A long day at Rawhide Harley last Friday. I had taken a couple of test rides the day before with sales rep Jake Gilliam, a Nightster and a Sportster. Enjoyed the rides but not quite what I was looking for. I stopped by the next day with my wife, who does not ride, because she knows I've been looking hard at Harley's. I've owned Metrics most of my riding experience. I just had a Harley bug. I took a couple more test rides with Jacob and it still wasn't quite right. About this time after spending hours with Jacob, I was ready to walk and continue looking. I wasn't ready to spend the big bucks and buy new, but what I tested just weren't right. I know Jacob was disappointed I couldn't settle. He was probably the most patient and laid back salesman I've ever met. He didn't give up though. I know he knew I wanted a Harley so he got the sales manager Mike to sit with us to see if there was anything else they could do. I said probably not today. He ask me if I wanted to see one more bike and I figured, why not. It was a 2023 Softail with only 1400 miles on it and it was a beauty. Jacob grabbed another bike and we were out again. This time I was like I should have ridden this one first. By the time we got back to the dealership I was ready to sit back down with Mike the manager. A half hour later I was signing paperwork on a practically new Harley at the right price and financing with Ron Smith. It was a long day but everyone we met a Rawhide that day touring all the departments made us feel pretty special. Especially Jacob Gilliam. New bike. 5 trips to fix a primary leak. Fixed Yes and..NO! Didn't route battery tender wire correctly. Melted on pipes. Back to shop and they put a different wire on other a 2025 piece. Did not put wires through the cap that protected connectors. Also put wrong oil filter on during service. Black filter not Chrome that matches or bike package. December-August 9 times to fix,maintain or DO THE JOB RIGHT. Can we say FUBAR? STAY away!! You get a RAW deal at RAWHIDE! Our bike has spent more time in the shop than I an riding time. 2 ,070 miles on a 2025 model. read more

An overwhelming amount of motorcycles awaits you when you wall in the door. A handsome gentleman leads you to coffee and an elevator. My one does not want me to ascend that staircase to the 2nd floor, where the merchandise resides. We admired the plethora of motorcycles, 5he seemingly endless stacks and racks of t-shirts, ultimately purchasing 2. There was a poker run going on indoors, as it is a rainy day outside. I have NEVER had a worse experience with any other shop. I only came here because it was closer than worth Harley Davidson. After a dozen of my riding group guys recommended that I don't go there I chose not to listen AND even stuck up for the guys here at rawhide only to go a month without my bike, then when it was "ready" to pick up AND they told me to my face that they test drove my bike I left the shop only to find out my throttle was slipping and left button cluster wasn't working. I walked in on Saturday, October 9, 2022 preapproced for $14,000 at 5.29% for a motorcycle. I was immediately asked for my credit information so they could do an app there, and that they could do better than my interest rate. I allowed myself to be railroaded into a 6.79% deal, at 72 months. At no point did I ever say how long to finance, not was I asked. We negotiated the price. I was railroaded into an additional 12 months of interest. I left a message on 10-10-2022 saying I was going to refuse the cycle delivery (scheduled for 10-10-22) and that we'd start over. I feel I was railroaded and cheated. Someone called from a 913 area code, but left no message. I'm now working on a blistering letter to Harley about the dealerships techniques. I see at least one of the other reviews are similar to mine. read more

Rawhide's response to my review does not justified their action or the action of the Harley industry. I'm not sure how accurate the response was, as I have been told by other Harley Dealers that each loaction is responsible for how they handle their extended warranties. Only recently has that changed and Harley implemented a Nation-wide extended warranty plan. The bottom line is that it is very poor business practice to charge a customer for usage of an extended warranty, while the factor warranty is in affect. Basically that is right-out stealing from your customers. A very deceitful business practice. Again, I wouldn't recommend that anyone purchase an extended warranty because they are assessing charges while your factory warranty is in affect. Based on my experience, a one is the lowest rating that I can give otherwise I would give a zero. read more

