Was informed that they now have the fish tacos regularly. Came in to check it out. We started with Mexican beers. Ordered fish tacos and mini quesadillas. Each plate came with chips. The quesadilla plate came with guacamole. I loved that the quesadilla wasn't too cheesy. It was actually the perfect size with the right amount of cheese for our taste. The fish taco wasn't the same deliciousness of before. But I have to say that it was tasty. It's not battered and fried goodness like before. It's not even the same fish. It is now healthier than before. You get plenty of protein in those cubed fish pieces. It had a delicious spicy sauce in the bottom. All you need is lime (which it comes with) to make it perfect! Their salsas are fresh and delicious. If the tapatillo sauce had a little garlic, it would be so much better. Seems like they really paid attention to our concerns and made changes. The menu is smaller but so much better. I'm actually craving those fish tacos as I'm writing my review. If you're in the area, you have to check them out! This place seemed to be good, the lady at the register gave me her suggestions which I went with! First, for a small spot that you walk up to and order I thought their prices were high! The alcoholic drinks taste like box drinks that they throw over ice and seemed to be way over priced. The rice literally taste like nothing! Highly disappointed! I got a bowl with al pastor, the meat is good which is why I gave it one more star but really everything else was super disappointing! We ordered a kids meal, two alcoholic drinks, a bowl, and tacos which was $60! The seating was full and we had to sit at the tiny counter that should be bigger because my Margarita fell over the edge and they didn't offer to replace it. Wouldn't come back! It's a hard pass! This is a bit of a late review as I first went here last summer. A friend and I were looking for something that was vegetarian friendly as a quick lunch before hitting the beach. We stumbled upon Rasta Taco as we were walking around. They had a menu that suited our needs and it smelled delicious! It took us a bit of time to get a table as there is limited outdoor seating, but we were able to eventually snag one. Unfortunately there was a bit of confusion with my friend's order and they said they couldn't find his order after approximately 25 minutes of waiting. They were very accommodating during this mix up though and we eventually were able to get my friend's meal. We had an overall good experience here. read more

This place is super convenient. Easy parking and right in the heart if downtown. My nephew is really picky about his food and doesn't like things touching, I let the cook know and he was super sweet and accommodating. They have a killer refreshing agua de Jamaica that my nephew had, perfect for this summer. I had a margarita with tacos and the meat was tender and had no fat on it which is perfect. They had cilantro and onions as toppings and everything was freshly chopped, reminds me of the food my mom made for me as a kid. After this we walked to the beach and had a perfect evening. Laguna Beach , Ca. I've been coming here for lunch for a while now. Not often because it is pricey for a lunch, if you want total satiation you will be into it for about $15 plus drinks. It is, however, really convenient. If you're visiting the beach it is a short walk for fast food with some decent flavor. If you're working in town it is quick and easy if you don't have the time to dine at the other nearby taco places that are very busy and require a wait. Parking can be a challenge but I usually don't have a problem. Street parking is usually available and there is a lot at the restaurant with a few stalls. I always measure a taco place by what they serve up as an asada taco. Often the meat is finely chopped to disguise the fat and gristle. Sometimes the meat is served Mexican style in large pieces with all the gristle included. If I bite into a beef taco that has ANY fat or gristle, I never return and it's an automatic one star. I don't count hamburger or mystery meat tacos, I don't go there. Rasta Taco has great asada. It is cut into small pieces, but no sign of fat or gristle. It is cooked perfectly and nicely spiced. The meat has good flavor and texture, probably cut from a decent piece of meat. If you need more fire use the habenero sauce provided at the condiment table. There is nothing in this taco except the meat. Good. I wish it were a tad larger, but at least it isn't a so called "Street" taco. Their pork and chicken taco's are pretty good too, but I usually need three of these. With two asada I can manage an $11 lunch. The tortillas are good, they don't fall apart and they are not greasy. Chips are handy for consumption of any meat that falls from the taco. There is no restroom. I have been directed to the Whole Foods store across the street, but the bathroom there always seems to be occupied by someone who has a lot of time to do whatever he is doing in there. read more

