I was told by Amy (shift leader) that I had to make a purchase in order to get sauce, and that whatever I purchased had to come with sauce and I could only get two extra. Disappointed in today's service. I always get the same item, Chicken Teri Plate, no rice and extra chicken. I also ask that they do not add sauce or salad dressing. Before I left today I opened the container and was disappointed to see that the "double chicken" was chopped up into so many small pieces making it look as though it was the normal amount of chicken that comes with the plate. I asked the manager to look at the container and confirm that it was in fact a " double chicken" sized order and he said that it was. I got home and was ready to share with my wife and she immediately noticed it was not how we usually receive our order and that the chicken pieces were very finely chopped and not the large chicken pieces that we are used to getting. I am disappointed in what happened especially after speaking with the manager. So I am obsessed with teriyaki and you must know that I loved the Long Beach location. When they closed it down, I was sad and distraught on where to go now. When I found out they were opening up a new location not to far from me, I was filled with pure joy. We were in the area contemplating what to eat. First thing that came ot my mind was, of course, teriyaki. So we decided to make a stop. Like at any other location, the food was delicious. I ordered the chicken bowl with fries. Their fries are one of my faves because they season them with perfection. The new location was very clean and like always, the staff was amazing. We ordered a tray of beef, a tray of chicken and a tray of salad for a party. No one was eating the beef. The feedback I got was that the beef was very dry and hard. I have ordered many times before at the Long Beach location (now closed) and never had a problem. This is my first time ordering at this Carson location. I called and talked to the manager Stephanie. I love this place. I go here at least once a week. Everything I've tried so far has been on point. I love the smoky taste of their teriyaki chicken and beef. Their turkey burger is pretty good. I absolutely love the Asian chicken salad. I just ordered the avocado and cheese sandwich and it was pretty good too. The taste is so good plus I feel it's a decently healthy choice so you don't feel guilty eating here. Absolutely LOVE their Asian salad dressing. I ordered the teriyaka chicken w broccoli plate. The teriyaki sauce was so skimpy that my entree was very dry. Very disappointed. You'd think a place with Teriyaki in their name would at least give you enough sauce to eat their dry rice and meat with. The broccoli was a huge disappointment. They gave me long, tough stems with small flowers. I only ordered this dish because I saw one coming out of the kitchen and it had abundant, nice, steamed brocolli flowerets, but what I got was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Broccoli and the long stems were so tough, I couldn't get it chewed enough to swallow. Had to spit it out all the pure fiber. It was not edible. Another time I ordered the Chinese Chic Salad. The chicken was so tough and dry I chewed and chewed it until my jaw hurt from chewing, and it still wasn't broken down enough to swallow, so I spit out the unchewable chicken. Food money down the drain. BTW, I waited for 20 minutes to get my one takeout order for ONE person. I live 5 minutes away but when I opened up my food at home, it was stone cold, not just a little cold. If you order take-out, beware and check out your food BEFORE you leave. I think they count on you not seeing your food until you're home and you're so hungry you don't want to take it back. There's nowhere to tell them about your experience on their website. No surveys, no comment option, only a phone number. Who wants to call the restaurant where they're busy running the place? No one to take your complaint. Just BEWARE. I'm not ever going back. The food is inconsistent and you never know what you'll get, and I can't sit for an hour chewing on a piece of chicken so I can swallow it. Wish I'd taken pics!! I used to love this place. read more

Very sorry to do this but this is my first time reviewing the newly opened Rascal's in Carson and let me just say that this might be the first time I was pretty "ehhhhhhh, maybe should have gotten something else on the menu" type of ordeal. I have never eaten here before, and this was my first time. I had a coupon for a BOGO deal and used it to get the deluxe chicken and deluxe beef. Saving the beef for later but went in on the chicken and the first thing I noticed coming from the bag was something smelled burnt. Opened up the chicken and honestly it looked a little scuff. Good portion of chicken but someone of it was too black and crispy to be deemed edible. The rice was a hearty portion and the Chinese chicken salad was the saving grace of the meal. Good amount of chicken, greens, and crispy bits for the salad with a solid dressing. There was an orange slice and I'm sure it's used to cleanse a palette or just for health reasons, but I feel like they can do away with it. Another thing is the sauce, it's both overwhelming and underwhelming. The sauce, they put a lot, I'm sure to hide the burnt smell but that didn't work. I expected a sweetness bomb cuz it's teriyaki but suprisingly, it was just some sauce. Not too salty, sweet, savory. I don't know how to feel about it. Overall, chicken deluxe not the greatest, am I glad it was the one that got 50% off cuz of the coupon, yes. Was it worth? Yes, cuz now it's worth like 6 bucks and we'll do anything for those prices. I was not impressed with the food, but then again, I have another meal for tomorrow. Don't know how that will go but I will just take into account that it is cold and will be reheated. The biggest upside was the customer service for being patient and explaining what's good here but service can only take you so far. This was my first time picking up food from the Carson location of Rascals, but I've been eating their food since the 1990s. The value is unbeatable and the Chinese chicken salad, chicken curry and teriyaki chicken are my favorites. I once had the avocado teriburger and it was dynamite! Another item I recommend is the family pack which gives you the salad, rice, and meat; enough for 4 hungry people. Give the Carson Rascals a try, or any of the locations, and I think you will be pleased. read more

I am no stranger to Rascals as I've frequented the LB and Gardena locations so I was excited that a location much closer has made its way to me. I ordered food for pick up and my Chinese Chicken Salad was delicious as always however, my fries were not crispy at all. I didn't wait too long to pick up my order so I was a bit disappointed that they weren't crispy and hot. I ended up popping them into my air fryer. However, overall, a good experience.
