Spaghetti Frutti di Mare

What a hidden gem!! I was meeting a friend of mine for dinner and we were looking for an Italian spot that was between where we were located. Luckily, we found Il Saggio, and decided we'd give it a try. This was such a great decision because it's really a restaurant worth trying if you're craving some delicious Italian food! The ambiance was quite chill - Nice and clean interior, not too loud, and felt cozy. Perfect spot to catch up with a friend. Service was very friendly and our waitress served us with a smile. Our favorite thing about this place was the price for the quality of food and drinks. Honestly, this place was so affordable. $8 margaritas that were delicious?! Under $25 for a heaping size of delicious pasta?! You absolutely cannot go wrong. garlic bread- 5/5. this was literally free but so good I couldn't stop eating it. Anything with garlic is amazing but it also had this lovely spice to it, and it went so well with the balsamic and olive oil at the table. frutti di mare- 5/5. SO much seafood in this dish and it was perfectly cooked. The sauce was so delicious and I would honestly order this dish over and over again. bolognese- 5/5. I only stealed a bite out of my friend's plate, but it was so good. It was definitely hearty and the flavors were great. margaritas- 5/5. For $8 a pop I wasn't expecting much, but they ended up tasting so good. After two margaritas we were definitely a bit tipsy. It's hard to believe two margs here is the cost of 1 marg at any other restaurant, but it's true! Honestly, i don't know why more people don't know about this place. It's such a steal for delicious food that really tastes home cooked. I will definitely be back whether I'm in the area or not - it's worth a drive to me if I am craving some delicious Italian food!

This was my first time trying this restaurant, and I chose it based on the great reviews. It definitely lived up to the hype--both the food and service were wonderful! I ordered the pasta with salmon in vodka sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. The garlic bread was also amazing--fresh, soft in the middle, and so good that I asked for seconds. I also tried the tiramisu, which was moist and had a rich coffee flavor that I really enjoyed. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd definitely come back to try more of their pasta dishes!

2nd time at this spot and showed up just before high traffic so the vibe has been very chill and relaxed so tables are immediately available. Once they take your order they bring you they bring you feasted bred with fresh garlic and butter/olive oil on top. We use the olive oil and vinaigrette to dip and takes the bread over the top! So far we've had the ribeye, frrutti de mare, lasagna, and the spaghetti Florentino and, twice, the crème brûlée. Definitely recommend! Our Italian spot from now on!

We went there right when it opened on a Sunday. There was an ample parking lot. When we got in, we were kindly greeted and seated. I got the Linguine Alle Vongole and my Fronde got the Spaghetti Fruitti di Mare. The dishes were phenomenal! The prices were reasonable! The waiter was extremely kinda and attentive! Got a wonderful feel and vibe from the place! Oh and I don't want to forget the robot they used to deliver the food! That was quite awesome!! I plan to stop by here again!!

Fettuccine alla vodka with salmon

In an unsuspecting building we came at 5 pm on a Thursday and found it surprisingly empty however every dish that we had was amazing, couple of the stars of the show were the Cajun fettuccini, the Cesar salad and the Bruschetta. Very cozy inside the restaurant and has an old school Italian feel , sat in the dining room which was great but the bar area looked nice as cozy as well

Amazing flavors our first time here coming from citadel outlets and search Italian restaurants, hands down everything was delicious. I had the chicken carbonara fire The shrimp risotto also fire to top it off with vodka fettuccine. Sorry for the late picture the presentation was better I just forgot to take pictures I was hungry

Jolin E.

Food overall was gooood. Calamari, supreme Pizza, lasagna, Fettuccine con vodka y Salmon all were delicious and impressive amount of meat and ingredients. The Fettucine Porcini/mushroom with shrimp and scallop can improve a bit. Didn't taste like it. Service was good. Place was clean. The servers were pleasant and very accommodating and friendly.

