In from California. Was told about this place as being the best! They did not lie! Cheesesteak was huge! Service was top notch!! Crowded, but found a table to enjoy our lunch.

The staff were very nice and the place was super clean. My husband really enjoys fountain drinks. They sell Pepsi products. It's was one of main reasons we decided to eat here considering we pass four other cheesesteak places. Husband and I shred a cheesesteak, it's was ok. We shared a lime flavored fries. I like it but husband didn't care for it. I had strawberry milkshake that was ok. Then we shared a fries Oreo. I really like that. All in all the food was ok.

Stopped here for lunch with my husband on a recent trip to Philly. He picked the spot based on reviews and area. He knows way more about Philly (and about cheesesteaks!) than I do. We decided to split a sandwich since they tend to be pretty big, and we weren't super hungry. The cheesesteak was good! I love that white American cheese is the standard. You can add peppers and/or mushrooms, but we chose just peppers. I do think as an add-on they could have added more than what they did. I was really amazed by the bread! It can be hard finding a cheesesteak place that actually has substantial enough bread to hold up to the filling, but this bread had no issues! Nice and crusty on the outside, but soft on the inside, and didn't even fall apart a little bit! The meat is what really made it for me. I tend to be super picky with meat; any odd texture totally ruins it for me. The full half sandwich I ate didn't have a single weird textured bite! I don't think that's ever happened before for me! The space isn't super tiny, but there was definitely limited seating. We ordered our food to go, but fortunately there was a solo diner leaving and another table not using all their chairs, so we decided to eat in. It was fun sitting right across from the mural of a bunch of famous Philly people, and trying to name them all! There was only one we weren't sure of, and even after looking him up after have our doubts. One other thing I appreciated was the little bag our to go sandwich came in - it's a great little reusable tote bag that we brought home with us, and I fully intend on using as a lunch bag for work frequently! I'm glad we had this experience while we were in Philly.

Great food and fast service. Very clean with Limited seating. Many varieties of steak sandwiches and fries.

Cheesesteaks were fine, not as good as the other location I went to a few years ago. Truffle fries were very good! Seats were not very comfortable either.

Out of the three cheesesteaks that are on market street this is the best one. The French onion cheesesteak and cheese whiz are good. The service was pretty bad for after a lunch rush on a Friday afternoon. They have some cool murals and good decorations inside. Music was blasting as well so it was hard to order at the front.

The menu is very limited, and if you are not in the mood for fried food, go somewhere else! I was happily surprised by how good the chicken was here, thinly pounded, very flavorful, and crispy. The customer service was also really great here, especially for a fast casual spot.

Pats vs Genos is the stereotypical Philly cheesesteak debate, but Oh Brother should be a part of the conversation. With a location on Market Street in Old City and on Broad Street near Temple, Oh Brother is really making its mark on the Philly cheesesteak scene. Chopped ribeye on seeded bread with your choice of cheese and inclusion of onions. Beyond cheesesteaks, they have a variety of burgers, fries, shakes and bar style appetizers.Their truffle fries are my absolute fave. For the Market Street location, it's fairly large with ample seating. You can order at the counter and the waitstaff will run your food out once's it's ready. They were super helpful in deciding what would be the right fit for our group and honest when it comes to sizing and value.

Let me give you the drop! :-) This place has a system (that I don't necessarily like but works) of standing in line to order food and then wait for a table. The cashier was patient and ensured that my order was correct by asking and repeating back the entire order. That...I loved & appreciated! What I didn't like is the answer she gave me when I asked if it was okay that my family grabbed an open table while I ordered food. She said, "No, you have to order food first. Once your order is placed, then you can look for an empty table". Once a table was secured and cleaned, we waited for our order. Man, it didn't disappoint. We ordered 2 French onion burgers, oh lamb Mediterranean burger, garlic and parmesan fries, and a Philly cheesesteak with grilled onions and bell peppers topped with provolone cheese. Everything was carefully prepared and delicious. I mean the burgers were enjoyed and loved by two tweens. They loved the dip that came on the side and dipped fries and their burgers in it. The Mediterranean burger was spicy and jam packed with seasoning. As for the Philly cheesesteak, Listen!!!!! Get it. The meat was tender, hero was soft (I preferred more of a toast bun) but it was fresh, and the CHEESE stole the show. Why was the cheese so thick and just stringy?! I topped it with Heinz ketchup packets. Yes, you read that right.....packets! Two of 'em did the trick. Would I go back, absolutely! Would I scout a table first, totally!!!! If you're thinking about going to Oh Brother, don't hesitate!

