5 stars- Highly Recommended…read more We used Citra Pest Control to deal with a rat problem in our attic. I had already tried traps and bait myself, but nothing was working, so I gave Citra a call. Abraham came out and was great--very knowledgeable, professional, and easy to work with. We set some additional traps, but more importantly, he figured out the real issue and recommended sealing the vents near our crawlspace to keep the rats from coming back. They were responsive, reasonably priced, and effective. Overall, a really good experience. I'd definitely recommend Citra Pest Control!

The following is a suggestion to Mike. As explained in my request to you, my problem is spider invasion; the situation is especially bad for the 2 bed rooms on the second floor right above the roof facing the street. It's during the service that I learned from Gabriel that your technicians would not spray the outside window frames on the second floor, but they could wipe the inside window frames with paper towel wetted with the spray material; he did that, and informed me to stay away with the house for at least 2 hours after that treatment. Suggestion: It would be great if you can offer to do the spraying of the outside window frames on the second floor, because some of your customers with small children and pets maybe sensitive to the chemical wiping inside the house. Thank you for your consideration of this matter.

I cannot recommend this business highly enough! Tufts of insulation were strewn about the ground and some was hanging outside of a vent that led to an attic. Based off of a recommendation from a previous neighbor and research into local options, I called James. I was Immediately impressed with his in-depth knowledge and his willingness to explain and share his experience. After telling him about my location as well as a brief description of what I found, he was able to accurately describe my fence line, how it led up to a small landing, where the soffits were located, and what he suspected was happening. He came out, assessed the situation, and based off of the evidence he identified the culprit as most likely being a raccoon. He then provided me with options on how we could proceed. At no time was I pressured into picking an option that I was uncomfortable with. He went over the details for each option and clearly explained what was recommended vs what was less pressing and optional. We went with having him monitor the intrusion for 3 days and then replacing all of our old galvanized steel soffits with more coastal friendly poly-vinyl ones. Throughout the entire process, James was incredibly flexible, highly responsive, and deeply attentive to all of our questions/concerns. If you want thorough, professional, and thoughtful service, James is your guy!

Took many photos to show us the rodent problem we had and proposal to eradicate the problem. They covered all entry areas. Cleaned and sanitized crawl space and attic. Sorry, this report is from about a year ago. I meant to post it back then, but I completely forgot…read more We started hearing animals running around in our attic. One day, there was an extremely loud noise coming from the water heater closet. When we checked, we found that the insulation board covering the attic access above the water heater had been broken through. The instruction manual attached to the water heater had been chewed into pieces, with shredded paper scattered all over the floor. It looked pretty alarming, so we immediately called Rodent Control Inc. When they arrived, they told us the damage had been caused by rats. They explained that there are two types of rats--small rats and large rats. After spending quite a bit of time inspecting the attic and taking several photos, they told us there was a large amount of rat droppings and rated the infestation as a 9 out of 10 in severity. They said it needed immediate attention. Their proposed solution was to seal all possible entry points around the crawl space and roof, remove the contaminated insulation, disinfect the attic, and charge us more than $5,700. Replacing the insulation would cost even more. The next day, we contacted another company, Ratting on Rodents, for a second opinion. They told us that the type of damage we described was much more consistent with squirrels than rats. Sure enough, they found a dying squirrel in the corner of the water heater closet and removed it. They then inspected the roof and discovered that the metal chimney cap had fallen off. They explained that the squirrel had most likely entered through the chimney. That same day, they replaced the chimney cap, sealed the opening above the water heater closet, and repaired six damaged crawl space vents around the exterior of the house. They also noted that the droppings in the attic did not appear to be fresh, but set traps in both the attic and the crawl space as a precaution. They returned one to two weeks later to inspect the traps and also provided a one-year warranty, promising to come back if any rodent issues reappeared. The total cost for everything was only $1,150. I have never heard anything since then. The problem is gone! Based on my experience, Rodent Control Inc. seems to excel at sales and customer service, but they were unable to accurately identify the root cause or recommend the appropriate solution. I would strongly encourage homeowners to get a second opinion before committing to an expensive proposal. In our case, another company solved the actual problem for about one-fifth of the cost. Good service is important, but accurate diagnosis and effective solutions are what ultimately matter.

Based on the sound and location, I was convinced there was a rodent trapped somewhere in the vent ducting or microwave housing. Matt helped me uninstall the microwave and take it outside so we could carefully investigate what was going on. Throughout the entire process, Matt was upbeat, collaborative, and delightfully easy to work with. One thing I especially appreciated was Matt's friendly and humorous demeanor during the troubleshooting process. When we opened things up and failed to find any droppings or evidence of a rodent, he mentioned that he was beginning to wonder if something else could explain the scratching noise that I heard, which turned out to be exactly right. After partially disassembling the microwave outside, we discovered that the "rodent" was actually a large Longhorn beetle inside the microwave housing making scratching noises that sounded a lot like a rodent. What could have been a stressful and frustrating experience turned into something unexpectedly funny thanks to Matt's calm demeanor, good humor, and collaborative spirit. I was genuinely grateful for his help and would absolutely work with him again.
