I really needed a pair of sunglasses so I stopped in here to check it out with the intend to buy. They have a huge selection and very well designed store. If you were as clueless as I was trying to figure out what types of sunglasses there are, look to the right when you initially go into the store, that'll give you a rundown on what's what. They have staff behind every section if you need help. You can try on anything, just put them back where they belong. You'll be staring at yourself in mirrors all day long but once you find the perfect style, you need to find the perfect color. An extremely friendly staff helped me find the right pair. I forgot her name but it was this cute short girl (thanks!) She happily gave me a run-down on reflective vs non, different styles, when it was made, etc. I ended up getting the pair. BTW. Yes, this place is expensive. But you're not going into raybans to buy a cheap pair of sunglasses. Recommended for anyone looking to purchase a nice pair of sunglasses. I have a pair of Clubmaster sunglasses that I absolutely love and are at least 15 years old. Unfortunately, I recently damaged them in a bad biking accident and when I tried to get them repaired via Ray-Ban's website, I was unsuccessful because I could not provide the model/serial numbers to create a work order(the glasses are so well-worn/loved that all of the numbers on the interior had worn-off). Last night I popped-in to this store with my poor glasses and Elizabeth was able to find all of the necessary replacement parts to do a full repair on my glasses on-the-spot, free-of-charge. She was so kind and incredibly helpful. My Clubmasters are now good-as-new, and I am so grateful to Elizabeth for all of her time, caring and expertise. Love my Ray-Bans and I will be back again should I ever need a new pair of regular glasses. Many thanks again! read more

Bought on Amazon in Dec 2020 and the UV began peeling in May 2021. Customer service at RayBan stated it was not a defect in craftsmanship. Resolution offered was to pay $125 to repair the lense for a $150 pair of glasses. read more

Beware - they will not honor the same promotions that Ray Ban has on their website (which is often better). I had purchased from this location in the past and came to purchase another pair yesterday and was told they do not honor the same Black Friday promotions that they have on their website so you may end up paying more in the store! read more

So I received several emails about their Black Friday account. I selected a pair of Ray Bans and it wouldn't let me upload it to the shopping cart. So I selected another pair it went to the cart. I had created an account through this process went to checkout and it gave me a 403 error. Said I didn't type in my telephone number as I was staring at my telephone number clearly. After attempting to go back to start over I lost all permission to the website. One would think as big of a company as Ray Ban is that they would have a user friendly website. I'm so pissed. I have owned over a dozen wayfarers in my life and now I can't access the site, participate in their special and it took me over an hour to finally get a pair in my shopping bag and when I went to check out it got some reason gave me an error although their was a check mark next to it and now I cannot access the site . Their live chat had no one available and I sent them a message to email me and didn't get a timely response. Bizarre. read more

I'd like to make Ray-Ban corporate aware of my disappointing costumer experience at your 116 Wooster St, New York, NY 10012 store on January 7th. My hope is this experience will shed light on the implications of your gift card policy and instore customer service. Maybe this will cause corporate to implement better gift card policies and management training for store managers. I came into the store to purchase a new pair of sunglasses after loosing my last pair. I had my Ray-Bans for nearly seven years - always liked them and thought why bother looking at other brands. I decided to visit a brick and mortar store vs purchasing online because I wanted to be sure the glasses fit right and could be adjusted if need be. When I arrived to the store with my husband I selected a pair of sunglasses with the help of a nice sales associate. I went to checkout, intending to pay partially with a gift card and debit card. I was told gift cards could NOT be redeemed in store, online only. This was really frustrating for myself and my husband as he purchased the gift card and was not aware of the restriction. As one could imagine, this was disappointing. I immediately realized, despite making the effort to go to the store I would not be leaving with a purchase. I asked to speak with the store manager, she reiterated the gift card restrictions and offered to place an order online. While a viable option not what I had intended to do. If I wanted to order glasses online I would have stayed at home and done that. I came to the store to buy glasses. My next thought was maybe I'll have my husband get a refund on the gift card and then just purchase the glasses. I asked the manager if she could refund the gift card purchase, she said refunds are done with customer service over the phone. I asked her if she could call customer service for us in the store so we could get a refund and move on. I had to ask her multiple times if she could call for us and then she said with an attitude I had to ask "nicely". I was blind sided by her attitude and disrespect because up until this point our interaction had been likely pretty standard and I had never raised my voice or been rude. She eventually called customer service and told us they weren't open... unbelievable. Instead of leaving the store with a new pair of sunglasses I left the store feeling like Ray-Ban never wanted my business to begin with and worse disrespected by the store manager. Having worked in consumer branding and marketing for 10 years I understand the lengths brands go to convey an image to consumers. Today your image was damaged. Today I realized that Ray-Ban has some policies enacted that disrupt a positive consumer journey and worse yet Ray-Ban has chosen to put individuals in store management positions that are incapable of communicating and navigating basic customer service related issues without offending and disrespecting customers. read more