Sent in an inquiry for my first bike they had the one I wanted which wasn't a Harley but it was in my price range they scheduled a vip experience get there told them what bike was looking at and immediately started what seemed to look down on us then we was told we couldn't test drive the bike due to insurance purposes then tried to get us away from the bike I wanted and put us on something 3x its price I requested and also charging 1,000 for inspection fees and the bike was filthy. Tony in the parts department is a class act. I'm embarrassed to say I asked about a part and at no fault of Tony's I could tell I had him confused and a little lost regarding my need. I acted rudely and hung up the phone. Tony called me back about ten minutes later and leaves me a voicemail. I have had my challenges with Rawhide over the years, however while we were waiting for some service to be completed, met Big Tim Barber. We discussed some of my previous challenges, he did something unusual he LISTENED! We ultimately struck up a good conversation and discusses if I was looking for a new bike. Told him know as we had just purchased a third. Mentioned that we could buy the VIP program on it. I was unaware of that and thanked him. Additionally when we went in for the customer appreciation event, he recognized us, shook out hands and asked of we were looking for anything. Said a windshield and we found one. Extremely friendly and professional staff. I just moved to Lenexa and Brandon Rosema went above and beyond to make me feel like welcome. They fixed up my bike pretty quick. The battery had some issues that went unnoticed until I got there. They could have just jump started the bike but they threw a new battery in there free of labor cost. I just bought my second bike from Rawhide. The first one was a new Road King in 2014. I just traded it in on a new 2020 Ultra Limited. Bobby was our fitment specialist and worked with my wife and I to make sure that she had a back rest that fit her the best. The Road King made he back ache in longer trips but the Ultra fits her better, even better than the two CVOs we were considering. Bobby made sure we got what worked for us and wasn't there just to sell another bike. They all even worked past store hours last Sunday to finish the deal. I was considering purchasing a new Harley from this dealership but after having some interactions with one of their sales people Dan Howe, I would never we're my money. he said they wouldn't deal and added on extra dollars to MSRP because they owned 23 dealers in the area and could, so if you went someplace else, they were still going to over charge you. Wow. What an experience. These guys are amazing. They have a system in place and a well organized process for finding the right bike for you, and helping you afford it. I had already made my mind up to buy a Harley, so I made an appointment with Sutagee, and think I made a new friend. I went in thinking I wanted a Breakout, test drove two, couldn't make the numbers work, I wasn't crazy about the fit and feel, so based on a conversation I had with Sutagee, he recommended I look into the Softail Heritage. All I had to do was sit on the bike, and I knew it was mine. Test drove it, and fell in love. Guess who has a new 2019 Heritage Softail? This guy..... Once you get through the basics, they take you on a tour of the company, introduce you to the Service Dept, the Parts Dept, and the Merchandise dept. Everyone there, including but not limited to, Sutagee, Pete, Capp (Harvey :-), and Cameron were unbelievably friendly, and wanted to make sure our experience was top notch. You don't realize it unless you have a Harley, but when you buy a Harley, you join a family, and are part of a club. 2 stars on a good day. That being said I have yet to find a harley dealership that was awesome! Seriously people I spend a ton of money there and it always takes over 30 min to just check my bike in for service. Part of the issue with this dealership and others is major turn over and low pay I am sure. But Harley is hurting for customers sooo you should consider much better service for the ones you have. I just bought a 2019 Road Glide and Brandy took good care of me. I am a handful when I am negotiating and he did a good job of not letting me go look at the used Harley on my next stop. Thanks Brandy, I love this bike! I can't believe we got this deal done and I am riding a brand new bike! I went to Rawhide last year after none of the other Harley dealers, and I went to more than one, cared to put me on a Road Glide since I told them up front that I wasn't ready to buy yet. Rawhide had me on a Road Glide within 15 minutes of walking in. So they were the first ones I called when I was ready to buy a year later. I am very demanding when I spend this kind of money and those guys earned this sale from start to finish. Well let me say it should not ever take 8 hrs to buy anything. The people were nice but their tactics to get you to buy a bike are suspect at best. I went in to buy a bike I saw online and when I arrived the bike miraculously was sold. Now mind you it was an used bike but the gag was when I was interested in another used bike they had strongly refused to sell it over a new bike. So, within the 8hrs of back and forth I finally agreed to the bike. The bike is awesome as you would expect from Harley, but my brother bought the exact same bike and the Harley dealer he dealt with had so many more extras at the same price point that it felt like I was ripped off. But hind sight is 20/20 and I regret not doing my research on the dealer. read more

I contacted Rawhide Harley Davidson and requested to purchase a used bike they had advertised on their website. The advertised price was $32,388.00. I told the sales manager I was not needing financing; my bank would wire the money in full, plus whatever the delivery charges were. I was informed by the sales manager that since I would not be coming into the dealership in person, I would have to pay an extra $6,000.00. I explained to him that I am recovering from major surgery and cannot travel at the time. He did not care and said the $6,000.00 surcharge would still apply. Nowhere on their website is this condition of sale advertised or made known to their customers. I filed a complaint with Harley Davidson Corporate, and they also reached out to the dealership and confirmed the hidden $6,000.00 surcharge for not buying in person. read more

Purchased a Harley on trade in from my Kawasaki sport bike. The sales rep and assistant manager were awesome. Even though I had a problem with the finance rep they overcame the problem by immediately assisting with an replacement finance rep. Issue with Financing: the gentleman asked me 10+ times why I was not buying the VIP plan or extended warranty, which is their job. But I warned him if he kept asking and discussing my personal finances in regards to the extended and VIP I would walk out. So I walked out of the office and asked the site manager for assistance and they gladly helped and got me a different person. Overcharged for parts: I was charged $850 more than I should have been by the finance department (By Error, I hope) and they called me a week later when finalizing the paperwork and immediately refunded the money. They were very kind and it amazed me that they went into high attention to detail and found this for me. I'm sure others would overlook this. Will continue to go back read more

My husband and I went in to inquire about a used bike. They would not give us a price. However, with my husband's information (DOB, Name and address) they pulled his credit. We told them not to run his credit because they would not give us a price on the bike, well, they ran it anyway, now we won't be able to get a conventional mortgage on a house through our credit union because the inquiries pulled his credit score down. Stay away from these lying jerks. After sitting in their office for 3 hours, they were just concerned about selling us something that did not fit in our budget. They would just give us a monthly payment, not the purchase price of the bike. They repeatedly gave us the run around and we finally left. The finance manager told my husband he was stupid for finally getting fed up and walking out. We found out they pulled his credit when we became members of a credit union and they had to pull our credit. We not only are devastated by their multiple deceptions, we will never give them another dime. (Through out the years we have bought thousands of dollars worth of gift cards as presents, we will NEVER go back!) read more
