I used to love this place. Unfortunately, things have gone downhill a bit. Although Henry is very grateful for you waiting, the last three times I've been here, I've had to wait for more than 10-20 minutes simply because they were hopping from person to person. Today, I was extremely annoyed when my purse and phone were moved from my seat as I was washing my hands so that a walk-in could be accommodated. Also annoying: the rushed and messy nail job I received, the way that my pedicurista threw and slapped my feet around, the way I was forced to roll and unroll my own pant legs (not terrible but not typical), remove the toe separators myself, carry my own shoes, and sit in seats folks had literally just hopped out of. The only good thing about this place was it's so empty I got an appt right away. The place is dirty & rundown. I should have turned around and left when I had to walk over an entire front walk of bird shit. Nothing is sterilized or clean. I doubt the old autoclave even works. They have some mat on the bottom of the foot sink that I doubt is sanitary as it soaks up all germs in water from any use. The man who may be the owner did my mani-pedi in less than 25 minutes. HIS NAILS WERE FILTHY. I should have walked out as soon as I sat at the foot sink. Where is the Raritan Board of Health? Would never recommend this place. read more

I've been coming here once a month for mani/pedi and I must say that I love this salon and will not go elsewhere. Henry the owner is so nice and polite and the lady I usually get does a wonderful job. Even if I forget to call ahead, it's never a long wait and they treat you as a priority. I used to really love this place until last week. The technician that I always went to was no longer there so my daughters and I used the lady technicians who were available. I paid $80 for all of us and not one of us walked out happy. My daughter who got a mani/pedi said that the callous remover was used once up and once down on each foot. The woman nipped her finger and made it bleed. She didn't seem to care very much and couldn't wait to get my daughter out of her chair. My manicure was sub par and the broken nail I had which she put a drop of glue on didn't hold for more than a day. The French manicure was truly awful because she painted half the nail white. I came here today because I needed a new nail place and I've found it. I got a pedicure and although the woman didn't speak English very well, she did a fantastic job. She was very nice and didn't feel rushed or pressured into other servives. The employees are professional and don't yell at each other like my old salon. Will definitely be back. Only one person in the whole salon spoke English and it was so difficult to describe what I wanted. I finally got a gel manicure and it didn't even last 2 days. This is the worst salon! The make up the prices as you are checking out. Their price list states $25 for a gel fill manicure but they charged an extra $10 for gel polish. I called them out on it and they were trying to come up with an explanation. They do not do a good job with the manicures either, they don't give you a hand massage at the end as all other salons do and no hand cream? The manicurist just told me to go wash my hands when he was done. The salon is dirty and for pedicures they do have the plastic wrap to cover where you feet soak. In fact, when the person next to me was done, they did not clean the basin where you soak your feet with anything but water????? Not sure that passes health codes? read more

Honestly the worst experience i've ever had. My friend and I got our eyebrows done and they were terrible! Mine was not so bad but they were awfully thin and all i wanted was a clean up! I had nice thick eyebrows and now I have to fill them in when I didn't have to! I have thin eyebrows that will take months to grow back to normal! My friend has the worst eyebrow experience her eyebrows did no even match! My nail tech was rushing to get my nails done and they turned out horrible! When I first called for my appointment they said it cost $30 for my full set and it ended up totaling more than $50! I'm not a weekly or even bi-weekly mani/pedi girl but when I do get my nails done, this is my spot! I only let Andy do my nails. He's very detail oriented, speaks English fluently and has a high standard of customer service. He seems to have an aversion to feet though cause I rarely see him do pedicures. Whenever I request him, he still has one of the women do my pedicure - which is not a big deal. They're usually good. Many of the manucurists however don't speak English. You're expected to communicate with them using one of their English speaking coworkers as a translator. I prefer to be able to communicate directly with the person servicing me. The most annoying thing is that they rush you to pick a color the moment you walk through the door, especially if you have an appointment. I've even tried coming in a bit early so I have time to pick a color but they still rush you to get in a pedicure seat & pick a color. I like to take my time. Also, they don't accept cards for tips which is a big inconvenience for me because I don't tend to carry cash. I often forget to bring cash with me and then have to make a trip to get some cash and return with it. Andy's quality of work is totally worth it though! read more

This is the best nail place around this area. I literally pay half the price I would pay if I went to Flemington nails and my nails actually last 2-3 weeks. The owner is such a nice guy he will make sure your satisfied with your nails before you leave. I treat my mom every month , she's disabled and they just treat her like gold there she looks forward to her monthly visit. I've honestly only had one time where I had one nail crack but I am very hard on my nails, if I use any other salon I usually break at least one nail a week. read more

This is the WORST and I repeat: THE WORST nail salon I have EVER been to. Me giving it 1 star is generous. Went there for a gel manicure and left looking like I needed another one asap. The woman who did them was wearing glasses but I'm almost positive that she still couldn't see. Not to mention, the TV in the salon must have really been appealing to her because she kept looking at it as she was filing my nails. What a coincidence~ they came out crooked! She failed to remove all of my gel polish from my previous nail job and she actually started to paint over it. I was appalled. She painted my nails very sloppy on top of that and I felt worse as I was leaving than I did when I arrived there in dire need of a fresh gel manicure. As I was leaving, she handed me one of those rewards cards that you get checked off each time you come in and after 10 manicures, you get a free pedicure. The woman that did my nails did a decent job, but her attitude was horrendous - so much so that I actually didn't want to tip her. When she finished my nails she applied oil to my cuticles and told me to wash my hands. Thank you to Andy, Kim, and Henry. I have been going to Raritan Nails for almost 2 years now. I am very pleased with my excellent manicure and pedicures each time I go to their establishment. The price fits my budget with quality, professional care. The reason I am writing this review is because of the negative attitude I noticed by 3 clients today. I had a 12:00 appointment. I arrived at 11:50 and Andy was available to start my manicure early. At 12:10, 12:15 and 12:20, 3 women came in without an appointment and said, "I need a gel manicure or pedicure". It was obviously busy. All stations were occupied. These 3 women clicked their teeth, paced back and forth, and gave disgusted looks. It took all of my self control not to say something. Here is a suggestion: One- make an appointment if you plan to come at lunch time. Two- Raritan Nails is providing a service to you. Maybe say, I see that it is busy. Would it be better for me to come back in 30 or 60 minutes? Treat these professionals with a little more respect. Three- Remember what Mom always said, "Treat others the way you want to be treated". Honestly this place is great. I have never had a bad gel manicure and they last weeks on end. I usually have to only get it redone because my nails have grown out. Staff is quiet, but friendly and you can't beat the price. And they're pretty quick to get you in and out, which I appreciate. read more

They don't do any nail shapes but square and they don't know what gems or rhinestones are... when I described what I wanted she kept saying what? Been going here since they opened. Always comes out perfect. I get acrylic and they last me about 3 weeks. Always able to get in as soon as I need to. Prices are always fair and the staff is always very accommodating. I wouldn't go anywhere else. My nails never break or snag on anything even if they grow out.
