He relentlessly tried to snake it out for about 2 hours but it wasn't really doing the trick. He said I needed to have my septic company install a clean out and have him come back to jet the line, which I did. When he returned, he went in with a camera and explained there were a few dips in the pipe where waste water and sludge collected and froze during this past winter creating the blockage. In addition the pipe is not buried deep enough to keep it from freezing, yet if any deeper, waste wouldn't flow to the tank (it's a very old system). Considering the time spent, I feel they were fair with their pricing. No upselling. I also appreciate the time he took on the first visit and the 2nd to investigate and explain the issue.
