Great place to get some good food. The chicken cutlet is out of this world. Not so busy. but I feel like no one knows about this place

We ordered dinner for the family and tried several dishes so we could sample a bit of everything…read more There were a couple bright spots (the onion rings and ranch were excellent), but overall the meal fell short of expectations. Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich - This was the biggest disappointment. The chicken breast was extremely thick and had a grainy texture that made me wonder if it was chicken breast with rib meat. If that's the case, it gives the impression that quality isn't a priority. The breading also fell off with almost every bite, and the sandwich wasn't well proportioned (one oversized tomato slice that wasn't cut evenly). Most importantly, it didn't taste like Nashville hot at all -- more like "Nashville not." Shrimp Po' Boy - Below average. The shrimp had a slightly fishy taste, and the bread didn't resemble proper po' boy bread. The greens were a spring mix, which felt like an odd choice. Traditional shredded lettuce would have worked much better. I've had po' boys in Louisiana, and while I wasn't expecting complete authenticity, I was expecting something closer to the spirit of the dish. This version missed the mark. Smash Burger - Probably the best of the three mains we ordered, but still just average. I've honestly had better smash burgers at chains like Shake Shack. Sides: The fries were great. We ordered the beer cheese sauce, which was fine but not necessary. The onion rings were the standout -- perfectly crispy with a clean bite. The homemade ranch served with them was excellent. Overall, I really wanted to like this place more, but the food didn't deliver enough for me to return.

The beer cheese was not the best and the pork roll a bit too chunky didn't make a perfect bite. As always they rock the chicken sandwiches out of the park. Juicy, tender, full breast, breaded and crisp. Flavorful ham and nice honey mustard. Keep it up Coop - we will keep coming back and trying different items.

Anyway if you've ever been here you know there is nothing around the mall but fast food. That's really not what I wanted. I was having so much trouble deciding we just ended up in the food court. You could smell the cheese steaks down the hall and it smelled really good. Good enough to coax me into a closer look. Upon a closer look the two guys running the shop were so friendly I was like yeah I'll do it. Only two guys doing door dash deliveries and live people in the food court. So one guy is taking orders then running back to cook. Then he was apologetic about the wait. I'm like take your time man! They were rocking it out. So then we get our food and it's really excellent. None of it is greasy. I got gourmet fries and a philly chicken cheesesteak. Fries weren't deep fried and greasy. Only complaint- worst ketchup receptacle at any restaurant ever. There is no way to hold it and keep the ketchup inside. Next time I come to a movie here I'll do it again.

Worse, you might decide to just drive on, and miss a straight up very good meal. There are a few small dining areas in the building in addition to a large back kitchen and prepping/cashier zone up front. Attractively utilitarian, all. Room to stand and wait for your order without feeling cramped, as I was doing as my two hot sandwiches were working. These were taken to go, so when I opened the brown bag at home, I found neatly packaged long torpedo sammies (Boardwalk Sweet Sausage, Pepper and Onion/Eggplant Parm) in separate recyclable styro containers. Naturally, the enclosed bread absorbed some condensation so they were no longer dry and a crunchy bite, but were still delicious. Quality Italian sausage complemented well with the sweet and savory sauteed veggies. Eggplant breaded lightly and pan fried in extra virgin before placed in the roll with mozza and tomato sauce on top, and baked in the pizza oven until all melted into a savory layered tasty ensemble. I bought two to share, and everyone was happy, even the next day when reheated. Service was friendly and casual, and prices reminiscent of pre-pandemic days. Pizza looked good, too, but will have to save comments until I return to sample a few.

What I didn't like is the answer she gave me when I asked if it was okay that my family grabbed an open table while I ordered food. She said, "No, you have to order food first. Once your order is placed, then you can look for an empty table". Once a table was secured and cleaned, we waited for our order. Man, it didn't disappoint. We ordered 2 French onion burgers, oh lamb Mediterranean burger, garlic and parmesan fries, and a Philly cheesesteak with grilled onions and bell peppers topped with provolone cheese. Everything was carefully prepared and delicious. I mean the burgers were enjoyed and loved by two tweens. They loved the dip that came on the side and dipped fries and their burgers in it. The Mediterranean burger was spicy and jam packed with seasoning. As for the Philly cheesesteak, Listen!!!!! Get it. The meat was tender, hero was soft (I preferred more of a toast bun) but it was fresh, and the CHEESE stole the show. Why was the cheese so thick and just stringy?! I topped it with Heinz ketchup packets. Yes, you read that right.....packets! Two of 'em did the trick. Would I go back, absolutely! Would I scout a table first, totally!!!! If you're thinking about going to Oh Brother, don't hesitate!

Today, my order was a little underwhelming. I'm used to them cooking the steak through, the meat becoming dark, crispy diced shavings that pair well with the melted Cooper. My order today had a slightly undercooked, grey quality to it that also lacked in a good dash of seasoning, even if only salt & pepper. I believe I got a bit less meat on my sandwich than any other time I've been there too. As I mentioned, I believe I just caught them at a bad time or on a bad day because usually, this is the place to be!

I never watched Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones because every last loser on earth was all about it. The Beatles fucking suck and Bruce Springsteen can go shit in his hat. Pumpkin spice is for pumpkin pie and that's it, no matter what these dizzy suburban women say. So the decision to visit Johnny Longhots today was based entirely on poor reviews. The guy who ordered a sandwich to the hospital and found a cheesesteak to be "greasy" deserves to contract MRSA during his stay. The dope who complained his fries were soggy ordered his shit off Door Dash. He's lucky the driver didn't eat all of his fries. The folks who called out the teenagers who are getting their first experience working can all get bent. You weren't perfect when you had your first job. Don't forget people like you willingly locked kids in their homes during covid. It's no wonder some of them struggle with social skills and working under pressure. Have a little grace, then eat a bag of dicks for not being patient to them. Don't get me started on that dipshit from Brooklyn. That person who rated the place a one for the soda? I already know who you vote for. Onto the food - the menu is huge. There are a ton of choices with something for just about everyone. There's even gluten free options for those fucking people. There were four or five sandwiches in the running, but it was the Gritty Cheesesteak that ultimately won out on my first visit. And that's a strange decision for me because the Flyers stink and their fans are even worse. They're the worst organization in hockey. Maybe I just wanted fries on my sandwich. Yea - that's it. So the Gritty is a good amount of beef, fries tossed in Old Bay and topped with white cheddar cheese sauce atop a seeded roll. I added fried onions. The sandwich scores higher than the Flyers. I was a fan of the seeded roll which was super fresh. The cheese sauce was tasty and complemented the fries really well. They were super crispy, well seasoned and plentiful. The beef wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was tender and cooked well. All-in-all a good sandwich. The gals up front were attentive and friendly. They took my order quickly. Hats off to the kitchen for getting my food out promptly among the online orders. The place was pretty clean and had a ton of Philly Sports pics on the wall. The music on the radio was some throwback stuff - thank God it wasn't any of that mumble rap shit most kids play these days. Johnny's has a bunch of lunch specials that look worthwhile and a decent value. Locally owned spot worth giving your business to. It's a 4-star review from me that gets bumped to a 5 to spite the mopes who gave it a one.
