I'll say I liked the carne a little better just because the steak was cook very well. It wasn't chewy or dried out and the flavor was definitely there. Came across this spot when looking for lunch options after a hike in the area and definitely got drawn in by the photos on Yelp! Plus, I've never had Jamaican x Mexican tacos so great chance to try something new! They have outdoor seating on their patio but you could easily take this to the beach and enjoy it for an easy picnic. I ordered two tacos: -- Al Pastor: reeeally flavorful and tender. I was at my nieces wedding on Saturday evening... After the ceremony we all gathered in the garden for drinks and appetizers before dinner. Rasta Taco did a pass around quesadilla to all the guests that were hot with melted yummy cheese that were so delicious.. ( and I don't eat dairy) but these quesadillas were out of this world everybody was talking about them I actually had two, because they were warm and melty and divine... they had the salsa and guacamole to go with it and these little burritos that were so good. They did a Buffet Style for dinner which was really quite elegantly done for a wedding, I wish I had my phone to take photos of how classy they had done this. The food was delicious it was tacos with your choices of chicken , beef , vegetable fish. I decided to have one of each as well as the delicious beans and another dish that I'm not sure what it was but it was delicious... I highly recommend this company for any event that you might have they were all dressed in black and white very courteous everything was just so clean and presented so well for all of us... their servers came and took all the plates off of the tables in such a timely matter. This place was such a great little find. Seriously one of the best tacos. The hot sauce was super hot but so flavorful. I'm only giving it 4 stars because there is no bathroom. They tell you to walk to Whole Foods which understandably is for their customers only and you need a code to access the restroom. A little warning anywhere on their website would be great. The patio area is clean and has a few tables. I would highly recommend getting takeout from here. Update: I don't appreciate the owner of this business negotiating for a higher ranking after I immediately posted my review. I even recommended grabbing takeout. If you serve food and there is no access for your customers to wash their hands, it's an issue. Not that hand sanitizer is the same thing as washing your hands, but that wasn't available either at the time we ate here. Whole Foods was not at all accommodating to Rasta Taco customers, at least not this one without becoming a customer of theirs in order to access their restroom. Amazing taco place in Laguna beach! I love how they have options for flour, corn, or even lettuce! The chips that come with all the tacos are delish and I was in love with the salsa. If you're a taco lover then you absolutely MUST try Rasta Taco. As regular beachgoers my boyfriend and I took a trip to Laguna and were in the mood for some tacos. What initially drew us in was the Pastor taco (with bacon and cheese!!), but I have to say that this was one of the best fish tacos I've ever had. There was an entire filet of white fish in my taco; very flaky, delicate, and just crispy enough on the outside. The PERFECT refreshing taco after a nice day at the beach. When we got to Rasta, it was a very unassuming little shack with a nice patio to eat on, with lots of succulents and murals. It's so easy to miss but has so much to love. There are some tables and a bar table area, so you can pick where you want to sit. You order at the window and are given a number. I got pineapple Fresca work the two taco combo. One single taco is about 5-6 dollars and a combo is 11-13 dollars. You're better off getting a combo to get more bang for your buck. It comes with rice beans and chips. Service was friendly, even tho the orders take a little bit to come out. The closest restroom is at Whole Foods, so I guess that's good to know if you're somebody who wants a restroom / sink on premises. I was super excited to try out this place especially the Jerk Chicken Tacos but honestly it wasn't that amazing. The chicken had a good flavor but it was a little dry and underwhelming. Rasta taco is a cute little neighborhood taco spot in Laguna Beach! Their menu consists of many familiar items: tacos, guacamole and chips, quesadillas.... while also bringing some unique twists with their rasta bowls, and Caribbean flavors. The same goes for their salsa selection - I highly recommend their pineapple salsa which was sweet, fresh, and also slightly reminiscent of curry flavors. For food, I highly recommend their plaintains, their al pastor and chorizo tacos, as well as their nachos!!! Could not get enough of those nachos! Finally made it to Rasta Taco during Covid-19 lockdown. I love Caribbean food, I love the vibe / look of Rasta - suffice to say I was really looking forward to this meal. I recognize Rasta Taco may not be at its finest because of coronavirus. However, I will not be back for the foreseeable future. Our meal was below average. We ordered the rasta bowl, plantains and quesadillas. Rasta bowl - "spiced basmati" rice tasted like plain rice; the seasoned chicken had very little taste and had the texture of 3-4 day old chicken. Plantains - very unusual. They are prepared more like french fries than regular plantain slices; moreover, the taste was so faint I couldn't tell if I was eating plantains or yucca chips. There are different kinds of salsa available near the window and you can fill up your own and bring it to your table.