I first purchased a new pair of Sunglasses. After a week I decided to get some prescription lenses on an other Ray Ban frame. Manuela, the young lady was excellent, caring, very interested in my problem. She even followed up by phone to let me know when they would come in, and she called again to let me know that they were in. But she also came out of the store, to hand me the glasses, as I have a 4 months grandson, and it was raining, and there was no parking. This is more for their customer service department and overall online experience. They deserve 0 stars - Every time you call expect to be on hold for 30+ mins trying to speak to someone, and when you finally do they are quick to brush you off the phone. I placed an order online for prescription sunglasses (costs about $500+) takes 1.5 weeks to deliver. They sent me the wrong prescription..like not even close to my prescription...then they will offer the return and refund. returning the items takes 1.5 weeks to get back to their facilities, then it takes another 20-25 business days for the refund to be processed... 20-25 BUSINESS DAYS?!?!?! THATS MORE THAN A MONTH TO GET MY MONEY BACK. STAY AWAY FROM PRESCRIPTION ONLINE ORDERS FROM THE WEBSITE....do them in person! Luckily for me, having the persistence that I do after a 43 min call (36 min of which were on hold) my refund was processed by the manager on the call. Best of luck to all future online purchases. I, for sure will be thinking twice about ordering online again. BTW: I've been to this location and the store is amazing the staff is great and the store is always clean. This review is the for the Times Square location. I get that it's busy and there are a lot of tourists coming in and out but I had a receipt for a return of a pair of Ray Bans, and the salesperson told me he couldn't return them even though I got the initial pair of glasses there. He said they have an older system and I'd have to go downtown--sort of not my problem. And he was so dismissive it was rude. I went to Soho and mentioned this to the saleswoman and even she was confused. Conclusion: if you want good customer service go to Soho, not Times Square. read more

Inside the store there is a big camera that takes your pic when u try on the shades so that u can see how they will look on your face if you were to buy them. Love this place. read more

