Needed an immediate replacement of my kitchen faucet, something that in years gone by I would have done myself. But with age and arthritis, getting on my back and then reaching above my head to work on the thing was a problem. Of less urgency, the operating lever was broken on the water supply shutoff valve assembly to my clothes washer. Connor, along with another tech, were here earlier than dispatch promised. They were both very polite. Two months ago I'd gotten some verbal (non-binding) estimates on the washer machine shutoff from independent plumbers. I have decided to revise my review which I believe will be of interest to anyone looking for a plumber. When the RTP technician was at my house, he didn't make it clear what work he was or wasn't going to do. I asked him to install the fill valve that I provided, at no time was there any verbal communication that he wouldn't. He handed me the iPad to explain coupon price, cash price, debit card price and never explained that he was about to replace everything in the toilet, not just the valve - although I told him the toilet & entire bathroom are new! He also went out to the truck to discuss my estimate with the office, when he came back with the estimate of $1,000 plus tax to replace the fill valve and a small faucet I told him that was way too much. He went back out to the truck again to speak to the office and I was told they would take $100 off but that's it. I told him not acceptable. Do the toilet since it was emergency but I couldn't justify spending $600+ on a small sink faucet for install only, (I was providing the faucet). It is my opinion that RTP prices are too high and at best their business practices of offering different random coupons and returning back to the truck twice is odd. Customers should be offered best price as a standard. Also - I'm adding the RTP - office into my review. I was contacted by Meghan, (she called multiple times cell/home and text within a couple of hours - I called back the same day), to say that I owed RTP a "chance to make it right" because I am a past customer?? Let me be clear, this is a business transaction. I owe RTP absolutely nothing except to pay for service. If anything RTP should've taken into consideration that I was a past customer and didn't. When Meghan the service manager called me, she started arguing and debating me the customer who feels wronged? She was unprofessional and really crossed the line telling me "Ray is so upset over your review"?? If Ray is so upset, he should change his prices and business practices! Instead, they tried to turn this into - the technician did what he wanted because he's the professional?? It was unprofessional to not let me know what exactly he was doing?? Then she tried to say they didn't know why what the technician did was a reflection of RTP?? He works for RTP. To add insult to injury, they then offered me $200 to delete my review, (Which I did not accept)! They actually pressured and guilted me into deleting my review!! There is no "making it right", I wouldn't trust RTP in my house again - another company installed the faucet for $150, not the $600+ quoted by RTP - and after the behavior of the office - calling, texting and demanding that I drop everything immediately to speak to a them when I feel wronged?? I will never use RTP again and wouldn't recommend. Better customer service skills and communication skills needed. Last Saturday, September 6th, I had a plumber from Ray the Plumber pay a visit to repair a leak in the copper pipe in my kitchen ceiling, where he wrote up a quote: $785.70 ($699.00 work, $61.25 tax, $24.50 credit card fee), and proceeded to fix the leak; blow torch, solder, cutter. In Levittown, the Main Water Line is on the front lawn,, ten feet from the house, a 2' X 18", 3 feet deep hole, which must be unscrewed to access it, which is what the plumber did to turn off the water. BAD NEWS: after he fixed the leak, he left the job and forget to cover the Main Water Line for FIVE DAYS, until Wednesday, September 10th, when I mowed the lawn, and almost FELL IN! (I replaced the cover.) Not only did he leave the the cap off the Man Line, he left two wrenches and a 5' long pipe, used to close the water line. By the Grace of God, no one, especially my friend, (who's watching my house), his soccer star son and his friends, who play soccer on the front lawn, and his wife and dog, from falling into the open hole! Tragedy, such as a broken neck, would have occurred had someone fall in the open, three foot deep, hole. Although the plumber's work was good, his negligence nearly caused a major tragedy. Absolute scam of a place. Had a clog and drain flies in the same bathroom sink so I called to rectify the issue. I was told there would be a $75 fee just for them to come out but would be taken out if I use their service, not a big deal. So a plumber comes with an apprentice. They go upstairs to the sink and says they'll unclog it and the flies should be because of the clog. About 15mins passes and he says he's finished and that he snaked the drain and ran water for about 5min to make sure the clogs fixed. I said okay but what if the flies and clog come back and he said there's a month warranty. That cost $300 for a snake. So a week goes by and there's still flies. I called about 2 weeks later to setup another appointment and the receptionist said that I ll have to pay another service fee but it'll be waived if they have to do work. I said I thought there was a warranty. The woman says the warranty is for the clog and not the flies....... I said that doesn't make sense because I called about both. So she goes I ll waive the service fee to have someone look at it. I live within 5min of this place also so it's not like they're braking the bank on gas. The plumber shows up and said it's going to be another $250 to fix the issue. I said no way should I be paying that. Over $500 for a clogged sink and to get rid of sink flies is absurd. I Schedule an appointment with this company and took the day off from work to have the work done. Day of appointment I got a call in morning stating not sure if they will get to me they have a lot of emergency calls( more $$) They will go their best to get to me. Later I called to reschedule appointment rather than sitting around waiting for them not to come. Reschedule for a couple of days later for a 2pm to 5pm slot. 2 pm I get a call stating the plumber is on his way. Fast forward to 2 hours later another call stating they have another emergency and they will get there sometime tonight. 