What had happened was that I had bought a new laptop from LG (~9 months ago) and its' performance was just so weirdly slow from the time I brought it home. In particular, the proxy setting just would not turn off no matter how many times I disabled it. Plus, the PC performance was horrifically slow. Not a good sign and I did a lot of malware scans with no luck on finding any issue. Finally, I got fed up and, after a bit of research, I found Allstate. The guy at the repair shop was super nice and attentive to my observations. The end result was excellent - all the issues were fixed (proxy and computer speed) and my PC is as it should be - fast and efficient and it has been 3 months of excellent performance. Repair price was okay too. Total recommend.

I looked up local PC Repair spots and Allstates Computers had a very high rating and more importantly was actually open on the weekend unlike most of the other independent PC repair places I saw online. I came in without an appointment and John got right to work on helping me diagnose my problem. He tried a few tools to get a sense of what the problem could be, talked me through the various levels of repair that we could go down, and sent me home with an initial fix that hopefully solves it without me having to buy a whole new rig. All around great service and appreciate him taking the extra time to get me an answer then and there vs just having me drop it off and then having to wait for a response. If I do end up needing to upgrade to a new system, John said he also does custom PC assembly so know where I'll be going when the time comes.

Brad was great and got under the house to deal with the cable run and we worked as a team for the rest. I drilled the holes to pass cable thru and we spotted each other on the ladder and such. It was like having a super qualified IT buddy come over and lend a hand. Took right around two hours. I know it was a little outside of his usual projects that are more computer oriented but this was a superior option for me versus the quotes I got from companies more focused on cabling and networking. Even though my project was not at all a good fit, he went room to room with me making suggestions for my wifi network and offering his best guidance as to how I could get everything up to speed once the wiring is in place (across the attic, through a few walls, etc). Brad knows how stuff works and is an awesome resource. I'll happily hire him when I need pure IT or security system help.

I met her there Tuesday afternoon for her dropping off her devices and hopefully, they could be fixed. Ubiquiti had a solid reputation for quality and reliability, so I went about finding someone who handled their products. Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He also was great at explaining how to operate my new system. But most of all, weeks after the install, I am sooo happy with it! Really great setup with excellent user interface and excellent camera resolution.
