I've been a client of Randy's since high school and I've been loyal for a reason. He is so welcoming, kind, and really puts his heart into his work. I get compliments all the time for my hair cut and color! I scheduled an appointment with Randy just for a quick, much needed trim. I was in a rush so he just dry cut my hair and I was in and out in 30 minutes which I really needed with the busy week I had. Usually I have more time to he shampoos my hair and gives the best mini head massage. The products he uses always make my hair very soft, shiny, and feel very lightweight. We also use to the time to catch up and it's sometimes the most relaxing part of my day! Randy has great attention to detail and will go the extra mile to make sure his clients are happy. My last appointment was before my wedding and he stayed an hour and a half late to make sure the color absolutely PERFECT! He is an angel. I wouldn't get my haircut or colored by anyone else. He really listened and knew instantly what needs to be done to get my hair back to where it needs to be. Basically it's all going to come down to patience on my part. Such amazing service! I have never felt more comfortable than ever before sitting in the salon chair having Randy do my hair. Due to my hair being naturally curly, I have a negative mindset when it comes to hair cuts because no matter how much you explain to the stylist, they either leave you with dead ends or cut your hair to short. I went to my comfort zone of telling randy how much to cut off, he said he would do that but he recommended I take a little more off to clean up the dead ends and nothing more. Hesitant of course, but I needed a haircut desperately so I said ok. I left the salon feeling amazing! No one has noticed I have even gotten a hair cut all thanks to Randy cutting only what was necessary and listening to me! Highly recommend this salon for a good hair cut or color. After hopping from salon to salon for the last few years, my mom actually told me about Randy. Seriously, how can you ever doubt your mom? Randy is the best. He's great at listening...shares his very welcome opinions...and when he's done, you leave feeling very happy with your haircut. The prices are reasonable...everybody is friendly...and the work is very consistent. I haven't had any of the other salon services here. My wife had her hair cut by Randy and liked it a lot. I just wasn't impressed with this place, and I certainly wasn't as impressed with them as they were with themselves. I called to get an appointment for an eyebrow wax. The appointment made for about 2-3 hours later. When I showed up a couple minutes early he told me he had to run an errand or some such thing. Really? When he came back it was clear that he'd just gone out to smoke and left me sitting there. There were no other clients there, you couldn't have run out before I arrived? He also had no recollection of why I was there. He thought I was there for a haircut and started messing with my hair. When I said I wasn't there for a cut he told me my hair looked "pretty good." Gee, thanks. So since they were unprepared I had to wait for the wax to heat up. During this time it was discovered that we were in high school at the same time (mainly becaue he asked how old I was, which was kind of rude) and he knew several people in my class. He started dropping names and telling me what a great soccer player of something he was and blah blah blah. I'm an adult now, I don't care to talk about high school. I got my eyebrows done and left. The job he did was fine, but not spectacular. It's too bad because this place is convenient, but I just wasn't impressed, especially since he couldn't be bothered to write down my appointment. read more

I'm not sure who the other reviewer saw, But I have been going to the Randall Brent Salon since it opened, and I have NEVER walked out of there unhappy. Not only are the prices great, but the staff is wonderful ! I have long thick, wavy hair, so finding a stylist that can deal with a mop like mine is hard. But Randy knows what he is doing, and makes my hair look amazing every time. I highly recommend this Salon to anyone looking for a great stylist that can do ANY type of hair, be it long, short, thick or thin, Randy knows his stuff. read more

Randy is amazing! His salon is spacious, clean and professional. Randy as a person is delightful- super upbeat, personable and energetic. I walked in a strawberry blonde with shoulder length hair- walked out a red head with a pixie cut and a new outlook on life! Randy took the time to actually look at my face structure to make sure that I would look GOOD with a pixie cut before picking up his scissors. He talked to me about exactly what I wanted, made sure to consult me about length and style during the cutting, He made sure to make the cut as versatile as possible. He really knows his stuff and takes the time to check his work. His assistant Anna was equally delightful. She colored and styled my hair and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I have been going to Randall Brent Salon for well over 10 years for a men's haircut, and now I am bringing my wife and