It was my first time ever doing anything like this. Normally I'm very picky with seafood and complicated ways to eat food usually sends me. But this was sooooo good. None of the food was "fishy" all of it tasted amazing. Definitely suggest getting the option with all of the spices. The flavor was crazy. Really had such a fun time. Highly suggest going with a group of friends because it makes it that much more entertaining. Loved how the wall was covered in signatures. Super affordable for the type and amount of food you're getting. A decent amount of other options too if someone in your party isn't a seafood person. 10/10 I want to go back so bad

My husband, who's…read morenot a fan, finally got tired of hearing the same answer every time he asked what I wanted to eat. So off we went to Tasty Crab House. We were seated immediately, which was a great start. They serve Pepsi products, beer, and wine--no cocktails or hard liquor, so just a heads-up if that's your thing. The place has a casual seaside harbor vibe, with wood plank walls covered in sharpie graffiti. Nothing's off-limits; guests are encouraged to leave their mark. Our server, Kristy, was fantastic--patient, friendly, and really knowledgeable. She walked us through the menu and made sure all of our modifications (no corn or potatoes) were taken care of without any issue. I went with two snow crab clusters and half a pound of shrimp, tossed in a mix of all their house flavors. My husband chose the lobster tail and shrimp in butter garlic sauce. We both got a side of coleslaw. Our food came out fast--maybe in under ten minutes--and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Everything was cooked just right. The crab legs cracked open easily, the shrimp were tender, and the sauce? A buttery, garlicky Cajun dream--I could've honestly sipped it. This place definitely satisfied the craving, and I'll be back the next time it hits. Honestly, I might not even wait for my husband to tag along next time.

We haven't been here in a while so I was glad to see this place hoppin' on a Saturday night. Luckily the wait wasn't long, less than 10 min. As we are now into the months with an "R" in the name, I was sooo psyched that IPSWICH WHOLE BELLY CLAMS are back! They are only in season during the colder months and aren't usually found in restaurants around these parts, but Gilligan's has them on the menu so I always impatiently wait for them to be available. They are gently fried and were fresh and plump, as were the mussels I also had this evening. I went for my usual LOBSTER FOR ONE which rests atop a mound of mussels & clams, while my family ordered fish dishes topped with other seafood, and all were delicious and fresh. The Maine lobster was cooked perfectly and very tender. Fluffy, crusty, freshly baked warm bread is always served at the table. Read my previous review for more details as it was pretty thorough, but worth mentioning again that they have a large and diverse menu so the seafood-averse can also feast on brick oven pizza, pasta, steak & ribs, chicken, salads, burgers & sandwiches. But the seafood is the highlight and what I come here for. We also pick up their excellent and bountiful Tuesday carry-out specials on a regular basis and it literally feeds my family for days. What's more, prices are still very reasonable even after all these years! Staff are nice and accommodating. We always love it here.

We went for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how attentive the service was. The setting alone is quiet, scenic, and relaxing, adding to the experience feeling special. We're particular about cocktails, and the specialty drinks leaned a bit sweet and light for our taste, but switching to a Grey Goose martini solved that quickly. The standout of the meal was the special appetizer, the Lobster Escargot. Between the bread service and the rich, bisque-like sauce layered over the classic preparation, I could have happily ended the meal right there. We left no trace behind. I followed with the crab cake and wedge salad. The crab cake was generously sized, very fresh, and exactly what I hoped for. My husband ordered the branzino, which was absolute perfection, beautifully cooked and full of flavor. The sides, however, were less memorable; the smashed potatoes and green beans felt under-seasoned and a bit boring compared to the rest of the meal. Overall, it was a lovely anniversary lunch with memorable dishes and a beautiful view.

For us, the "star" dish is shrimp and grits, in large part because these folks know how to prepare cheesy grits. They are cooked just right, not dry, not runny, very flavorful, and supporting a bed of big, yummy fried shrimp with a sprinkling of spinach on top. An excellent dish! But, so are the fish and chips, the French fries (they cook 'em crispy they way we prefer), and ... well, we haven't been disappointed at all. The young servers are friendly, the bar offers up some good, sweet treats, and the seating is under a well-protected tent outdoors and indoors since they are now a year-round operation. We think the prices are fair given the quality of food and the overall dining experience, which we'd label casual, or perhaps informal. Please note the parking area can get very crowded especially on weekends, so be prepared.

Truly, their fried options are the best options on the menu and that shouldn't be the case. Their cocktails are not consistent, but when they're made well, they are great. The food is expensive for what you get, for instance, 1 small cod fillet for fish and chips. As I write, the more I realize perhaps it's a solid 3.5 stars. For an outdoor dining establishment in the summer, it hits the spot.

It isn't huge inside but they use the space so wisely. The kitchen is open to the bar so you can see and hear all the amazing things happening back there which really adds to the local neighborhood vibe. The bartenders there are very sweet and attentive, they help bring the whole experience there to 5 stars. I came on a Wednesday for the $17.99 lobster roll special and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. It is a quarter pound of lobster and you get actual lumps of claw and meat rather than the shredded stuff some other places serve. The butter it's sautéed in is seasoned delicately to accentuate the fresh lobster instead of covering up the taste. The portion was surprisingly large and it comes on a fresh bun that is lightly buttered and toasted. It even comes with a little cup of extra butter which I totally slathered on because I love butter! Every bite was so fresh and soft. The roll comes with fries and I did the optional $5 upcharge for the lobster bisque. That was also the best I've ever had because I've never seen bisque with such large chunks of lobster in it. It was just crazy good. Everything was well worth the price and I'd honestly come back even on days when it's not a special. They have something going on every night like the $9.99 burger and fries on Mondays, so that will definitely be my next reason to visit. I will be back for sure!
