Randy is a friggin genius. He is responsive, respectful, knowledgeable and able to determine the best response in an emergency situation. No one ever thinks they're going to be in an emergency when they need a mechanic ASAP but I've been in the situation several times and each time Randy has been More responsive than AAA. The first emergency was a tow and emergency repair due to a faulty hose. He took care of me and I was so grateful. The second emergency was tonight after I drove through a huge pothole and the fuel cut off switch was activated. I didn't even know I had a fuel cut off switch until the flashers went on and I had to pull off to the side of the road.Unfortunately it was rush-hour traffic at dusk on I five in Portland. AAA was going to take hours and I was in a dangerous spot. Randy was able to come to my help via phone with a YouTube video and walk me through the switch.I was freaked out and in a dangerous situation and he came through. Got my truck up and running. Had several issues that he found. Very courteous. And he let me find the parts I needed to reduce costs.

Requested A/C repair or replacement on my travel trailer. Original request placed months ago by phone and in person at the Concord location. I was always told that Randy (the owner) did the mobile service. I gave all the information requested and was told by the shop person (Jason as I recall). That he would have Randy get in touch with me. Randy never called. I reached out a few more times and still got no call back. I waited for several months and reached out again. Still no response from Randy. The RV repair space is rather small and my trailer is 34" would have been difficult to take in so I wanted the "Mobile RV Service that they advertise. Now many months have passed and still I have not received a call from Randy. The in office person always told me that he gave my name and cell phone number to Randy. Every time I reached out I got no service. So, I have to say Randy may have good reviews but it was a big disappoint to me that he just ignored my request for service. I had my vehicle towed to Randy's for a hole in the gas tank. Jason at the shop told me they can't find a gas tank matching my car and recommended welding it at a welding shop for $900. Jason said the welding shop will not give a warranty for their work but they do an excellent job. I agreed. After the gas tank was welded I picked up the car, it cost me near $1300. A week later I smelled gas in my car and called Randy's. Jason said bring the car back and we will look at it. Due to my negative experience I took the car to another shop where they find a leak from where it was welded. The other shop replaced my gas tank for a lot less than $900. I called Jason back and told him about the leak and my wife took the empty leaky gas tank back and showed it to him. I asked Jason for possibly getting some money back since the repair lasted about a week but he said he is not authorized to give me any money back. read more

This is one of those overdue reviews. Randy and the crew were communicative, thorough, and go the extra mile to get things right. They were also super nice to me even though I showed up on the wrong day, with a fuel leak, no less. Even though my early arrival was quite the deviation from their well managed schedule, they kindly got the vehicle into a safe enough state that I could leave and come back on the right day. At that point, they troubleshot a tricky brake system and an even trickier injector line system (turns out uhaul got "special" lines for their old e-350s). Turns out you can't order those. I was impressed because 1. they figured that out in the first place, and 2. they magically modified a standard e-350 line and made it work (!) Thank you for being so kind, professional, and doing a great job. I don't know that any other shop would've been able to keep this thing safely running. read more