I was searching for a creamy tasty Risotto and I found after searching for almost 9 years. It was literally the tastiest Risotto I have ever tasted. Chef made Risotto extra creamy as per request. Really recommend this restaurant to all Italian food lovers.Quality of the food is top level. Loved the ambience and cute robot which serves the food plates. Service was good. I will definitely go back and recommend to my friends.

It's a nice cafeteria type of food place to eat after work or have a meeting. You have limited options in the area. And food was good. Fast service and they got vacuum robot server bring dishes to the table. Good size parking lot.

Gorgonzola Chicken, it was That good!
Laura W.

Delicious BBQ chicken pizza. Crust is thin-BBQ sauce is light and tasty-Red onions, thin and fresh. 10/10 Gorgonzola Chicken. A flavorful Gorgonzola sauce with bell peppers. Served with mashed potatoes and broccoli and carrots. 10/10 Not on the menu, but ask for it, so nice. Fettuccine Alfredo. with chicken. Well done Classic. Chicken Parmesan. Nicely breaded, good marinara. Ribeye. A nice cut, on the thinner side. Really good. Accompanied by broccoli, carrots, and mashed potatoes. Garlic Bread 10/10 Friendly staff, food came promptly. Real Italian place. Look forward to returning .

My tea and soft, warm bread with olive oil and balsamic dips.

I was craving chicken Parmesan and found this place on Yelp. After reading so many great reviews I had to try it for myself. The restaurant itself is kept up well and clean with nice decor. Every table had its own olive oil and balsamic which is always so nice. Their bread is toasted with a delicate crunch and soft. It picked up the olive oil and balsamic very well. The olive oil and balsamic were good quality. The olive oil was delicate and aromatic, not too bitter or acidic. The balsamic was nicely balanced and also was not too acidic or harsh. I ordered the grilled romaine as an appetizer. The lettuce was crisp and the Caesar dressing was good. I tried their pumpkin ravioli in butter sage sauce which was nice. Their bread walnuts complimented it very nicely. The chicken Parmesan was very good. The waiter said they make their own tomato sauce. The tomato sauce was nicely balanced with good flavor. It was not bland or too salty, or acidic. The chicken Parmesan was satisfying. For desert I had a crème brûlée and that too was delicious. They were generous with the sugar topping and I loved cracking through it. I definitely would return.

In the last few years I've been here over and over again and the food is still great. The ambience is what you would expect and busy restaurant to be, service is amazing. My favorite place.

The mashed potatoes were incredibly soft, creamy, and full of flavor. We ordered the Margherita pizza and a cheese pizza for the kids, and both were delicious. The pizzas were cooked in a wood-fired brick oven, and you could really taste the difference. The carbonara was one of my favorite dishes. It came with an egg yolk on top that you mix into the pasta, making it rich, creamy, and flavorful. The lobster linguine was another standout dish. We also ordered the pork wings, which were so tender they practically fell off the bone and were served over delicious mashed potatoes. The mushroom ravioli was unique, comforting, and packed with flavor. We also shared the ribeye steak, which was cooked perfectly and was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. What really made the experience special was the service. The owner regularly stopped by to check on our table and make sure everything was good, and everyone working there was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service was excellent, and every dish tasted like it was made with care and love. This was one of the best Italian meals I've had in a long time, and we'll definitely be back!

The meatballs were flavorful, tender, and a great way to kick off dinner. The pork wings, though, just weren't for me I'd pass on those next time. The arugula salad was fresh and balanced, and we paired everything with a couple of IPAs, which hit the spot. For the mains, the Carbonara was rich, creamy, and exactly what you'd expect from a comforting pasta dish. The standout of the night was the Amatriciana pizza easily my favorite. Crispy crust, great flavor, and one of those pizzas you keep reaching back for. Overall, if you're looking for a local Italian spot for a relaxed Sunday family dinner, this place is worth checking out. Good food, cozy atmosphere, and enough highlights to bring us back. Solid 4 stars.