daughter. Randy is excellent, not just at haircuts (men's or women's) of any kind, but color and style too. My daughter wanted a trendy cut out of a magazine, and Randy was able to do it, and did it spot on. She looks great, and she had so many comments on her style from the other kids at school. There were a few other things my daughter wanted, but Randy explained, that with her hair the way it is, it might not come out the way she wants. I am always impressed at Randy's knowledge of hair and his honesty with explaining the details of may happen. I strongly recommend Randall Brent Salon. I came into this salon to get my makeup done for a wedding. I was supposed to get it done at a different salon but their makeup artist wasn't there that day (for some odd reason). This salon got me in last minute, which was great. Lindsey did an AWESOME job, I would highly recommend her. I got so many compliments on my makeup all night long, and it looks great in pictures. I had gotten my hair done at the other salon and it looked horrible. Super horrible. After Lindsey finished my makeup she fixed my hair too, and it looked great. The staff was really friendly, which was exactly what I needed after leaving the other salon with horrible hair and no makeup. I have tried several different barber shops and salons in the past, but have never really found the consistency I was looking for...that is until now! When I called to see if I could get an appointment, the owner actually picked up and was able to fit me in that same day! When I arrived a few minutes early I was greeted warmly by the owner Randy and his front desk staff. Because I was early they invited me to wait in their waiting area, and were quick to offer refreshments which I though was very accommodating. Randy was very open about trying to find out what I wanted so that he could provide me the best results. Let me say he did not disappoint! I gave him a description of what I wanted and he did a great job of delivering on it. If you are looking for a friendly, relaxing environment in which to get your hair cut/ styled /colored, I recommend trying out Randy's. I will be getting my hair cut here from now on! Randall Brent Salon carries the name of the owner and the owner is a delight! He peppers his style in with yours and it's a match made in hair heaven. I have been visiting this salon for over a year and Randy is very generous with his stylists, so much so that he turned me over to someone else when he was booked and I stayed with her until her recent departure. His location for me is superb (directly off of the Lisle Metra train station stop) and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality of work he does. He listens to you, offers suggestions and is quick with cuts/color and styling but not to the point of cutting corners, he's just that good. I will recommend this salon to anyone because having a good stylist is just so hard to find that when you do, you share. In addition, he offers a satisfaction guarantee that if you find any reason that you need him to adjust anything within a 2 week timeframe, he will handle whatever you need (i.e. maybe you want more color or highlights or you didn't think you wanted to go too short but now you really could use another 1/2 inch off the back). I've been going to Randy for almost 10 years now, and he is exclusively the only person I will allow to take a pair of scissors to my hair. Throughout high school, I always thought I simply had unruly frizzy hair that was doomed to be straightened every day for the rest of my life. At my first appointment with randy, he picked up on the fact that my hair was actually naturally curly, but I had been using the wrong product and hair drying techniques. He gave me a few tips on products to use to reduce frizz and amp up curls, and my hair has been beautifully curly ever since (without having a perm!). Randy is the kind of stylist who only cuts the directed amount of hair off (not more), and is never willing to do anything to your hair that would make it look bad with the natural type of hair you have (curly, straight etc). There have been a couple of times that I've walked into his shop with ridiculous ideas of what I wanted and been convinced (thankfully) not to go there with my hair. Randy truly knows the different types of hair and what does/does not work with them. You can clearly tell that he's in the business because he loves what he does rather than to make money. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALON! I just came back with the worst haircut I have ever had in my entire life. The salon is absolutely filthy, I cannot even imagine how many health code violations are taking place there. Bleach stained towels, hair all over the floor, combs and brushes that have probably been never cleaned. The owner took about 5 minutes to cut my hair and it has absolutely no shape and does not even remotely look like the picture I brought - I wanted an angled bob and have a straight blunt mop on my had right now. I also had an eyebrow wax appointment but the receptionist forgot about it - thank GOD!,I don't even want to know what the waxing station looks like.