Great service!! Had a 08 Toyota Sienna with a rare oil return line leak. I pulled in the shop with leaked oil all over the under-hood and come out very clean and quite running Van. Met the owner Randy who personally did the job and explained things clear and thorough. Randy has been in the business a long time and they do work on vans/cars besides RVs. I was referred to Randy by a long time friend who I knew wouldn't send me down the wrong path. We brought our Tahoe to Randy to change out the driver's seat (it had broken due to age, wear & tear). What we all thought would be a simple take seat out, put new seat in turned into a month + long process of trying to locate a "new" used seat for this vehicle (we didn't want to spend $1200 on a new seat in a 10 year old truck). After the first 2 seats were delivered to Randy and both seats were not what the sender had said it would be (even though pictures were sent and promises were made), we thought Randy and his team would give up and advise us to call the dealership and order a new one. We were wrong! Randy kept at it and seat after seat, & call after call - Randy finally found the correct seat that would work in the truck. I live in SF, but was buying a car in Concord. I needed a used car check and I needed it done in a hurry if I was going to get the sale. I called Randy's on a Tuesday afternoon and set a tentative appointment for the next day with Jessie. I was only able to confirm it after hours (after the price haggling was done with), but Randy called me back and assured me I could have the vehicle inspected in the morning before the current owner's other appointment at 10:00 AM. The short story is that Randy's came through for me and did their pre-purchase inspection starting at 8:00 AM and the seller was able to take it back at 9:30, all while I was working in San Jose! The car passed inspection and I felt confident in completing the sale. Because the vehicle was in near perfect condition they didn't charge me for all the time they could have. Brought my Motor Home in, after having it worked on by a mechanic that Randy had referred me to. The referral was due to Randy's hectic schedule, at the time. He said that because he had referred me to someone else, and that party did not finish the job properly, he felt that he could not have me pay for his additional work. I just found this diamond in the rough a few months ago. I can tell you nobody is perfect. I brought my car in for some work and I had some issues with the service the team provided me. I reached out to the shop and Nick and Scott were above and beyond with their customer service. I eventually spoke with Randy who insisted on coming to my residence and inspecting my car. A relatively minor issue was causing major problems and as soon as Randy fixed it, the car was running great. My old Honda Accord died in Martinez one night by the freeway. I was stressing because I had just bought the car used on Craigslist for $1700. By chance I saw Randy's online and called them. They sent a tow-truck out for $100 and had it towed to their shop, no worries. They fixed the problem in a few days and the car has been good going on a year and a half since then. Just picked up my 5th wheel from Randy's. As usual they did an awesome job. I had a periodic electrical issue that had been looked at, unsuccessfully, by other repair facilities. They found and repaired it!! They also take the time to really look at your trailer and point out potential areas of concern. They found that the leaf spring bushings were worn and, after discussing it with me, replaced them and installed new bolts. I am very impressed that they are very honest and clear about how long a job might take, and make sure that I (or any customer), agrees before going forward. When they find another issue the always call to discuss it ahead of time. I highly recommend Randy's. Over the past 8 years I have been to a number of repair facilities. Randy's has been absolutely fantastic to me and everyone I've recommended to them. I showed up with a project truck I just bought on Craigslist. I wanted them to check it mechanically to make sure it would be safe to drive while I made it look nice. I've seen a lot of independent shops that would think the golden goose just walked in. Randy was straight up and clear with me about problems that my truck had. He recommended where I could save lots of time and money by combining several things at once and buying parts off craigslist. And the best part is he's always as excited about the truck as I am. He genuinely loves anything with wheels. Our 2010 Sprinter ERA Camper van ( 61,000 miles) needed shocks and struts, wheel alignment, the refrigerator propane system had failed, and we had a handful of other Camper-related issues. Can't thank Randy and his company enough. We were passing through California when we hit some bumps in the road and our hanger snapped off of our frame. Tires were rubbing against eachother and we were stuck on the side of a busy road. We called Randy and he made us priority due to our situation. Randy went out of his way to get the appropriate tools and kept us up to date while we waited. When he showed up he was ready to get us back on the road safely. This was no small job, requiring a lot of welding, and we were able to travel several hundred miles, safely, to our final destination thanks to him. Simply the best! I've been using this RV house-call service for years. He has always done a great job at a fair price. We live in our trailer full time so taking it in for service is impossible. I called Randy last week because my refrigerator/freezer was not keeping things cold. He gave me a set of instructions to troubleshoot and diagnose the problem before he came out. I went to Randy's to get a prepurchase inspection for a 16' used box truck I was considering to purchase for my business. They said they would charge $250 for the inspection, which seemed steep, but I figured it was worth it since we were paying a fair amount for the truck anyway! I booked my reservation the day before (when most other mechanics shops said they were too busy to take us). We had never seen the truck, and even before I had them inspect it, it was clear it was in worse shape than I expected. The guys here were really patient, and said they wouldn't begin billing me until I was sure I even wanted them to do an inspection. In the end we let the truck go and didn't get an inspection done. The guys at Randy's were all really understanding, and even gave us the preinspection form they used so we could have a means of really evaluating the trucks we would be looking at in the future. They also gave me a lot of advice in general about purchasing a truck. They did not bill me for anything. These guys seem like they genuinely care. read more

Somehow I forgot to rate this company when I was in last but my friend being scammed out of her hard earned money made me throw out their name and then realize my having dropped the ball on a Yelp review. This company is great! Very honest and knowledgeable, they took in my bucket/lemon monster and got her running a-OK. While I quickly traded her in to the dealership the minute the check engine lights were turned off (calm down, they did the actual work to get her there), Randy and crew talked me through ALL of her "quirks" and helped me decide what was worth fixing and what was worth holding off on. They didn't hassle me for money to fix stuff that wasn't life threatening and they called before working on each and every "wtf is this now" thing that popped up while under the hood. The final bill was a lot less than what was quoted for the work that was done. Additional stars go to the easy drop off situation they have set up, and for the honest conversation about the life of my vehicle.