8:20 pm I get a text a plumber is on their way. I took a full day off for appointment #1 and left work early for appointment #2. Both of which the company could care less about. I still have unresolved plumbing issues. Given the entire name, once associated with a political stance, I wanted to like this place because it was funny to me. But, that is not the case and it was not funny. We had a stuck brass vintage-looking gooseneck faucet that needed replacing the O ring. The faucet cost us more than $1000 16 years ago and was of solid brass. Mind you my husband called another plumber, although I told him not to but to fix it himself. That plumber said, "Throw it out." My husband, knowing me, called Ray the Plumber. My husband told him the issue. They sent a young kid, to me, that was probably in short pants when I bought the faucet. He charged us $75 for coming and then fidgeted with the faucet. He said I can't fix this replace it. I told my husband "get your checkbook out if we are going to replace this faucet. He went back to the original plan I suggested and soaked the faucet in Blaster Penetrating Catalyst overnight which unstuck the faucet. He replaced the O ring saving us more than $1000 in today's market. My point is that it would have been better not to come rather than to come and in 15 minutes say throw it out and give me $75! My appointment for a leaking tub faucet was originally scheduled with a window of 11:00 - 1:30. As of 2:30 the technician hadn't arrived and I had to reschedule for the following day. When the technician arrived the next day he quoted me about $545.00 to inspect/replace the tub faucet and do a water leak test. This company doesn't provide itemized receipts so I don't know how much I paid for the new tub faucet. The technician didn't have the new faucet with him even though I described the issue in great detail when making the appointment. So I had to sit around for more than 1 hour waiting for someone to deliver a simple tub faucet and the water test involved turning on the shower and observing for leaks. read more

Called them on a Saturday morning to get a quote for repairing 2 shower drains with 2 separate issues. Not only did they have someone here within hours, but by 4pm both projects were completed. Mike and his colleague were incredibly friendly, explained everything in depth and made sure we knew what was going on at all times. As far as price goes, they were right on par with another local plumber that gave us a quote. However, one thing set them apart which I really appreciated... as many plumbers do, they charge a fee for the service call where they come out and diagnose the issue. But if you decide to use Ray the Plumber, that service charge gets credited back to you and gets applied to your final bill. Other plumbers charge you a service fee whether you use them or not, and it stays incremental... which kinda sucks. WARNING ABOUT THE COMPANY "RAY THE PLUMBER" I called this company as we had used them before and thought them pretty good although not the cheapest. Plus they were running a promo: buy a coupon for $100 and get $200 worth of service; good deal, right? The deal expired the next day so I called the night before the expiration date to buy the coupon and book an appointment, which they gave me for the following day. All good; I was impressed! But then early the morning of the appointment they called to let me know the coupon was only good for a FUTURE appointment, not the immediate one. I was shocked because there was NO NOTICE of this restriction ANYWHERE on the promo, nor did they let me know about it when I called to buy the coupon and make the appointment. So when the person who called THE MORNING OF THE APPOINTMENT to confirm told me of the restriction I was stunned into silence. We had cleared our calendars to have the work done that day, it's near Xmas and we are really watching our funds and so we welcomed the chance to save some money. To be hit with this news THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT when there was NO CLUE that the promo was no good for that day, was so disappointing to say the least. I told her "Don't you think you should have written that restriction SOMEWHERE on the coupon or promo? Or at least shouldn't the person with whom I spoke the day before have told me about it?????" I certainly wouldn't have gone with them had I known about this limit. This is a follow up to my original review 13 days ago. Since Ray the Plumber never contacted me regarding the horrible and unprofessional way I was treated, I engaged another plumber to fix the problem RtheP FAILED to fix. Turns out, the bowl was not properly snaked. As I had informed him, a small make up compact was probably lodged in the toilet trap. Sure enough, it was right at the start of the trap and with proper snaking, would have been freed to remove. Rather than mess with this toilet further I had a new one installed. Had Ray the Plumber honored the word of his workers, he could well have had this additional work. My lesson is to never trust the word of a company unless it is in writing before the work is started. read more

I originally called to have a wax seal replaced, which was quoted at $500, which is insane. when the tech was done "fixing" the seal, the toilet would no longer flush. the toilet was working fine beforehand. they told me I needed to get my cesspool pumped. It also took them 45 minutes to diagnose a very straight forward problem.