Tacos are good. Service is horrible Been here twice now. Two of us were standing at the cashier, not even acknowledged for a good 2-3 minutes. Didn't make eye contact. I understand if it's busy. Caveated review since I live in LA and there's a taco stand 3 minutes walking distance from my apartment. That being said the quality of the tacos at Rasta are pretty on point. There was a line when I came here on the weekend. I was hoping to drop $10 and get a few tacos but their pricing is so high I guess since it's Laguna Beach. Each taco is about $5 for an alright sized taco. Like I caveated, tacos in my area are a bit smaller but run under $2 each. My favorite are the carne asada. Their sauce selection is diverse and employees friendly. In an area where there are a few Mexican places to get good quality food, this one is the most convenient for tacos to eat there or on the go. I probably won't be stopping by here again but it was worth a try. read more

We ordered taco combos with jerk chicken, shrimp alongside the vegetarian and vegan options which all came with two soft tacos with chips, rice and beans. We loved the hot sauce that came with the tacos and the sides were really good. We honestly didn't even finish it, and the portions were good for the prices. I recommend this place for those going to Laguna Beach and want to just sit outside to eat. The actual tacos weren't like spectacular and didn't change my life, but were pleasant enough. I had been dying to try Rasta Tacos for many years and finally made it. I am a sucker for a plate of nachos, and opted for the Al Pastor. Initially, I was hesitant because the Al Pastor contains bacon, of which I am not a huge fan. However, the combination of the tenderness of the pork, the saltiness of the bacon, and the sweetness from the caramelized onions and pineapple cannot be beat. This place is so good that I've been thinking about their tacos for days. It's located by the Main Beach, right in between Zinc Cafe and Whole Foods. I got the Al Pastor and vegetarian taco. You get a choice of having flour/corn tortilla or lettuce wraps. The Al Pastor was absolutely amazing, the cheese and the meat together made it perfect. The vegetarian taco was also great, I love that they have both vegan and vegetarian options. I fell in love with their pineapple curry sauce! When you check in with yelp you have a "free gift" option. I was hoping it was a little sombero like the one on their display beer or chips & salsa. The gift was actually an option of a Rasta Taco uni-sex trucker hat or a wallet. I thought this was pretty generous until I heard a conversation between the register gal who had gotten the hat & another employee who intercepted her on her way back to me. Apparently the owner wanted to only give out the gift after a review is posted. Hmmm, that sounds like you're bribing / buying good reviews. The whole scene turned me off but I was there with friends for a pre-pagent of the masters dinner. Meh. It is what it is. I really wanted the shrimp taco but the 2 taco & drink combo was a better deal. I chose the Caribbean chicken and slaw & the al pastor. I also got the chile "fries" which are beer battered ortega chiles with a crema sauce. The chicken was a tad dry and I wished I had grabbed extra sauce next to the register. The al pastor was amazing; very tasty and fresh! The fries won me over though. Beautifully fried to a light crisp and flavorful with the barest amount of heat...I thought these would be perfect for even the wimpiest of eaters. :) Two of my GFs can't handle heat but the one who took a bite said she liked it. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely stop on by but they really need to change the check-in. We stopped by after finding La Sirena closed on Sunday. It was a super hot day (LB was paaaaacked), and they also had (free and available) parking. These ladies must be pretty quick to tow someone abusing their lot. There's also outdoor seating for a few and umbrellas for shade. I got the Jerk Chicken and Ensenada Baja fish taco. Hubs got the carnitas burrito ad we got the Ortega "Chili" Fries to share. Jerk Chicken was super flavorful and the fish was lightly breaded and fried nicely. The picked onion slaw was a nice accompaniment. Hubs was happy with his burrito, which was 2/3 to half the size of a Chipotle burrito. I'd say that's good sized. The quotes were on "chili" and not on "fries," so i wasn't sure what that was going to be... They're like long, skinny jalapeño poppers. I'm not totally sold on these. Each taco came with two corn tortillas, onion + cilantro, and a side of chips that were beyond crispy! The chicken was great, but I'd have to say that the carnitas was a little on the dry side and lacked taste.