Unfortunately, the meatball sandwich just didn't live up to my expectations. Maybe it was an off day, but the meatballs and sauce were pretty underwhelming, and there was barely any cheese--it honestly felt like a few strands accidentally landed on the sandwich rather than being intentionally added. Considering the price, I expected a lot more. I'm sure there may be other items on the menu that people love, but I went specifically for the meatball sandwich, and it missed the mark for me. I don't see myself coming back, which is disappointing because I really wanted to like this place.

Loved that it had some classic dishes and some fusion ones as well. Came on a Friday night and joined the waitlist but only had to wait about 10 minutes! For appetizers we went with the server's recommendation; chicken gizzard confit. Chicken gizzard confit was mind blowing. As someone who enjoys things like gizzard, these were cooked in a way I had never had before and it was delicious. The uni pasta was sooo rich, creamy, and flavorful. 10/10 I would recommend it. Once step inside, the decoration, the vibe totally changed. It's a dark hue with humbling yet elegant setting with a bar table and I almost felt like a dining in the cave ambiance. The menu was not complicated and only focused on pasta, but there are so many choices to my liking! The squid ink, the mentai cream, the uni sauce, and the garlic butter sauce. We ended up settling with Creamy Crab Gratin, mentai cream pasta, the Pescatore Bianca (seafood spaghetti), and Tarako Spaghetti (Cod roe and squid garlic butter sauce). -Crab Gratin is really creamy and cheesy. I just didn't quite get why there are a few pieces of penne pasta inside. But overall tasted good! -All pasta comes with bread and salad. The salad is really fresh and serve mostly lettuce and cherry tomato, which is how I like it. The dressing is not the ranch creamy kind, more cloudy vinaigrette based, also to my liking. -Seafood spaghetti came with a variety of seafood, shrimp, squid ring, mussels, clams, etc. The portion is huge. -Mentai cream pasta: delicious! I think if I order uni pasta, it'll be the same cream base sauce but with uni and $6 bucks more. I'm happy with my choice. The whole dish is consistent, creamy with a slight kick from the mentai, slices of mushrooms and shredded seaweeds on the top. Delish! -Tarako Spaghetti: I took a small bite and appreciated the strong taste of garlic butter in the sauce. -All 3 pasta are served with the thin spaghetti like angel hair. Service is ok, we asked for water refill and the response was polite. Dirty dishes were taken away timely. If I had more time, I would definitely come back for a second visit. A place like this deserves to be in a more upscale block on the street. Btw, parking inside the plaza is not free even though it's just a strip mall. Expect about $8 bucks for dinner parking. It's gated entrance. If you get lucky, you can park on the street and pay the meter.

