Ordered: Lunch Special - Chicken Kabob (~$9): one skewer of marinated grilled cubes of chicken breast served with saffron basmati rice and garden salad Lunch Special - Koobideh Kabob (~$9): One skewer of mixed ground beef & lamb served with saffron basmati rice and garden salad Diet Coke can (~$2) Aya's take: Hear me out, Rayhoon has the best lunch special deal in the entire area. I was so impressed! Lunch Special runs M-F from 11am-2pm. The portion is solid for the cost and the flavors are unbelievable. Both Kabobs were moist, buttery, and nicely charred. The Saffron Basmati Rice was addictive and the Garden Salad gave the dish a nice, fresh element to it. Since we dined in, we also got fresh bread with their white sauce which is a must! The white sauce tastes even better with the Kabobs so I highly recommend. I'll be back!

I'm so sad to write this, because we were really excited to try this place. The restaurant is at the end of a strip mall, but it is pleasant enough inside. The host/waiter was welcoming. The three of us ordered Hummus, Baghali Polo, Beef Soltani, Ghormeh Sabzi, and Halim. The hummus came with a very nice bread. However, the hummus itself was just ok. It seemed very under seasoned. Like you just puréed chickpeas and didn't add anything else. The Baghali Polo was not great. I love dill, so that wasn't the problem. All I know is that I didn't want seconds. The Beef Soltani was fine. The Koobideh was tasty, but the tenderloin was lacking in flavor and was tough. The saffron rice that came with it was good, but the grilled tomato was terrible. It was a whole plum tomato that must have spent thirty seconds on the grill. The Ghormeh Sabzi was just ok (are you sensing a trend). There were only four small chunks of lamb, which were tasty. But the sauce just didn't do it for us. Basically, I was just eating it because it was there. The Halim was good, it just wasn't what we were expecting but that is our own ignorance. I expected it to be more savory with bigger pieces of meat. This was the favorite dish of the other two diners. I also had home made iced tea which was not good. It was really cloudy and had an off putting taste. The best item was the homemade saffron ice cream. This was excellent. Great flavor and texture. Unfortunately, the rice pudding was terrible. I have had Persian cuisine before and have really enjoyed it. I have even cooked some dishes from this region. I have dried Iranian limes in my pantry. This restaurant just left us cold.

Rayhoon Persian Kabob House is a small restaurant. The dining area is long and narrow with an outside eating area. As I was seated I could see a women in the adjacent room cooking. The host, a man, also serves as the waiter. Despite the lack of help, the food came out in a short period of time. I ordered the Chenjeh Kabob ($11.95), I love Near Eastern flavors and my meal was very tasty and cooked exceptionally well. The dish came with Saffron Basmati rice, a fresh garden salad, a whole grilled tomato and noon barberi bread served with butter. White sauce enriched the two large skewers of lamb kabobs. Everything came out in a timely manner and hot. The only complaint would be with the tea I ordered ($2.75). It simple was not flavorable enough for me. They have lunch specials from Monday till Friday (11am-3pm). A large parking area makes it convenient to get in and out.

Small place at the end of a strip mall that is nicely decorated inside. We had Kashk as an appetizer and Koobideh Kabob plates for lunch. The Kashk was warm and flavorful served with a delicious warm crunchy bread. The Koobideh on our lunch plates was flavorful, succulent and juicy. Maybe the best I've had and not all dry like many other restaurants. It was served with a generous portion of tasty rice and a generous fresh salad with dressing on the side and a grilled half tomato piping hot.

This place has great food consistently. It's full of flavor and fresh. The service is friendly and fast. The ambiance is nice in the restaurant with great Persian music.

Very friendly staff, good food, nice atmosphere. They have a very good menu with plenty of options. I would definitely recommend Rayhoons if you enjoy this type of food. I plan on going back to try more on the menu.

It's a small, family run place with excellent food. We started off by ordering appetizers of Hummus and kashk-e-bademjan (puréed eggplant) served with pita. Both were very good! This is a BYOB, so the wine was perfect with this. For entrees, my wife and I both ordered Kabob-e-barg, which was marinated pieces of filet mignon, served with Basmati rice. My wife also ordered a small salad. The rice was amazing! I really enjoyed that and the salad which we split. We had to order the homemade baklava for dessert...great way to top off the meal! Morristown has so many great restaurant options. Every time we come here we always say that we should come here more often. With parking garages, it's always easy to come here, park, and walk around the town. If you're coming here, Marjan is a good choice for a delicious meal.

Menu is Mediterranean. Tried one of the dips which was generous portion and great!! The pita- like bread was so fresh- tasted like home- made. Husband loved his dish ( I agree- had a taste) and my dish was wonderful also. It was a nice melange of onions, peppers, eggplant & zucchini. The puree was also very good. Prob the best swordfish I've ever had at a restaurant - nicely seasoned and not dried out. We didn't really check out desserts because we were too full. Soft drinks were available and it's BYO. Service also met our expectations. So glad we discovered Mezza because we already talked about going back!

Servers seemed disengaged, chatting among themselves instead of attending to tables promptly. When we asked questions about dishes during our last visit, the response was a curt "whatever it says on the menu," which felt unhelpful and dismissive. The food is still decent, but the unpleasant atmosphere makes dining there less enjoyable now. I hope management addresses this situation. Perhaps training could help, regardless of any broader challenges with workers. Frequent patrons like me notice the decline and hope it can be corrected.

There was no waitstaff or bus staff. The owner was the chef/waiter. We figured - what could be better! The decor looked very homey and inviting. Even though at the time we first stepped into the restaurant we were their sole customers, we felt ignored. We sat ourselves down and were not greeted or offered water until after several minutes. There was no bread offered. Maybe since their sign says "gluten free"? I guess no gluten free bread either? Persian cuisine is known for their delicious home baked bread and customarily given to patrons as appetizers and/or on the side when you order kebabs/stew. There was none. So we ordered the olive appetizer. It was actually frozen and my teeth sank into clumps of ice. I also asked to confirm whether or not their wild salmon was actually wild as written on their menu and the owner said "of course". Sadly it didn't appear or taste wild; the cubed cut meat was thick, fleshy and peachy pink. Definitely not sockeye/wild. Had we known it was farm raised, we would've ordered a different dish. The doogh yogurt drink was very watery and lacked any flavor or substance. Usually when I order this drink in other restaurants I would gulp it down like nothing and ask for seconds. I took a sip of their doogh and drank it sparingly out of obligation, not pleasure. As hopeful as we were to make this a regular stop, unfortunately that was our first and will be our last visit.
