Waters Garden Center is the best place to but plants annuals perennials etc etc. trees shrubs. A great rose selection. They have a good selection and variety of pots and garden items. The staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable. If the person helping doesn't know something they'll get the expert to help eg with various solutions for pests etc. There plants all come with a great guarantee which I've used on a couple f occasions. read more

We stopped in to work on a few projects, including pots and plants. We ran across Cheri and Stephen, who provided us with lots of information and tips on what to look for. I learned more with these two in one hour than I have in 25 years going to other nurseries and big box stores. They really know their stuff starting from plants, how to plant, how much to water, and to keep your plants healthy. It was truly an amazing experience... who would've thought that just buying plants. Highly recommend this garden center. Look up these two talents individuals. read more

What a destination and what a find. This Team may be the most 'emotionally intelligent' and "in touch" group we have encountered in Yavapai County. Their very genuine approach with interacting with the customer is so, so valuable. We had read about Mckenzie Lain, their Superstar extraordinaire earlier in the week. For medical reasons my wife is routinely in a protective face mask and I join to keep her safe. Mckenzie totally 'got this' as sometimes people can be offended. She gave us a mini-master class regarding the plants she suggested and the ones we considered. Never once did we feel like we were taking too much of her time, in part, because she is so passionate about her trade. Living in PV, we have always felt that the area nurseries we visited were not truly customer centric. Watters Garden Center is so focused on the customer. Truly a reminder of what 'customer facing' service was like a decade or more ago. Waters is by far the best nursery for any type of trees, shrubs, or anything else for landscaping. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional making it easy to get what you need or want. So ---there is a limited selection of nurseries here - as in almost none except the Big Box Stores. That said, we bought a couple of trees here that were expensive but in very good condition. They have matured and endured while trees we bought at other places died. So if you are investing in long-term landscape this is the best place in town. read more

The best nursery in town! When I first moved here I came from Phx-I wasn't sure how to garden anymore-mile high altitude is a very different climate! I learned very quickly, as Watters provides videos, instructions sheets, blog archives and podcast archives about so many different plants and gardening tips for our unique high desert climate! Plus they carry many plants you can't find at other garden centers. I love their mulch, fertilizer and top soil as well-my garden is thriving with these added amendments! The owners are usually there when I go in, and are friendly and helpful, as is the staff. We are so lucky to have them here! read more

Watters was recommended to me by an arborist who gave me an estimate on tree removal. I planned to buy a large box tree to replace a previous owners poor choice. A friend and I walked in about 1:00 pm yesterday, walked all around the nursery, and looked at all the trees. We passed an employee who was chatting, made eye contact, but could not be bothered to greet us, another who pointedly did not look directly at us and on the way out, another walked by right in front of us with the "ear buds". We were the only customers there. The parking lot was empty. We were put off by the lack of customer service. I will not be back. read more

Every time I have dealt with Watters everyone has been very helpful and friendly, and above else, knowledgeable on the subject. I've dealt with too many discount nurseries where the sales associates knew nothing about gardening -- not their fault, but the fault of the management for poor hiring and training practices. Watters is not the cheapest, but I rely on them for their expertise and quality of products. read more

This garden center has a huge variety, plus a lot of patio and garden accents. The reason we gave them 2 stars is their return policy, buyer beware they will only give you 50% of the purchase price on your return ( and they are high priced!!) we purchased 2 plants from them watered the plants exactly the same and after one week one of the plants dried up and died, went back to exchange and were informed we would only get 1/2 of the purchase price towards the exchange. Our assistant was a bit rude and said we had to accept responsibility for the plants condition! This was ridiculous for a return within a week, needless to say we took the money and went to Home Depot!! read more

Prices are a bit high. But, the quality of the plants far surpass that of Lowe's & Home Depot. I'm okay with spending more to get quality plants and trees. Employees have always been helpful and polite. read more

I have had two bad experiences so far! Bought a $100 tree for our courtyard. We asked the employee if the tree was deciduous. ..since we didn't want a messy tree in our courtyard that would take maintenance. We were told that it was not. Imagine our surprise, after paying a landscape contractor to put it in the courtyard and, when fall came.....it WAS deciduous! ! Had to pay the landscape contractor again to come take it out and dispose of the $100 tree! Our second problem occurred when we needed some shrubs that were not poisonous to our dogs....again we asked an employee and we're told that the two Heavenly Bamboo shrubs were not poisonous to our dogs. Once again....hired a landscape contractor to plant them.....you guessed it...later found out that the plants ARE poisonous to dogs. Moral of the story....don't trust their knowledge. read more

I love Watters Nursery! There is always someone there to help you as you are looking around. Both times that I was there to create an arrangement in a flower pot, I have been approached to offer help. They are always ready to offer suggestions on arrangements for the pot. I usually check out other garden depts. such as Home Depot or Lowes, but I always end up at Watters. I can count on quality plants and expert advice, which I really like/need! read more

Most of the trees we bought are small and SLOW growing (not told that) - especially now that we have compared trees at other nurseries. Several died (still owed one by them although they did replace some at no charge). And very expensive verse other nurseries in the area. read more
