The Greek salad with the gyro platter was fries! It had rice wrapped in grape leaves, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, olives, and red onions. With light olive oil and light vinegar. The platter also had 5 pieces of gyro beef strips and a nice warm pita bread. I wish it was half lamb/beef would be great! Also, the side of fries were a lot. We came here on a very early Saturday morning and it was very nice that they allowed us to reserve prior since we were a big group. The service was very nice, but I do have to mention that they add a 20% gratuity tip to groups bigger than four. I ordered an omelette with mushrooms, ham, cheese, and avocado. I have to say that this is my first time ever having an omelette where the avocado is not on top, but rather mixed in with the rest of the items inside the omelette; it was definitely not my preference and a very interesting way to add avocado to an omelette. OK, I ended up adding hot sauce to it to let it have some sort of flavor as it seems that they don't use any spices at all. First time visiting Randolph Diner and I was quite surprised how large and modern it is. While waiting was looking at their bakery display case has a ton of delicious dessert options. The wait time wasn't long (5-10 mins) for us to get called for our seating. The wait staff was friendly, quick, and attentive. We ordered their breakfast--had Eggs Benedict and an Omelette--it was all great. Definitely will return to taste some of their other items on the menu and leave some room for dessert. read more

Came here for lunch and servers are all standing around on their phone. My server only came over once right after the food got the table and then left without even letting us know she was leaving. Some other server brings the check and says here you go so I had to ask where our server went only to be told she was gone already. Extremely unprofessional. Normally I'm pro server but we sat there without getting drink refills and an MIA server. This place really needs to do better. Have finally had it with this place. There are so many problems with this place with food, service, and the filth this place had, we simple decided to no longer spend our money or time on this place. Most of the people in there not all, are there to two face you to see how much money they can get from you. The food is frozen garbage made by people who have no clue on how to cook. Your paying rip off prices for garbage that flies land on. All this happens in plain view and they will lie to your face, say its not their problem, or tell managers that do nothing about it. There were flies around every where landing on our table at a door leading into a room, and even flying around the desert case. That's one main reason we stopped ordering deserts there. One week later after the waitress Wendy had stated she told the day time manager, nothing was cleaned. The last straw is when we walked into the place and saw both outside doors wide open. Hey all! I've been going to the Randolph diner since I was a kid, prior to the renovations and beautification of their building. Probably 15+ years. I still remember it from when I was a teenager being quite different. The large interior gives this place an upscale feel, but the food maintains the diner status for sure - they have it all! I have never waited for a table longer than a few minutes, even with a group of 8, because of the amount of space. Parking can be tricky yes, but it proves that people keep coming back! Wait staff are friendly, though sometimes could use more training. I think it's tough when you have to have so many people working at once, but the food is really the focus here. I've gotten plenty of things off the menu but have a couple favorites: red velvet and chocolate chip pancakes, the waffle (with fruit, chicken, or however), vanilla milkshake, the fries (and brown gravy!), and the chicken finger panini or wrap. Very rarely am I disappointed with my meal - and usually it's something small and they are happy to make sure you have a good experience. Recently I tried their Moscow mule and loved that, too! Went for breakfast there this morning. The food was close to the worst I have ever had (and I am 72). Everything single thing had a rancid aftertaste. My mother-in-law is a very shy person and did not feel comfortable complaining during the meal, so we only became aware of the issue at the end. When we brought it to the server's attention, the manager/owner came to our table and immediately demanded to know why we had not complained earlier. Rather than handling the situation professionally, he put my mother-in-law on the spot and embarrassed her in front of the entire table. It was completely unnecessary and made an uncomfortable situation even worse. What was most disappointing was the apparent assumption that we were trying to get something for free. The dessert case has an array of cakes and pies (all huge). We got a western omelette with home fries and pancakes. We also got a portion of plain French toast. Portions were generous. Any other breakfast or brunch spot for the same food would charge you at least $10 more with food that's usually equal or inferior in quality. I also loved that the menu has some generous combo options. If you're like me, you've probably been frustrated with menus where you can't quite seem to get everything you want to try in one order, you gotta sacrifice at least one thing (unless you go to IHOP, but then you probably wouldn't be reading this anyway). With my Build Your Own Omlette, I was able to get pancakes and home fries on the side. Was it way too much food to eat in one sitting? Yeah. Did I love that I got to try it all? Hell yeah! For my tastes, all the food needed more flavor. That's not a huge issue at a breakfast spot since I gotta add tobasco or some other hot sauce to my breakfast food anyway. The omelette was huge, came with generous portions of spinach, mushroom, and roasted red peppers that I ordered. It was cooked to be just the right amount of fried and fluffy. Would recommend! Similarly, the pancakes were serviceably fluffy and cooked just right. Diners are always tricky as they have so many options available, that I feel they are never specialized on anything so everything is ok. The place is family friendly, as they give you coloring paper and crayons when you get in there. The kids menu options are pretty good, but the dishes are just ok. Had spaghetti meatballs from the kids menu and the sauce tasted like pre-made and the meatballs had nothing special. I had the farmer's omelette and it was good, played safe as I feel is hard to go wrong with eggs overall. Service was nice, everyone pretty friendly. read more

Since moving to Randolph, the diner has been one of our go to places as it's close to where we live. However, service and food quality has began to decline. The last few times we've gone it's been a waiting game waiting for our waiter/waitress to come back after taking our orders for meals. This past Thursday we went and we barely sat down and the waiter asked what we wanted to drink- we hadn't even had a chance to look at a menu. He came back shortly and had to ask that he come back as we were still looking at the menu and seemed annoyed. After giving my drink order he went to take the drink menu and I asked that he leave it because I still wanted to look at it. Again seemed annoyed at this request. For the amount of money the diner charged their food quality has seem to go down over the last couple years. Also not sure what is happening in the kitchen as the last few times our orders have come out wrong or over done or with the paper still on the hamburger that keeps them separate when buying in bulk. The chicken tenders are not what they used to be not sure if they switched their distributor but they used to be so much better. Chicken quesadilla can also use more cheese. Mozzarella sticks are they only thing that have maintained consistency. At this point don't waste your money on mixed drinks at the diner. They're usually just whatever the mixer is. We got margaritas the other night and it was pretty much just pineapple juice I was drinking. The drinks also used to be much better and have also gone down hill. Been going here for years, always enjoyed ourselves and always satisfied. Last 3 times we went, the fried calamari was undercooked and rubbery (usually delicious). Another time burgers were over cooked when we asked for medium rare. Last time I ordered Irish fries, they were awful, dry, the bacon was old and the cheese was hard and rubbery. The first time I reviewed this place was over a decade ago-before their renovations. Over the past 5 years or so I've probably eaten here at least once every two months and it's always great. It's also usually pretty busy, but I've never had to wait for a table...a parking spot maybe, but not a table. We usually come here for either breakfast or lunch, but regardless of WHEN you come, you won't leave hungry. Yeah, it's a little pricey, but their portions are pretty big. For lunch or dinner I can usually pull two meals from an order. They also have a liquor license here so if you want to hang out in the bar area and watch a game...you can. There are.
