Abysmal Experience at Game On - Avoid at All Costs As an…read moreavid Magic: The Gathering player, I've had the pleasure of visiting numerous game stores across various states. Each one, until now, has welcomed me with open arms, fostering a loving and accepting community. Game On, however, was the polar opposite, and my experience there was nothing short of appalling. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was unwelcoming, a stark contrast to the vibrant and friendly environments I've come to expect. The staff, across the board, was rude and disrespectful, making it clear that customer service is not a priority here. The most egregious behavior came from an employee named Gabby. Her attitude was incredibly rude and disrespectful, and her unprofessionalism single-handedly ruined any chance of a positive experience. It's truly disheartening to encounter such a negative demeanor in a hobby that thrives on camaraderie and shared passion. Beyond the atrocious staff, the store itself is overpriced. Their inventory is marked up significantly higher than any other game store I've visited, which, coupled with the terrible service, makes it an entirely unappealing place to shop. It's no surprise that Game On seems to actively discourage customers from viewing their Yelp page. My visit made it abundantly clear why they would want to hide the inevitable deluge of negative feedback. Save your money and your sanity. There are countless welcoming and fairly priced game stores out there. Game On is not one of them. I made a Yelp account specifically to leave this review because I feel like people should know that they are awful.

Came to check this place out on a visit to Cottonwood, and was pleasantly surprised. The store is…read moreeasy to find and has a little bit of everything: board games, video games, comic books, and tabletop war game models, paints and accessories. Prices are about what you'd expect, depending on what you're looking for. This seems like a great place if you're into retro gaming--they had tons of gaming consoles that accept old cartridges, and plenty of controllers and accessories to go with. Their used game section was odd--some games were reasonably priced for being used, others seemed really expensive given how old they were. I was there to look for 40K supplies, and the tabletop gaming section was excellent. Tons of models and paints for sale all at "normal" prices for the brand. Overall it was a cool experience and I'd definitely go back.

Lots of products across multiple gaming types, a large game room in the back where they can host play, and, as a girl gamer, I always need to point out the bathrooms have free feminine hygiene supplies and toilet seat covers! There is also spray-on deodorant in the bathroom, so long to all-day competitions that smell of B.O. because at Game On they can be a thing of the past! I haven't been able to get back up there yet cause it's quite a drive, but anyone in the area looking for a game store, I highly recommend these guys. It's a nice store with friendly staff that will shoot you straight!