They use the same parking lot as Summerfield so it can get busy at some times. I called in to place an order for dinner and it was super easy and convenient. I ordered their Di Pilla Special pizza and a medium Parpadelle special pasta. The total for these dishes came out to be $62. Their portions are quite large since they're a family style restaurant. They also gave us complimentary bread which tasted amazing! I will say that I felt really heavy and full after this meal so this is definitely a cheat meal type of food. Food: Parpadelle Special Pasta (9/10): The noodles are huge and thick and the sauce gets absorbed perfectly. There's mushrooms, spinach, chicken with a white sauce base. They loaded this dish up with sauce which was heavenly. I even dipped my complimentary bread in the sauce because it just tasted that good. The chicken was so soft and wasn't overcooked at all. Between a family of three, there was a perfect amount and didn't have any leftovers. Di Pilla Special Pizza (9/10): Wow, the amount of toppings? Insane. We ordered the medium size which is a 14 inch. There was pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, hamburger, and bacon. I had to go back to their menu to see what toppings there were because wow was there a load full. I thought that the mushroom and bell pepper did overpower most of the slice. We had so many slices left over because of how full each slice makes you. I had it the day after and It was still tasty. Good food and the workers are chill. Owner is great too…read more My experience today: I was the second person in when 4 people walked in at approximately 11:33 am. I work a couple minutes away so the drive there is quick which is perfect for my 30 minute lunch break. I tend to either order my food ahead of time so it can be ready and I just pick it up and go or I drive somewhere where I know it's quick and easy because they're not busy or because they have specials ready to pick up. Anyways, After we (the 4 people) walked in ....no one else came in, so it wasn't crazy with a line. I usually come in and get the 2 slice special. Wait is usually nonexistent since the slices are literally ready to put in a box. I was helped by another guy today (black beard, black shirt ) and felt there was no urgency from him during the " lunch hour". The pace was the same if there were 100 people or 1 of us. He took my order I sat down, he helped someone else then someone else then he shuffled some papers and got distracted by a little girl yelling across the street while waiting at the bus stop, then he headed to the back to do whatever and then came back out and answered the phone which is when I walked up and asked for a refund. I waited for a min and he noticed me then started getting the box ready for my slices and I told him to just give me a refund. He asked another guy to come over and he returned my funds back to my card and I kept the receipt and he apologized. I attached the receipt to show the time when I finally walked out 11:43 am 10 minutes after my order for two slices ready to go only a step away from the cashier. I never even got the soda cup to sip on while I waited. I may or may not return. If I do return and I see the gentleman in the black shirt that helped me today I'll just walk out. Most likely I won't be returning off this ONE experience. Do I recommend the food ? Yes Is the staff nice and attentive? Yes, Most of them Make what you want with this review but this was my experience today. I would've put this at a 4/5 review based of my past experiences but today made me drop it to 3/5. Hope this restaurant does well. I know it's hard for businesses to exist with the current economy which would make you think people should be thankful for their jobs and their income. I had…read moreflown from New York during a dreary stretch, and landing in sunny Los Angeles felt like arriving on another planet. California offered an immediate rush of light, space, and possibility. My memory is that when I turned my phone back on at LAX, my friend messaged to say he'd gotten us the hookup at Bestia. That dinner belongs to a chapter in which I spent considerable time in California and felt energized by the contrast with New York. My friend is highly discerning, with impeccable taste in food, design, and culture. He notices details most people miss, so when a place impresses him, I pay attention. From the moment I saw his message, I knew the reservation meant something. Even before we entered, Bestia's character was evident. Faded lettering crossed the corrugated metal facade, while brick walls and old loading doors preserved the warehouse's industrial history. Inside, enormous windows and garage doors brought light into a room shaped by glass, exposed ductwork, and warm amber pendants. When I fantasize about living in a loft, many of the attributes I picture are here, especially the incredible windows and connection to the street. Inside the restaurant, the dining room achieved a combination I rarely encounter. It had the table density and collective buzz of a great New York restaurant, but within a large, design-forward space closer in scale to something found in Chicago. New York creates energy through tight rooms, while Chicago excels at ambitious spaces with strong architectural identities. Bestia captured both advantages and made its considerable footprint feel alive and unified. We sat shoulder to shoulder at a pale stone counter facing the open kitchen. Golden era hip hop was playing, and A Tribe Called Quest still rings a very specific bell. I ordered the squid ink pasta, and it was exquisite, with enough depth and precision to command attention amid everything happening around us. We also spotted an unmistakably A-list celebrity, whom I will leave unnamed, making the night feel quintessentially Los Angeles. During that period, I often stayed at the Ace Hotel downtown, and the Arts District felt vibrant, raw, and full of possibility. The proximity to Skid Row could be deeply jarring, with severe hardship existing beside ambitious development and expensive restaurants. That contrast kept the neighborhood from feeling like a neat story of urban renewal, even as Bestia seemed to anchor its evolution. The warehouses and loading docks gave the area a character that no new development could convincingly recreate. Nearby, I also remember the American Apparel complex during its demise and the rise of impossibly cool Los Angeles designer John Elliott. His Escobar sweatpants and Villain hoodie helped define the kit of that moment; loyalists will understand. Los Angeles is a fickle city, drawn toward whatever is new and shiny, which makes Bestia's longevity especially impressive. Scene without substance is plastic, and Bestia earned its electricity through exceptional cooking, assured service, and a remarkable space; if I lived in Los Angeles, this would be one of the places I'd rely on whenever I wanted to impress someone. This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the world.
