This place is great. My husband walked in very late on a Friday afternoon. Despite the obvious exhaustion on the employee's faces, their customer service was top-notch. We were greeted with a "WELCOME" as soon as we walked in and they were very patient with us as we made our decisions. Unfortunately they weren't able to squeeze us in for installation so late on a Friday (I later learned they were there until 10 PM working on prior commitments to other customers!) so I returned on Monday afternoon. I was welcomed with the same level of customer service as before and Ginelle and Elena even split a bag of M & M's with me. If that's not customer appreciation, I don't know what is! The installation was done in a jiffy and everyone was very sensitive to my truck's needs. The experience was wonderful. I felt like I was being taken care of by friends. If i could give it zero stars I would. The manager John says whatever he can to make himself look like he's a good guy whos doing you a favor but his word is trash. None of his warranties are valid. They make you pay for insurance and then don't want to do there part when you claim something. The rims are cheap the tires are cheap the service is pathetic. They take money outta your card when they have no authorization. He talks shit when he's and the wrong. Annoying af. read more

This has to be my absolute best experience at any rent a tire location by far. Jon greeted me with a smile and immediately asked if I needed help. I then saw a familiar face, Louie! Louie obviously made the wise decision to leave the location at 38 1/2 street and open this store. Seeing as he was the only person at that store who ever worked. In ten minutes helped me pick out rims and got things rolling. And guess what?! No wait! In all my life I've never been so promptly helped with efficient and excellent service. 30 minutes later my new rims and tires were done! Every employee at this location was glad to answer questions and help me. Please tell me how I was in and out 100 percent complete, from application, to instillation, to contract, all in 1 hour, when I have spent entire mornings or afternoons waiting on a single tire at other locations (38 1/2 st) ?!!!? I will tell you how! It's management plus valuable employees. Even if I had to wait longer than one hour for any tire need I had, I would make sure to be at this location because customer service is everything, and Jon and the rest of the South Congress crew went above and beyond their requirements in the customer service department and gave me 110 percent. So yes this was by far the best service I have ever received by any Rent a Tire location. I will be a returning customer as long as they keep up the exceptional service. After waiting a few weeks to find the right rims for my 2013 Camaro. ..I was very happy when I found not only a unique set of tire and wheels but a great knowledgeable team who went over and beyond the call of duty to make sure we were 110% satisfied... we have multiple vehicles and will not hesitate to refer friends family and strangers to this awesome location... with that being said the best part was all the compliments and head turning we get everywhere we go... Well we got rims and tires today when they brought our car out the left driver side looked low so they took it back to check it said it was tps well i got very ill that nite bout 830 we go to the car and the same tire was flat we also had another emergecy my fiancee mom is admitted in to round rock hospital i wanted to keep my. I went in three weeks ago with my fiancé and since the car insurance ect is under my mothers name the account for the tires we got is under her name but we went in and changed it to my fiancé's card so we can make the payments. Anyways, we called back last week because they hadn't charged his card, okay that's fine we gave them the card info again no big deal. This payment we noticed no charge has gone through and we called yet again and his card is still not in there system after three weeks and the manager JOHN was VERY rude and just made excuses !!!! What were you all doing the first two times we gave you the information??? I doubt this will be the last time we call them back due to not charging the card. The manager just made excuses of how so many people come in and they don't have time to do it, well you know what THAT IS YOUR JOB IF ITS TOO MUCH FOR YOU TO DO THEN MAYBE IT SHOULDN'T BE YOUR J.O.B !!!!! WORST customer service ever!!! And on top of this when me and my mother went in for the first time ever, Josh I believe his name was had told us Repairing the tire was free, getting nitrogen for the tire was free & our payments were by- weekly All of that was bull crap. If I could I would give this place a NEGATIVE 5 STARS!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Some of the review says, "approached quickly for customer service". Yea there is a reason for that, it's freakin empty! So I originally went in on a Saturday morning looking for tires to put on 18 inch rims. (Originally purchased at Tires To You Rims&Tires $800) The guys greeted me with smiles and seemed eager to help, the manager or whatever (colored eyes) was even a bit flirtatious. They looked at my tire size I needed and said they didn't have that in stock so they would need to order it and a $100 deposit was required for a total cost of $1,200 just for Tires!!! I was desperately in need of tires as mine had wires coming out already so I agreed to pay the deposit and they had me fill out a basic info sheet, afterwards the manager extended his hand said welcome to rent a tire. Corny. No other paper work was filled, they said the tires would be there by Monday so to stop by get them installed and finish filling out paper work(contract). After going home I started thinking that they didn't tell me what brand they were, what terrain they were, nothing! I also started to review my budget, $80 a week was too much! That's pretty much my car payment! I wouldn't be able to comfortably afford that! I went back Monday to let them know that I wouldn't be able to get the tires after all, and if I could get my deposit refunded I mean wasn't this the honest thing to do. The manager got very frustrated and said, "Well this why we ask all customers to be sure about it, before they sign up". NOBODY ONCE ASKED ME IF I WAS SURE, THEY SURE WERE QUICK TO SWIPE THAT DEBIT CARD THOUGH. He said that they wouldn't be able to give me my deposit back because he had already ordered the tires and they were USELESS to him!! He didn't need those tires, nobody ever goes in there and asks for that size of tire, they're special order that's why they didn't have them in stock. IT'S A TIRE SHOP!!!!!! THERE'S RIMS ALL OVER THAT PLACE!!!! VERY RUDE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! I kept it cool and toned done the whole time he was telling me this hoping he would calm down and refund my money. He said he needed to speak with his supervisor about and he would call me back later that day. I called back 3 days later and asked an employee if they had heard anything back on my refund and they were like " Oh yea, your name is right here on the chalk board we've been waiting for you to come in, were only going to be able to refund half though". WTF? Whatever... I went in and got my $50 refund, couldn't wait for this entire thing to be over. read more

Not first time we messed with rent a tire. My dad has got tires in the past and every time we had problem with a tire they fixed it or replaced it just like they say. I just ordered some rims and tires from this place currently waiting for them. I am aware I may end up paying more than I'm supposed to but it's better than just spitting out that cash at once! The customer service is awesome! The main boss is really chilled. He let me order new rims and tires for $100 deposit! Instead of $400 or $500! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I give total thanks to Jon and his crew for taking such great care of me and my emergency tire replacements. After a 450 mile out-of-town trip for a family emergency, I was stuck back in Austin in the pouring rain in 6:00 p.m. rush hour traffic with a flat when I called Jon who said " Come on in! We will wait for you!" That was the best thing I had heard all day! Jon and his crew found rubber peeling away from the tire's surface, a slow leak in another area of the tire, and a second tire with a screw embedded in it that could have resulted in a blow-out at highway speeds. I realized just how lucky I was to have made it to them in time. Four new tires later, I am back on the road with confidence that in-town or out-of-town driving will now be 100% safe with tires I can afford. I feel blessed to have made that call to Jon and received the quick results that I did! NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO THIS PLAC!!! JOHN the manager is a total jerk. If you have a problem with your tires and your account is at another store dont go to this one. John was very unprofessional and got angry because he had to fill out 15 PAGES FOR ONE TIRE. He sure did remind me of that several times. He also spoke badly about another customer, did not say a name, but said to another employee. "Those tires for that BITCHY CUSTOMER, THE ONE THAT'S ALWAYS BITCHING." I requested to speak to his boss and would not allow me to speak to him. He also said he was tired of cleaning the mess from the other store ( the one on 38th st where i originally purchased the tires). He told me since the cars info was not attached to the tires, then i would have to purchase it or his store would have to pay for it.
