However, today was our last and final day that will be coming here, this Steiner has taken a nose dive completely downhill, my wife had a cheesesteak wrap, and I had a chicken Portobello mushroom wrap they both came out horrible the potato salad they served with it was sour just so happens. The burger was so greasy the bun was almost non existent with that grease saturation making it fall apart. The fries were not crispy and just meh. The turkey wrap was as dry as a bone and not flavorful. Then we decided the desserts " looked good". The mocha layer cake was OLD. Met up for brunch. First time coming here and I heard only goods things even though their Yelp rating was mid. The place is not your average Jersey diner. It's got a contemporary look and with higher end decor. I was impressed. We sat at the bar and our server was eager to help. He got a Denver omelet with semi burned white toast. They put the burned side on the inside so upon presentation, it looked OK. He wasn't happy but he also wasn't gonna make a big deal about burned toast. I got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with fries. Spacious and modern dining establishment with an upstairs area (for private events I'm assuming) as well as bar/counter seating. Service is professional and not too pushy. Menu items contain the expected comfort foods from a diner (disco fries, Greek and Italian style dishes, burgers, sandwiches and breakfast items). The dessert case has an array of cakes and pies (all huge). We got a western omelette with home fries and pancakes. We also got a portion of plain French toast. Portions were generous. The omelette was very yummy (had plenty of onions, peppers and ham). The home fries were shredded potatoes that were perfectly browned and crispy on the outside. The pancakes were also big. What's with the hostesses?!?! They are the first people you see when you enter the diner; they're unwelcoming and unfriendly. They don't greet you when you come in nor do they smile. The entire experience throughout our meal is seeing these un-smiling and un-friendly hostesses as they seat other customers. It should be "Welcome to Randolph Diner". When you leave, "Thank you for coming, come again!". A simple greeting with a smile would go a long way. read more

Been going here for years, always enjoyed ourselves and always satisfied. Last 3 times we went, the fried calamari was undercooked and rubbery (usually delicious). Another time burgers were over cooked when we asked for medium rare. Last time I ordered Irish fries, they were awful, dry, the bacon was old and the cheese was hard and rubbery. Diners are always tricky as they have so many options available, that I feel they are never specialized on anything so everything is ok. The place is family friendly, as they give you coloring paper and crayons when you get in there. The kids menu options are pretty good, but the dishes are just ok. Had spaghetti meatballs from the kids menu and the sauce tasted like pre-made and the meatballs had nothing special. I had the farmer's omelette and it was good, played safe as I feel is hard to go wrong with eggs overall. Service was nice, everyone pretty friendly. read more

Is it fair to even call this place a diner? The food is way better than what I'd expect from a diner and the place has got a sleek, modern design. I loved sitting on the roofed patio, which allows you to enjoy the fresh air or sunlight, but also has shades and heaters so you're never uncomfortable. What I love about the menu is that the prices are perfect. Any other breakfast or brunch spot for the same food would charge you at least $10 more with food that's usually equal or inferior in quality. I also loved that the menu has some generous combo options. If you're like me, you've probably been frustrated with menus where you can't quite seem to get everything you want to try in one order, you gotta sacrifice at least one thing (unless you go to IHOP, but then you probably wouldn't be reading this anyway). With my Build Your Own Omlette, I was able to get pancakes and home fries on the side. Was it way too much food to eat in one sitting? Yeah. Did I love that I got to try it all? Hell yeah! For my tastes, all the food needed more flavor. That's not a huge issue at a breakfast spot since I gotta add tobasco or some other hot sauce to my breakfast food anyway. The omelette was huge, came with generous portions of spinach, mushroom, and roasted red peppers that I ordered. It was cooked to be just the right amount of fried and fluffy. Would recommend! Similarly, the pancakes were serviceably fluffy and cooked just right. Since moving to Randolph, the diner has been one of our go to places as it's close to where we live. However, service and food quality has began to decline. The last few times we've gone it's been a waiting game waiting for our waiter/waitress to come back after taking our orders for meals. This past Thursday we went and we barely sat down and the waiter asked what we wanted to drink- we hadn't even had a chance to look at a menu. He came back shortly and had to ask that he come back as we were still looking at the menu and seemed annoyed. After giving my drink order he went to take the drink menu and I asked that he leave it because I still wanted to look at it. Again seemed annoyed at this request. For the amount of money the diner charged their food quality has seem to go down over the last couple years. Also not sure what is happening in the kitchen as the last few times our orders have come out wrong or over done or with the paper still on the hamburger that keeps them separate when buying in bulk. The chicken tenders are not what they used to be not sure if they switched their distributor but they used to be so much better. Chicken quesadilla can also use more cheese. Mozzarella sticks are they only thing that have maintained consistency. At this point don't waste your money on mixed drinks at the diner. They're usually just whatever the mixer is. We got margaritas the other night and it was pretty much just pineapple juice I was drinking. The drinks also used to be much better and have also gone down hill. Surprisingly their cheesecake was actually very good. Nice and creamy and fresh. Most diners don't seem to have fresh cakes and desserts due to sitting in the fridge. read more

I was there for lunch with a friend. I ordered the buffalo chicken sliders and they were really disappointing. The chicken was a flat, breaded chicken patty that was cut into 4 pieces and put on the slider buns. 2 of the buns were stale and hard, so I only ate the other 2. For $14.95 I expected a higher quality sandwich. I will say that the fries were good. Went at 1pm on a weekday with 4 ladies. We got a nice booth. It was crowded but not noisy. Very nice decor and atmosphere. We could talk and hear each other easily. Waiter was friendly. Eggs, pancakes, wraps and hamburgers were all good. One star deduction for not refilling my coffee until we were finished eating, I should not have to ask for that. read more