I never write reviews but this experience was worth me taking time to do so. In this city we often rush, get rushed and more so get few assistance from some stores. I came in today with a broken pair of glasses, not even bought at this store and without a receipt. I was ready to pay (I LOVE this model) but the sales associate Giny offered to replace them for free. This is what I call genuine customer service, and all that with a bright smile. Had to stop in to purchase a pair of the new Ray-Ban Club Round, I was immediately greeted by the staff while I tried on a few pairs, my assistant was Tara, the cutest most helpful gal ever. She was so bubbly and excited to help me out. She introduced me to other styles (which I fell in love with, Tara had me almost walking away with two). Don't waste your money on Ray Bans. Mine are less than 6 months old and the temple covers fell off leaving sharp daggers. I've taken them to the Ray Ban store and they won't repair them. They tell you to go to customer service. Who needs an hour long hassle on the phone and then to wait forever for them to come. They should fall apart. The Ray Ban management are to blame (not the nice shop attendants) because the management don't even make it easy to fix their cheap crap that they charge a lot for. Reasons why people will go to Soho (the most fashion trendy area in the United States) for both an eye exam and prescription glasses: + You want the best possible service available along with the most up to date styles/trends + You don't have any insurance in the first place and are fine with paying up front for what you actually want instead of settling for something more "basic", "affordable" Spent two or so weeks doing research on where to get my next pair of prescription eye glasses. Gothamist had a cool article of the top 5 places to get some decent frames. Warby parker was one of the places. Nice, and very Apple Genius Bar like for Frames. Even the way you made an appointment was like Apple. Spent an hour or so there trying on different frames but I wasn't feeling any of the frames which were priced just a tad cheaper then Moscot or Oliver Peoples (the other stores named in the article). One place that wasn't named in the article as having a decent selection of prescription frames (not to mention top quality) was the Ray Ban Store. I remember there being a ray ban store in soho but never thought to check them for eye glasses. They were always my go to spot for Sun glasses and the pair of New Wayfarers I've had since 2011 have been very good to me (both in comfort and ageless style). What I didn't know was that they had just opened in a new location (since last November) and that same day I dropped by (after having gone by Warby Parker) they had just gotten their very own Optometrist. I'm in the Ray ban store browsing their massive selection and leave after an hour or so (didn't buy anything). The Staff was awesome and was more then adamant in answering all my questions. The next day it hit me to go with Ray Ban and turn my super comfortable New Wayfarers into prescription eye glasses (why not?). Cancel my appointment at Warby Parker and make one with Ray Ban. The Doctor (Dr. Marolla, pronounced Corolla but with an "M") at Ray Ban was top notch. They also had some new state of the art eye equipment that you won't find at "regular" eye doctor spots. I don't have insurance, nor do I ever plan on getting any, so I'd rather just pay what ever it costs to get the RIGHT service (If you do have decent insurance that includes Eyes then Ray Ban has a form you fill out that you submit to your insurance and they'll reimburse you). The exam was very thorough and concise. They also had no issue with taking my old New Wayfarers as the frames. I purchased a pair of Original Wayfarers (they are thicker and better suited as Sunglasses IMO) to replace my New Wayfarers (which are now my eye glasses). So far so good (I'll update if anything changes). I felt inclined to write up a review about Ray Ban since I don't think many people know they that have their own optometrist IMO Ray Ban's frames and styles are some of the best on the Planet minus the hefty price tag of Dolce and Gabanna or Gucci frame. Job Well done Ray Ban, keep up the good work. read more

I bought a pair of Ray Bans and broke out in a rash from them. I wear Maui Jim's and prescription sunglasses every day and even wore dollar store glasses and this never happened. I just spoke with management and they will not allow me to return my glasses. I had a pair of Maui Jim's that were not able to be repaired. They sent me a half off coupon, which spoke volumes about Maui Jim. The management was rude to me and I will never wear Ray Bans again. I will stick with Maui Jim. read more

I recently got an eye exam here and eyeglasses..(and sunglasses!). The eye doctor was very professional and very knowledgeable. She gave me a great exam with very modern equipment. She helped me figure out what I needed and got progressive glasses. She let me see what they would feel like and explained the process. I called the store a few days later and told them I was struggling with my vision and they expedited the glasses. Ray Ban had a great selection and the lenses are perfect. The customer service here is fantastic. Everyone is lovely, patient and knowledgeable. My eyes are sensitive to light and I kept trying multiple pairs and no matter how long I'll keep a rep, they help with understanding - especially when I'm undecided. In addition to the fact that they would not honor their own return policy, the attitude and lack of customer service was jarring. Two months ago I bought a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses and last week the screw and top bolt on one of the lenses came lose and I lost them, I called ray ban and they advised me to go to the NY store, which I did today 08/25 and one of the ladies working there simply told me "we don't carry any parts" with that said she handed me a business card with a phone number to call so I can order the parts myself. The fact that she didn't even try to help or try to fix the sunglasses until I got the part needed to me is just absurd, this is the OFFICIAL RAY BAN STORE and they don't have a replacement screw ?! I followed by going to a sears optical store and the person working there helped me free of charge by putting a temporary screw until Monday that's when the ray ban customer service opens so I can order the part I need. Shame on you Ray Ban for not helping your customers. Good customer service shouldn't be just when you are selling glasses. read more
