Im giving the folks at LCD 5 stars, having recently picked up an older 03 6.0, I wound up at LCD to get some work done. Through the conversation and other considerations I decided to do the stud/egr cooler work while addressing the original reason for the visit (several oil leaks, bad ICP, etc). There are some deltas in the labor that made it pretty cost effective. There were some concerns early on, with the pace of the work and communication, but Rob and Austin and the team listened to my feedback and made changes to keep me in the loop. I appreciated the corrective action and won't hold it against them in the review, but it should be mentioned if you share a similar experience. Just talk to em. Took my 7.3 here to perhaps change my abs sensors . Talked to the guy ross I believe and at first didn't even want to look at my truck because it had a tuner but idk what that has to do with abs . Anyway i dropped it off and the get a call saying its ready for pick up . I unfortunately couldn't make it and had my wife pick it up and no receipt or anything was given to her after we paid for them to "look at it" . I called and said what was wrong and they suggested me re doing my entire front end re done and was told it was going to be almost at 5 thousand dollar job including brakes and roders and ball joints . All i wanted was my abs sensors replaced and got my money wasted for them just to "look at it" and still walk out with the same issue i came in with . No help whatsoever, waste of time and money. I brought My 2002 7.3 excursion to Ross. I had fuel in the cooling system due to injector cup failure. Ross was up front and honest with issues and the what my options were with detailed break downs of each with reasons for his recommendation based on our consultation of what this truck servers to my family. I had the pleasure of having Jacob as the lead mechanic for my truck since he was the 7.3 expert at the shop. My interaction with Jacob from a diesel truck enthusiast perspective (not a mechanic) and only in tune with the trucks I own. Jacob was respectful and very professional, as well were the other 2 mechanics that helped. Jacob was very knowledgeable and thorough. through the entire duration of the project both Ross and Jacob were diligent in updating me on progress and notifying with pitfalls for sourcing parts which led to the project going longer than they estimated and no fault to Ross or Jacob since its an older truck and parts are hard to find. Some parts they even had to learn to make. After the job was completed and they returned the truck back she sounded perfect and ran great and hopes that with good routine maintenance from this shop this truck will continue to serve my family for many years to come. I would profoundly like to thank Ross, Jacob and the rest of the team. They were great and I think they well understand what diesel trucks mean to their owners. The mechanics seem to take great pride in mastering their craft. It was evident that some of the parts that no are no longer available and they had to make took a lot more hours than what I was billed in the contracted work order day 1 and I'm convinced from my encounter with Jacob, he spent time at home off duty trying to solve my trucks problems. My truck was left with this shop (Rob). The odometer was broken. So he and his staff decided to operate my truck for their own personal use. Once the work was finally completed, the truck went into limp mode and the dome lights were ruined by his mechanic. I returned it. They tried to tell me it was in limp mode because I did not know how to operate my truck. Lol. Finally they said they would look it over. I come to Left Coast Diesel when my check engine lights come on for my 2014 and 2015 F250s. The shop manager is quick to run a diagnosis for me and advise me on what codes are triggering the lights. Usually it's a easy reset of the system or something that's covered under my Ford warranty that the dealer takes care of. They are always honest with me and I trust them. I recently bought a 2001 ram 2500 4x4 that needed a bunch of things sorted out to get it running correctly. I did some research and spoke with friends and all roads pointed to LCD as the place that knows these trucks best. First order of business was having them install a FASS lift pump, which they did a really good job on. They mounted it well above the bottom of the frame rail so it will be protected in-off road situations. They also managed to source a really nice Fleece sending unit to work with the FASS, and at a great price. Next, the steering was extremely sloppy and they recommended we replace the track bar and several other connections in the steering linkage with Moog components, since they have a lifetime warranty and are greasable. I really like that they didn't try to upsell me on some of the fancier front end components available for these 2nd gens - you can go overboard pretty quickly and the overbuilt parts can put too much stress on the surrounding parts and things will break. The truck has very little play now and I couldn't be happier with how it steers and handles. After that they tackled a gear-hunting issue I was seeing from 3rd / 4th on the auto transmission. They found oil-saturated electrical components on the transmission during the service and were 100% confident it was causing the issue. Sure enough, after replacing those parts the shifting issue is completely resolved. After that, they fixed a small diesel leak near the injection pump and changed fluids in the diffs and transfer case. Now the truck runs like new and is ready for anything. Even though LCD is nowhere near where I live, I will not hesitate to take my truck back there for whatever it needs in the future. Many shops in the Bay Area claim they know how to service a cummins (or any other diesel), but after making several calls and speaking with many mechanics, I didn't get the feeling that everyone is as familiar with these trucks as they claim to be. But after 1 minute on the phone with Ross at I knew it was the right place. Thanks guys! read more

I'm really happy Ross and the new team have made Left Coast Deisel a huge success. It's clear these guys have a lot of pride in their business, shop, reputation and quality of work. It was the typical experience you would expect from a performance shop. You can't get anyone to answer the phone, only voicemail. You may or may not get a call back, if you do it's hours later. They tell you to drop your truck off then it sits there for days, a week or more with nothing being done to it. They tell you to pick up your truck, it's done only to show up to find out there are still several things that need to be completed and just bring it back next week. When you rely on your truck all day every day for work, this type of poor service doesn't work. My first experience with the new and improved crew was great. I called, Ross answered the phone, I told him what was going on with my truck. He asked me when it would be convenient to drop it off, we can look at it as soon as first thing tomorrow morning. I showed up at 7:15 as discussed. Ross was opening up the shop. He checked me in real quick and I was off. Ross called me at 11am letting me know what needed to be done, the parts he suggested, warrantee info (lifetime) and a cost. He told me I could pick up the truck the next morning. This job was a complete front end rebuild, pretty impressive. Bottom line is we are fortunate to have access to quality performance work, service and repairs. These guys appreciate their customers and it shows. Prices are very fair and service is second to none. I would confidently recommend Left Coast Deisel to my family, friends and acquaintances. No matter how good you are, you'll never be able to please everyone. The snowflakes (pretty obvious) leaving whinny reviews about cost and a Trump bracelet are always going to be on Yelp crying about their feelings being hurt over nothing. I bought a used truck about a year ago and I knew it had issues but have just been trying to chase them out on my own. First time I went to left coast was for a sensor issue that resolved quickly.
