We had a very frustrating experience with Elite Group Home Inspectors…read more Their report flagged multiple major issues in our home -- including structural concerns and pest damage -- in an extremely alarming tone, which caused our buyer to cancel escrow. We brought in licensed professionals (structural engineer, pest company, Gas and HVAC technicians) to verify the findings. Those professionals determined that several of the concerns were either unsupported or significantly overstated. The structural items were within normal construction tolerances, and the pest-related repairs ended up being minor and far less costly than suggested. We attempted to contact the company multiple times to discuss these discrepancies, including providing documentation from licensed professionals, but were unable to reach a meaningful resolution. We later learned that other customers have raised similar concerns. Unfortunately, the damage was already done. The report created lasting doubt about the home and directly contributed to our escrow falling through, costing us significant time and money. Inspections are supposed to inform -- not alarm buyers with conclusions that aren't backed by specialist evaluation. Based on our experience, we would not recommend using this company.
