You've got to appreciate that this automotive repair shop is located on none other than Detroit Avenue! Joe's knowledge of how to work on classic cars and his passion for his work is evident when you meet him. Now they work on more than just classics, they work on everything including our RV and even though it's called "Just Joe's", it's really also Kristine in the office making things happen in the background... While most places won't touch an RV with a ten foot pole, they embraced us. Why? Because they're also passionate RVer's. We met Joe and his better half Kristine while staying at the beach in our RV. They were next to us and Joe noticed we had a leak under the power steering pump. He told us to talk with Kristine and she'd handle getting the parts from FORD, and to bring it in. A week later we got a call from Kristine to bring it on over. Now they're an hour away from where we live but the trip was well worth it. Not only did Kristine get the parts, she got them under warranty and they did all the work for us for free! Ford shipped them the wrong pump, but Joe figured a way to make it work by using the pulley off of the old one so we wouldn't have any delays. It's that kind of thinking outside of the box that's hard to find anymore. And, they even offered to buy me lunch while I waited for the work to be done! With all of the horrors stories out there about repair shops and especially ones that are even willing to work on RV's, we were thrilled with how they handled the job and we were able to get back out doing what we love. It is rare in today's world to find people who take such pride in their work, and go above and beyond what is required. When I meet people like that I am very loyal to them. I can't thank Kristine and Joe's enough for being those kind of people, and for providing the kind of service that they do!! I especially appreciate the regular calls and e-mails with status updates on how the car is doing! I can't believe it's been more than four years since I last took my car to Just Joe's Automotive. (It's been all oil changes since then.) I had these parts replaced: rotors, brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, shocks, end links, sway bar bushings as well as all of the fluids. I e-mailed Joe's as to their availability and Kristine responded and set up an appointment for me. When I said I was considering shocks, she recommended some. (And the ones she recommended were the same ones I already had in mind!) After dropping off my car at Joe's, I was later called by Kristine. She said most of the parts I wanted replaced don't need replacing. Can you see the honesty and integrity there? They were trying to save me money since my existing parts were OK! She asked what I was trying to do. I said I am going on a long drive with the car, and I want to take care of any problems before they happen. She suggested replacing the hoses with silicon hoses, and I said sure. After explaining my reasons for selecting the parts I did, and that I understood that my current parts were not needing immediate replacement, she agreed to do the work. She also suggested I get two leaks repaired, which I agreed to. You can trust a bunch of strangers on the Internet, or you can trust Kristine with her real world experience of what parts and procedures work. Next time, I'm going to save myself the hassle of reading reviews and suggesting parts and just ask Kristine what she thinks. Her answers matched or exceeded what I was able to figure out after my research. I can't help but feeling I might have done better just letting her order the parts without adding my two cents. The topper? The silicon hose set I suggested was one hose short. Rather than leave me with one old un-replaced hose, they ordered the correct replacement and had it installed. They didn't embarrass me and my part selecting skills, they just took it upon themselves to solve the problem. In the old days, you could take your car to the dealer, and that was the highest level of service you could get. My opinion is that those days are long past us. I've taken my car to Kristine / Joe's twice, and both times the car was taken care of in a manner that exceeded my expectations. They are leaps and bounds ahead of any dealerships in my area. As for the car, you don't realize how you slowly lower your standards over time to accept the lower levels of performance your car gives you as it ages. Last time I took it in, Kristine thought my end links were bad because of the noises it made during cornering. (That's why I brought up end links this time.) She was right. New end links mean braking while cornering no longer produces a cracking sound. The new bushings mean the sway bars are doing what they supposed to, and the feedback during turns is less vague. The new shocks mean when going over a speed bump the car doesn't sound like a worn out mattress. The new rotors / pads / lines / fluid mean hitting the brakes silently stop the car instead of producing a sound like an overloaded washing machine. They also let me keep my old parts in case a future owner might want the stock ones! I originally bought this car used. I said to myself, "Wow, if the car is this great with 78K miles on it, I wonder what it was like new." I don't have to wonder now. It handles like a new car thanks to all their hard work. The car has much less age related noise now. For example, I happened to mention off-hand that the fuel pump seemed loud to me. Rather than have me risk $1500 on two new fuel pumps which may or may not be quieter, they replaced the fuel filter, which they noticed was original. (And possibly clogged causing the fuel pumped to work harder.) Sure enough, the fuel pumps are quieter now. Not silent, but better than before. The high pitched whine is gone and what remains seems normal. And the leak repairs Kristine suggested? I was too afraid to do them because I heard on the Internet they were expensive "big jobs" so I never brought them up. It wasn't a big expensive job at Joe's! I'm happy to have the car back. OVER 8 MONTHS WAIT !?!? First let me start by saying this WAS my go to shop. I've recommend several friends and classic car owners over the years. If I needed something done on my 67 Mustang, that I couldn't take care of myself, I'd give them a call. I really like Joe, He's a great mechanic, great to talk to and always explained everything before starting the work. However, Dealing with Scheduling side of things have drastically changed. I have now been waiting for a call back to schedule bringing my car in for about 8 months. It all started back in MAY 2018... I called and talked to the Woman who was in charge of scheduling about bringing my car in to have a new power steering slave cylinder mount welded on. I was given a date of about 2 weeks out and they would call to confirm the following week (Never called). When I called them back (about a week later) I was told they were waiting on parts to clear up a lift, so It'd be another 1-2 weeks. I told them this was fine. Again no call back. I called again (about 2 weeks later) and get a new response of we have a few cars sitting that needed more work then we originally thought. It would now be 4 - 6 weeks, But I was on the list and would be notified ASAP. Early SEPTEMBER... I realize I haven't received a call back and call again to ask when I can bring it in. Same response... 