Great menu wonderful service. Nice atmosphere. Everything was great. Unfortunately DO NOT order a regular drink. They will charge you for the alcohol the mix and anything in it as separate items. My vodka tonic with splash of grapefruit cost $18!!!!! There are much fancier drinks on their menu for about $12. I would recommend this place as a great place for those appreciate expertly prepared food. But if you enjoy a cocktail before dinner, go somewhere else beforehand. read more

The first time we went, we LOVED everything about it. We sat on the back patio which was truly amazing, had fabulous drinks and service and couldn't wait to go back. Our second visit wasn't quite as good - the food just wasn't as delicious as the first time. And the menu hadn't changed at all despite it being 2 months later. We will definitely go again - the service was great both times and the food is really, really good - we just had such a "perfect" experience the first time that we were slightly disappointed on our second visit. But, definitely recommend trying them. And the place is totally adorable, parking across the street is super easy too! read more

It's such a treat to have this amazing restaurant in Livermore! I just had my 3rd meal there and it topped the last 2 and they were both so good. I had the curry tonight and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten! Don't listen to anyone who says it's too expensive. You could pay the same at quite a few restaurants downtown and not get near the quality you'd get at Range Life. It's worth every penny. read more

This is such a wonderful restaurant! Excellent service, delicious well crafted cocktails and great food, with one exception. I ordered the roast chicken with a spinach panzanella salad, which created expectations of the classic dish from the Zuni Cafe. Unfortunately, it was only a single breast, cut in half, that was also incredibly dry. I look forward to going back, but will skip the chicken. read more

I love how they stay with the Range theme with their cocktail "Range Water" which tastes lightly sweet like a cactus fruit and a cocktail nod to the old Charlotte's Web. First time at Range Life was on Valentine's day with my wife and 18 month old son. The dining experience was incredible and the food and drinks were awesome. You can tell the entire staff is very experienced (compared to other places in town), as they will do small pro things like inspect glass before pouring drinks to ensure there are no spots, etc. Drinks are high quality liquid magic and very tasty. We have been here as a family at least once a month since our first visit (the staff treats my son like a celebrity every time), and are always looking forward to the next time we can enjoy the Range Life fare. I strongly recommend the Monday only fried chicken + beer + ungodly delectable dessert special, but would go any other time. I used to take people out to various spots in the city for special dinners, but now Range Life Livermore is on top of the list. read more

Went here for brunch the Saturday after Black Friday, it wasn't too busy this morning and its the first time we ever had breakfast here. We split the breakfast sausage plate and the eggs and butternut squash plate. They were both very scrumptious and a delight to eat. This will be one of our new go to brunch spots in the Tri-Valley area. Wayne, Sarah, Lauran and Bill (The owners) are great. And Wayne recognized us from dinner date nights here. Love the joint Second time here. Excellent. One piece of advice for the staff. Don't be lazy and ask the customer if you need change when they pay in cash. Always plan to bring the change back to the customer - period. Put such a bad taste in my mouth. I put $300 cash on the table for a $210 bill. Just run the play. Let the customer make the call and do t put the customer in the position to say yes or no. read more

I ordered Covid take out dinner from this quaint little restaurant yesterday and had such a wonderful meal and experience, that I ordered again the following day. I had several appetizers and a main, and a Cesar, along with a couple of cocktails and it couldn't have been better. I plated it beautifully at home and offered my best service, so 5 stars given there. The most lovely wait person/hostess, delivered to my car outside. When's I Livermore, this is my jam. read more

Happen to be in Livermore for the day and stopped in this place nice decor etc. Prices were exorbitant high for the quality and portion served. I've esteem dined at French Laundry and those prices were justified because they provide a genuine farm to table experience. Whereas Range Life only attempts for such dining experience in a complete failed manner. This place is 90% show 10% substance. I would recommend passing on this one if your truly looking into a high quality restaurant experience otherwise your wasting your money and time. My only complaint is no parking, though there is a parking lot across the street (however it's a big, busy street that can get a little chaotic). Wow, been traveling to Livermore to visit in laws for the last eight years and my wife and I had an incredible dining experience at Range Life yesterday evening. We enjoyed the olive plate, pole bean salad, pork chop appetizer and the curry entree. All amazing with memorable and complementary flavors. Also ordered the ham and cheese starter which when compared to the other dishes was pedestrian. Our only regret was not staying for coffee and dessert. Don't overthink this one, please support this farm to table concept with friendly and knowledgeable staff. read more

Craft cocktails - yes, but uninspired, overpriced, and certainly over iced. Salty food and chewy steak tartare. We were made to feel as if our tastes were sub-par and pedestrian. I love this place. We have needed a restaurant like this in downtown Livermore for a long time. I loved the Rockfish entree and can't wait to back and order it again. Only complaint - small Chardonnay wine pours - seemed like 3-4 oz max; one was so small we had to ask for it to be topped up. Not what you'd expect for $14; hope they resolve. This restaurant is nothing short of amazing! Their cocktail menu is unique and well-crafted. The pineapple white negroni was perfectly smooth and refreshing. It was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. We ordered several plates and enjoyed them all. The crispy lamb belly was flavorful and delicious. We also ordered the artichoke curry and sirloin. Range Life does not disappoint! In fact, they exceeded all expectations. From the food, to the cocktails and wine selection, to the decor, and the service. Everyone I encountered was very professional and knowledgeable, but they also made you feel welcome and comfortable. We will be going back again and again and again. We had the lamb burger and sunny side egg. Both incredible. The focaccia bread and the green Chile sauce were my favorite part. We also tried the zucchini bread, coffee cake and the doughnut. THE DOUGHNUT!!!!! I don't even like doughnuts. It was beyond delicious! All of the baked goods are amazing! We can't wait to go back to try more! This is such a great brunch option for Livermore. Oh! Pretty meh. Food was OK, but the prices were crazy. The pork schnitzel was too salty. The scallops were pretty good. The beef was definitely the best. Had the steak tartare which was served on toasted-black bread that took a lot of the taste out of it. The brussel sprouts were really quite good. The oysters came drowned in mignonette instead of on the side. The in-house hot sauce was very good. The sorbet came with 1 date cut in half. At least update the description on that one. Overall it's just expensive with hit or miss food. read more

6/1/18-Loving this place n so glad we finally have a great place locally. Great they take walk ins at the bar since reservations are pretty booked up. Took a Gf n we had drinks shared 2 appetizers n a main. Absolutely delicious. You have to order bread separately with the burrata which sucks but it was all delicious. The lamb belly was incredible-Delicious meat paired with some kind sauce w Greek yogurt n crunchy radishes on top. Lastly we shared the pork Milanese-crispy exterior n juicy tender meat with a squeeze on lime n their house made spicy sauce served w a picked fennel n onion slaw. Yum. 5/3/18-Great new restaurant in LIvermore. Food was excellent. We split the duck liver toast with berries n mustard seeds. Beautiful presentation n nice flavor combination. Hubby had the rockfish w fresh peas n I had the steak dinner. Well seasoned n delicious. Ended the great meal with the strawberries rhubarb cobbler w pistachio ice cream. Wonderful. Highly recommend. The food was great (not the pickled egg). The seating left a lot to be desired. Tables are so tightly set up together that you can hear all conversation going on both sides of your table, while there's so much empty space all around.
