This place was pretty good- I love their traditional recipes and also twists on fruity desserts. We had the mangonada which was different than the ones I'm used to. They had a lot of chamoy on it. While I'm a bigger fan of the mangoes and sorbet, this made it more salty and tangy. We also had the strawberry raspados. It was mostly shaved ice with strawberry purée, condensed milk, and strawberries on top. I'm not too familiar with what traditional raspados are and if most of it should be shaved ice or actual blended fruit with ice like a smoothie, but it was too much shaved ice in my opinion. I slurped up all the strawberry purée and was just left with ice and condensed milk in the end. Regardless, everything here was really fresh which is why I liked it. All the fruit was fresh. The staff was really nice and let you try samples of different things too. I would probably come back to try different stuff on the menu. read more

Due to Covid-19, Solaris does not offer delivery, but you can order online and pick it up. Tried calling them but nobody would answer. However, the response through Messenger is rapid. They get so inundated by orders being called in. Online ordering is the way to go. There's raspados and there's Raspados. Having lived in the Southwest, specifically in Arizona and the border town of Yuma, word of mouth you would find out who's making the really good raspados in town. And there are plenty to choose from. Having said that, Raspados Solaris intrigues me by their unexpected take on the popular drinks. We ordered the Rose Solaris (has chocolate-covered strawberries, rose currant, pitaya, tres leches!), the Solaris (tres leches and all kinds of berries), a milkshake cheesecake-flavored, a virgin Mojito-styled beverage with fresh-cut pineapple, or you can choose something else; and of course, a favorite of antojito of mine--elote with hot Cheetos and the works. We were looking for a cool treat on a very hot night. Some Yelp searching later we ended up here. The moment we stepped in we were greeted by the owner who is extremely friendly and helpful. He had us try some cool flavors which I'll definitely order next time. I had a mango strawberry and hubby had a strawberry with ice cream. Both were so fresh and delicious. I'm disappointed by this place. I've wanted to come here for a while now and was so excited to drive 25 minutes to grab some raspados. After 25 minutes, my husband came and told me they told him that they didnt have mangos. I mean, on a Saturday night it is a huge bummer. In addition, I wanted a corn salad and got it in a cup looking like soup. Whenever I've had street corn, it never looked like that. It tasted pretty good but that's about it. First and last time. Update: the owner reached out to me and explained the situation with the mangos. Diablisol is sooo good. This place just opened up three months ago, is super clean, super fresh, and I'm pretty sure it's family owned (can anyone confirm?). I wish I came here sooner because I LOVE raspados! The, who I assume, is the husband, immediately greeted me and started offering me samples of everything. I'm very, very familiar with raspados, but I don't think he knew that and wanted to make sure I understood the menu items. I thought it was very thoughtful and sweet. Also, ALL samples were great! The coconut is so good omg, but I wanted something spicy and sour. I got the diablisol, which is amazing!!! I thought there'd be more mango but it's OK, I'm totally fine with pineapple! And it's not that spicy, FYI. Another sweet gesture: the wife (I think) made my drink base and let me sample it before she filled it with the fruits. So I'm guessing you can kind of customize your spice or sourness level! Anyway, definitely recommend checking this place out. I wanted to try a bet Raspado place around the area. This is maybe 10 minutes away from where I live. I saw that it had great reviews on here so me and the family went there last nights. The owners greeted us, very friendly people. I had gotten a raspado de coco, strawberry ice cream cone, and horchata. Horchata was very very delicious. It didn't taste like the powder ones most places have! My toddler loved his ice cream cone! For the raspado de coco is a bit mix feeling. It was really good but it was too sweet for me. Also wish it had coconut flakes on it. I will give it a try again maybe try a different Update: I went back on Sunday to try it again. I have to say they really do care how they do the raspados. Short Review: While, it is a damn shame that there isn't dine-in, but given the circumstances of the situation, it is perfectly understandable. If you are looking for something different in desserts, especially if you don't know anything much about the Hispanic/Latino culture, et cetera, like myself, Raspados Solaris offer you an interesting flavorful take on ice cream, drinks, fruits, and crushed ice flavors. The service was also good. They were fast, efficient, and friendly. For more details, read below. Long Review: Raspados Solaris is located North of Phoenix. In the area, there isn't much to it and not much parking spot either. It's a rather narrow place, but I suppose it isn't as bad as Phoenix Downtown. On the outside of the shop, you can see the shop sign in blue written "RASPADOS" in caps and the symbol of the sun in front of the "RASPADOS." Solaris is Latin for "the sun." While, I'm not familiar of Latin, I do like the name of the shop. It has a nice ring to it. For the inside of the shop, it feels a lot like a typical old fashion ice cream shop. On the side of the wide wall, you'll see solaris symbol in the middle surrounded by yellow and baby blue balloons. The style and the furnished inside feels old school, but it was nicely clean and smells good. Everything was organized to an extent. The shop itself was a long hallway narrow path. I actually wondered if they even offer dine-in before the COVID-19 because it feels a bit narrow for chairs and tables. For the menu, there were a nice amount of option to choose. Each one looks special and has it's own creativity. Not going to lie, it was a bit difficult for me to choose as I wanted to try all if I could. In the end, I went with Solaris and Passion Mojito Raspado. It took about 5 - 10 minutes for both to be ready. Solaris: Based on the description, "Tres Leches, Gooseberry/Raspberry/Blackberry Raspado with Tres Leches Ice Cream and Melted Chocolate." Such a complex multi-layer of berries along with the creamy ice cream and the sweet yet mildly bitterness of the chocolate makes such brilliant harmony of fine dessert. Please note that even though they give you a straw along with it, you can't really suck it that well because it's technically, not a drink. It's a mixture of shaved-ice and ice cream with blended fruits and the touch of chocolate (in this case, the cup is glazed with chocolate). Passion Mojito Raspado: Based on the description, "Lime, Mint, Natural Passionfruit Syrup Raspado." Just like the title entails, it's a limey passionfruit freezy drink with a nice hint of mint. If you have tried mojito before, this is exactly what it is, but without alcohol. However, in this case, it has a the touch of passionfruit. In my case, it has mango fruits in it. I believe you can choose the option of which fruit bits you want in it. I recommend getting this if you want something refreshing for a hot summer daylight. Overall, I rate this in quantity, a -A and in quality, an A. For the quantity, it's spot on, but for the given portion vs the price, it can be slightly expensive. Maybe, reduced the price by a $1? This is just from a consumer standpoint, of course. As for quality, I don't think there is anything necessary to change. It is excellent as how it is. Then, again, this is my first time experience eating raspados, so I can't say much. All I know that, it was a satisfying visit and surprising fun and yummy treat. I recommend Raspados Solaris to anybody who can appreciate any types of desserts/sweets, in general. read more

But the employees were helpful in explaining the different treats; unfortunately I don't speak much Spanish so it was a little difficult for me to communicate what I wanted. (I had Googled where to find Dole Whip in Phoenix, and this place came up; they do *not* have it here, just fyi) But I just went with it and got some Thrifty ice cream since they had coconut pineapple. Super nice staff and delicious options. They have spicy options, the more classic raspado flavors and then coffee or chocolate ones that look amazing! They make all their purées for the raspados in-house without colorings, additives or preservatives. My favorite thing to get in Mexico is coco, most places in Arizona don't serve this, so when I saw that they served coco it was a done deal in my book! Their coco took me right back to Mexico! Also tried a strawberry horchata, and boy was it good! The only thing I wish they had was a menu, as they come up with so many exciting concoctions!
