- He determined it was the thermostat not communicating with the furnace. He had a new digital thermostat in his truck. He called the manufacturer and it was still under warranty so he took the motor and got a new one. 10/10 would recommend to friends and family. My AC has been out for around 5 years. We've made do over the summers with our window units but finally decided it's time to pull the trigger on having it fixed/replaced. Over the years I've had estimates ranging from 7K-10K for a change out of our furnace and air conditioning system. My unit is located on the roof of our house so it requires a crane to change out which makes things even more complicated. Every contractor I've had come out has told me that I need to replace the whole unit. When I asked my handyman to check it out he said it's possible that it might be able to be repaired. Let me just say right now, thank goodness for Randy and Yelp for pointing me in his direction. I sent out a request from to 5 different contractors this afternoon requesting an estimate on repair/replacement of my unit. Randy promptly replied and told me he could in fact get me a free estimate on the unit, and if I was willing to pay a service charge he could diagnose and troubleshoot the unit. I thought, what the heck? Why not, if anything else it will be another estimate to compare apples to apples! Randy came out today (the same day I contacted him) to our home to meet with my mom while I was at work. He checked out the unit on the roof, and after doing so proposed the idea of changing out some parts to see if it would work, and if it did, he'd charge us for the parts, and if it didn't, he'd take his parts and just charge us for the service call. Once again, why not?! Maybe he'll save us a few thousand dollars... Guess what? He got the air conditioner working! Our AC unit is old, and it will break sometime, probably fairly soon. But Randy saved us a ton of money on replacing the unit, and I am so grateful there are people who are honest (and very reasonably priced) that provide service to the Orange County area. When my unit does go out, I know for a fact I will be giving my business to Randy. Integrity, honesty and character are something that you can't put a price on, and this man has those traits in spades. Randy is the man! He saved my family from this year's 115+ heatwave. I called 5 or 6 companies and left messages with all of them when my compressor fan went out. He was the only one who texted back. Caveat to all this is that he didn't do actual work on my system. My review is on the profession character of this company. Randy helped me diagnose the problem because he too was booked weeks out. I'm very handy around the house and very efficient with fixing lots of things around the house, except never done HVAC. . He told me what I need to try to repair and what to look for. This helped me source out the issue and fix it myself (Not recommended unless you're good with electrical and know what you're doing). His responses via text was super fast and to the point. On time! ****** I recently tried to turn my air conditioning on with the summer months approaching and of course my air-conditioning unit was blowing air but of course not cold. I was approached by a company who tried to quote me $10,000, Telling me I needed a whole new system which was not an option at this time. Remember that cold snap in early December? So we woke up one morning and our heater was dead. The house was freezing, I'm a huge wimp when it comes to being cold and we had to head to my daughter's holiday concert at school. While sitting in the auditorium waiting for the show to start, I checked Yelp for heating and air repairmen. I called two, only to find out they had 3 and 4 day waits. Then I called Randy. His message said he was busy, but to send him a text. So I did. He responded almost immediately! He was local and happened to have a spot available in an hour! As we drove up to our house after the concert, Randy pulled in behind us. One hour later, our heat was back on. It felt like a Christmas miracle! While up in our attic, Randy accidentally cracked the piece of drywall that covers up the access point. He ran out to get a piece of replacement drywall, and promised to get another piece textured and painted to match our old one. Days went by and I actually forgot about it, but Randy didn't. Had a GREAT experience wth Randy from Randair this morning.  Called on Thursday to make an appointment for our AC unit to be looked at as it wasn't blowing cold air. Immediately received a text back with an offer to come out the next morning. Unfortunately we had a friend in from out of town and couldn't take that appointment time.  Randy was kind enough to offer to come out first thing Saturday morning- in the short window of time he had before his daughters birthday party! I reached out to Rand Aire after one plumber misdiagnosed a slab leak and another said something was wrong with the heating and air but did nothing to even check out the issue yet charged me.