I stopped by Oh Brother Philly while in town for the Norfolk State vs. Delaware State football game at Lincoln Financial Field and decided to grab a cheesesteak and fries. Honestly, I really enjoyed it. The cheesesteak was nice and cheesy, and the fries were just as solid. Was it the best cheesesteak I've ever had? Maybe not, but it was still quite delicious and definitely hit the spot. After my meal, I recommended it to my friends who came by later, and they enjoyed it too. Always a good sign when your food suggestion lands well. The place has a nice, casual vibe and I was able to get my food pretty quickly. I can't quite put my finger on why it's not a perfect 5 for me. If I knew how to give it a 4.5-stars, I would certainly do so. All in all I'd happily recommend this place to anyone visiting Philly or craving a solid cheesesteak in the area.

Delicious food and pretty quick service. We got there around noon on a Saturday and the line was short. It got busier the longer we stayed. Decent amount of indoor seating and some outdoor seating too. Free refills on soda and seltzer!

Big portions, tasty ribeye, and all the sweet or spicy peppers you can dream of. Their fries are also really good, each one the right amount of crispy.

Stopped in while doing some historical site visits. We were looking for options for a larger group and this fit the bill. Both my oldest and myself opted for the Truffle Cheesesteak. It was huge and delicious!!! Lots of great flavors that all went together. My youngest did the chicken tenders and fries. She liked the tenders and fries. The fries were extra crispy. They were good, but I am not an extra crispy fry fan. The location is clean and decorated with some Philly items on the wall. Seating can be at a premium, but tables do rotate out since the food is served pretty quickly. All of the staff was friendly and helpful with ordering and delivering food to the table.

The Love is better. The space is beautiful, the service is consistently warm, and Stephen Starr's fingerprints are all over it. I love the painted white brick, the floral artwork along the walls, the street-level energy, and the outdoor seating. I also remember taking the elevator upstairs once. I can't remember whether we actually stayed and ate up there or asked to move back downstairs, but the space was charming and extremely private. It would be a great setting for a group dinner or event. Personally, I prefer downstairs. It's darker, livelier, and I like being at street level. The menu historically leaned more heavily into elevated Southern comfort food, which has never been my favorite style of cooking. That's probably why I've tended to prefer The Love for lunch over dinner, especially when Philadelphia has so many Starr restaurants competing for the same night out. I used to get what I remember as a salmon and farro bowl, although the menu appears to have evolved since then. Whatever the exact iteration was, I loved it. Fish and farro are both right in my wheelhouse. I've also enjoyed the kale salad and other lighter dishes. The thing I remember most vividly, though, is the cornbread. It is outrageously good and reason enough to order something for the table. I also give Starr credit for continuing to broaden the range of food styles in his portfolio. Once you've built restaurants across Italian, French, Mexican, English, steakhouses, seafood, and the rest, there are only so many obvious boxes left to check. The Love feels like its own lane: distinctly American, approachable, comfort-driven, and still polished enough to feel like a Starr restaurant. Looking at the menu now, it seems broader than I remember, with more options that appeal to me, and I'd be psyched to go back. The Love probably isn't the first Starr restaurant I'd choose purely based on cuisine, but that says more about the depth of his Philadelphia portfolio than it does about this restaurant. The room, hospitality, location, and execution are all excellent. I'd happily come here any day. Starr doesn't miss.