4-6 weeks, we're sorry, not our fault, etc. Again I really like Joe as a mechanic so I say (begrudgingly) that's fine, let me know. Cut to early December... I've been traveling a lot for work and time has flew by. I FINALLY receive a call back to check if I still needed an appt. I reply with an ecstatic YES!!! and was told I would be contacted by the end of day (Thursday) to confirm a time.... Well...Monday morning I call them back . I am told (rudely) that they haven't forgotten and I will be notified as soon as they've completed the schedule. I check again a week later...Same rude response... Well that was that.... Cut to now February 1st 2019... I figure what the heck, My works been busy too, its a new year, let bygones be bygones....I'll give them one more chance. SAME EXACT RESPONSE... Waiting on space.... I then explained that I've been waiting since JUNE! Their response was sorry, it is what it is, call back in 4 - 6 weeks... Unless something changes I definitely would no longer recommend Just Joe's. read more

Called just Joes on Tuesday with a problem with our RV. We had called the manufacturer of our hot water system and they told us what part we needed. Our next call was to Just Joe's. They ordered the part overnight delivery. The next morning we took the RV to Just Joe's and they began repairs immediately and they are handling the claim with our extended warranty. We were supposed to leave in our RV to go to our daughters destination wedding on Thursday. Just Joe's made it possible to leave on time. Exemplary service very nice and knowledgeable people. My wife and I have now taken three vehicles to Just Joe's. I live about 25 miles away and would probably drive 100 miles after what I've experienced. I am still amazed at the level of competence and integrity I've experienced this past year. Most recently, I brought in a 1968 Ford F100. I asked Joe to please check it out and tell me what he would recommend. They replaced and repaired suspension, steering, cooling, and ignition parts, then tuned and balanced my 52-year-old pickup. It now idles so smoothly I can hardly tell it's running...suspension, steering, and acceleration are excellent!! I'm finding excuses to run errands just so I can cruise this puppy... OMG! This place is as good as it gets! Our R.V. (yes, RV) was in need of engine repairs and for anyone who knows rv mechanics, they are booked out months. We stumbled across Just Joe's who was recommended by a local radiator repair shop. The radiator shop said Just Joe's does fantastic work and told us to give them a call. Just Joe's could not have been nicer. Just Joe's does not have a large parking lot to hold rv's but they told us to bring it down anyway for them to look at. Not only did they make the repairs, but they worked in sync with the radiator shop to install a new radiator (radiator shop lot was way too small, so Just Joe's did the install). Just Joe's not only diagnosed the issue, but also figured out why it was happening and installed some custom components to hopefully prevent a repeat. Most mechanics just make repairs, Just Joe's diagnosed, troubleshooted, repaired, troubleshooted again, and then provided a 2-year legit warranty on their work. We've made 2 trips since the repairs, and we are thrilled to say everything is working perfectly. We know that Just Joe's is not an rv repair shop, but if you are having engine or chassis issues, we highly recommend them. We know that you will feel confident in their services, and we can't recommend them highly enough. They are truly an honest shop with an extremely knowledgable and professional crew. Worth the wait... I have maintained my 1967 Corvette since I restored it in 2000. Small block was constantly overheating. Carburetor was rebuilt 3 times but engine continued to stumble and car had vibration at highway speed... had thought it was an "old car" issue until I took it to Joe. He ran through the whole car, defined the problem areas and gave me a parts breakdown and cost estimate for each one. Every month I would call, they had no idea when they could get it in, or, the infamous "4-6 weeks" like another reviewer posted. I have to tell you I had to work hard to find a Diesel Mechanic Shop to work on our Wood Fired Pizza Food Truck. Once I found Just Joe's I was so impressed. Christina had to work hard to find all the info on our 1987 Truck. She got her team to go through the truck and give me a huge laundry list. We started with getting the safety items for the truck fixed. I got a great price and had it all done. They even held the truck for an extra day while I was sick. I have been driving the truck a lot in the last couple of days since picking it up and it runs better than ever. We really needed to get this truck to be very safe and they did a great job. I had work done for tire studs, they seemed very good at their the job work went well ,they found a couple of issues and they were supposed to tell me for the work order to proceed but didn't but that ok it seemed all was good,they told me when replacing the studs they had to remove my axles to insert the studs and they told me they gave me a differential service for me due to the taking out the axles i was grateful, thought they were awesome for this .not.?. I took my truck to the dealer for routine service they spotted a leak on my differential i asked them to inspect this because of what Joes did for me and wanted proof of who was not telling the truth it turned out to be Just Joes, the dealer found the oil was at least 10 years old and could not have been serviced in the last 6 months i was very hurt by this i called them and informed them how upset i was all i got was to bring back in so they can see what had happened i of course said sorry but the trust had been broken and i couldn't be sure even if i went back that the information they would tell me would be honest i hope they don't do this to anyone else please check their work and get proof of problems before any new work orders get approved for extra issues i hope this was helpful please be careful. I was taken by surprise and hurt by this P.S. Want to say what a pleasure it was to meet such a great team in Joe and Kristen, very personable people who make working with and expressing my ideas very easy. I have a 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8, that I'm very particular with who on works on it. I gave Kristen my ideas and products I wanted, they did the research and came back with some changes and a better product with an estimate that save me money. Joe went over the installation plan, walked me through the process. Which made me feel like I had some part in the installation process. So what was done; Installed new supercharger, powered coated tubes, new suspension, lower car, pillar gauges that match, cleaned and buffed out and a detail personalize step by step with pictures album, which Kristen put together on there own.
