I was passing through for work and I didn't want fast food so I stopped into enoki sushi. The first thing I noticed was yelp google and DoorDash had very different reviews of this place.. unfortunately I would just skip it.. sometimes you find a nice hole in the wall sushi place but this isn't it. The restaurant was dark and dingy , the customer service was not outwardly bad but there was only one other group in the restaurant and I only spoke to my server twice which again isn't necessary bad but didn't feel the best either . When I ordered the sushi the avocado had brown spots and everything tasted fishier than it should, and the soy sauce was insanely salty. They didn't have the bottle it came from on the table so I wasn't even able to look at the type or pick another low sodium choice. Tips for eating at Enoki: Ask for a teriyaki-type dipping sauce for the sushi. Otherwise, you'll get a very salty, almost not edible soy sauce. Not a good pairing! The sushi roll is very difficult to eat with chopsticks only because the size is bigger than "normal." Ask for a fork on "to go" orders. The "side salad" consists of iceberg lettuce only. But, the dressing is delicious. The atmosphere, to me, is perfect! Tip to the staff: Try to treat your customers as though they are welcomed. There was zero hospitality. read more

Great sushi choices here in Stephenville. Lunch menu rocks with two rolls for $10.95 or three for $14.95 (M-Sat 11am-3pm). We usually come for dinner as we tend to eat several sushi rolls along with sampling other items on their extensive menu. They also have really good hibachi items - I love the steak! They have some weird hours, but we're happy Enoki is here as we enjoyed sushi often in Austin. read more

Sitting here after enjoying my Philadelphia roll at Enoki sushi in Stephenville. I was surprised to find such a delicious sushi restaurant in all places! This is such a gem in a sea of chain restaurants! My friends and I took a chance coming here and we would definitely take that change again and again. The people were super welcoming and friendly and we felt right at home. I also decided to get a glass of their Fuji apple sake which was so refreshing and delicious! My friends got a couple of rolls and some fried rice and it was amazing! Everything was super fresh and just delightful. Our waitress was so nice and took the time to break everything down for us and make it easy! We all appreciated it. Our food came out pretty quickly and we were able to sit and chit chat afterwards. Stopped in for the first time today. Ordered #6 and #7 specialty rolls. Both tasted good but they both fell apart. I think it was a combination of not using enough rice to bind the roll together as well as the rolls being sliced incorrectly. I was so excited for the next entree: 2 orders of stir fried udon noodles with shrimp. This was a major disaster. This dish was drowning in sauce. It was an unappealing mound of salty brown sauce and overcooked noodles served in chipped bowls. It was inedible. I ate the 6 shrimp and that was it. This was one of my friend's favorite places in Stephenville, so I came very excited. The restaurant has a lowkey, intimate aesthetic inside. The salad had some water at the bottom of the bowl and the soup was a bit on the saltier side. As for the main entree, the sashimi pieces were wonderful; huge slices that hit just the right spot. And the shrimp tempura was amazingly crisp. As for the dumplings, they were a bit soggy on the bottom and the lo mein was too oily for my liking--almost every noodle was drenched in oil. Overall, the food is okay and decent but there are a couple of things that could be improved. For the price I paid, I expected better quality. I recommend this place if you're craving sushi, but if you're looking for high quality, you won't find it here. read more

I got a California roll now who can really screw that up first of all it was warm it's supposed to be cold I looked at the fish in the cabinet the tuna did not look fresh at all the waiter tells me they get a shipment once a week of frozen fish which means the fish sits in this refrigerator for seven days being from the West Coast and knowing what fresh sushi should taste like. This place just opened in Stephenville 3 days ago so we decided to give it a try! Despite being busy and very crowded, the service was quick & great! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Always quick with refills and to be sure we had everything we needed. The food was awesome! I can't eat sushi or have seafood, so unfortunately I can't review that and I'm sure that's what most people are looking for. However, I had the Beef Negimaki and Hibachi Steak. The Hibachi comes with soup, salad, various vegetables and white rice that can be upgraded to fried for $1. (which is what I did) Both the appetizer and my meal were so flavorful and I would go back for it every day. I think it was definitely worth the money for my portion of the meal! It was a lot of food and I was so full by the time I left! I would definitely recommend this place even if you can't eat sushi! read more

This place is absolutely delicious. We went in on the Sunday after they opened and for day three they are already so busy. The food is amazing, it's not what you would expect to find in Stephenville. Monday through Saturday they have lunch hours and dinner hours. On Sundays, they're open all day but there are no lunch prices. I got the dinner bento box with steak teriyaki and the other person got the chicken hibachi along with a side order of edamame. Both meals came with a salad and your choice of onion or miso soup. The bento box was perfect. It came with 2 shrimp tempura, 2 gyoza dumplings, fried rice, 6 pieces of their California roll, and the steak. The steak was cooked to order, a perfect medium rare covered in teriyaki sauce with sautéed onions. Not a lot of meat, which we were told about before, but the rest of the box makes up for it, it was all delicious and I am definitely full. The chicken hibachi came with a lot of chicken cooked in teriyaki, steamed rice, and vegetables. For dessert we got the green tea mochi ice cream. We've never had mochi ice cream so we can't compare it to anything but it was really good. This place was really surprising good for me the first visit. A little less so the next, and then less than that the next, leading to tonight when I walked out after 7 minutes of watching 3 wait staff and a bar tender clean the bar area versus take my drink order. They didn't even notice me walk out. Last time I was in I sat at the bar hoping to get more attention, and they still dragged out the service. The wait staff seems more interested in chatting it up than providing a good service. Pretty immature waitstaff over all seeming to lack leadership. What I like about it: Pretty good food. Would rather they cut back on the seaweed in the soup. Spicy mayo is awesome, and they are generous with it. Sometimes the spicy roll combo is a little too fishy, but usually good. Wait staff had good knowledge of menu and what was good. Tolerate: Seaweed in soup. Over powering. What will make me not go back: Service dragging out and having little to no urgency. When I walked in, it was an hour and 15 min prior to close. How could cleaning up for the eve take precedent over a customer? Staff isn't doing business any favors. The waitress was extremely rude and the food was not good either. I got the hibachi shrimp that had a bad sauce with it and the shrimp tasted bad.
