Food quality/price (value) rating 9. The atmosphere is roadside attraction with cornhole, live entertainment, and a visit to your childhood. The menu is seafood oriented,bl but with an amazing number of old school favorites like Lobster Rolls and Jerk Chicken. I had a Connecticut Style Lobster Roll (hot with butter) that had a generous amount of lobster and included one of my favorite things..... homemade potato chips that were excellent and freshly made. The wife had a selection of olives as an appetizer. This venue is a happening l experience during the Summer months with an abundance of outdoor seating and some interesting play areas for kids of all ages. Our visit was highlighted by our servers, bartender Bella and waitperson Caitlyn, who helped keep the party going with their upbeat attitudes and attention to customer service. Our first of many visits was wonderful and we'll certainly be back.

    Me eating the salmon!

We heard west shore seafood is now open throughout the winter so we had to test them to see if it was going to be our go to when it gets cold! 10/10 on the salmon filet however I would recommend they don't put the freshly cooked filet on the bed of lettuce that they call Cesar salad, what do I know tho I'm just a cat. The clam chowder bowl was superb even tho I just smelled it and focused on as much salmon as my little belly can hold. My owner had the spicy chicken sandwich which was good cause he shared a lot of the salmon! He seemed to like it he ate 3/4 of it which was good for him!

We've had mixed experiences at West Shore Seafood (WSS) this past season. WSS has quite a few positives: the location is a lovely, cozy-quirky seafood-shack, with picnic tables under a large tent, decorative vines, outside tables and plenty of room for kids to run around. Their staff are always upbeat and friendly. We reliably buy their salads, and the Nicoise and Caesar salads have been excellent. Fish sandwiches, clubs, and tacos have been tasty, but portions and quality seem inconsistent. One evening, the "warm" lobster roll was ice cold, and my partner's ahi tuna taco contained a small, substandard piece of tuna. Another time, Cajun fish was much too salty. They've also implemented changes to their restaurant, including a full-service bar, but we're not convinced they work. Overall, portions are smaller, prices are higher, and stopping the BYOB option for beverages can make for an expensive evening. As a long time customer, I hope they bring back the BYOB option.

    3 inch lobster roll

I hate leaving bad reviews of any place but this is egregious. I ordered a lobster roll, small lemonade and left 10% tip on a to-go order. $31. The lobster roll was roughly 3 inches long and finished easy in 3 bites. Even if this was an appetizer the size would be unacceptable. Lobster is expensive- I get it. If it's too expensive to serve enough lobster to someone that qualifies as a meal, don't serve it. It didn't even come with chips or fries. A 2 inch plastic cup of coleslaw. The 3 bites I had over my 15 second eating experience were good and that's the only reason I left 1 star. A Connecticut lobster roll is traditionally served on a split hotdog roll. This was on the worlds smallest hotdog roll.

    Seared tuna deliciousness

Wow. Deliciousness. I was here a few days ago at the beginning of this week. The sushi grade tuna over seaweed app was delightful. Flavor profile was amazing. Crabcakes were good but not outstanding like the tuna was. I even got my mother to try the tuna which she loved also. Clam strips entree was also very good. Sorry to say the clam chowder (even though made from scratch) was light in flavor (almost none). Kind of thin for new England clam chowder. The shrimp cocktail were also outstanding. Crisp. Fresh. Nice snap when you but into them. Crabcakes were a good size though for the app. Was looking for some lump meat though which wasn't there. Although very good flavor and fresh. They get seafood deliveries daily. Seeing outside in an enclosed sort of catering tent. Bright and nice view of the meadow. Very friendly warm outgoing service of the woman in the window taking the orders. Prices are on the verge of price but still in the means and well worth the quality they serve you. Can't wait to come back to try something different. Very well done.

Delicious!! Nicely buttered roll with so much lobster you have to eat some of it before you can even pick this roll up. And not just claws like some places this was all solid lobster meat. $30 with fries- wish we remembered to opt for the onion straws (next time). Lobster was tender and flavorful with not an over abundant amount of mayo just the tiniest bit to hold everything together and it was tender, flavorful, and overall delicious. Arnold Palmer wasn't powdered lemonade either, it was perfectly fresh and not overly sweet. Then shop at the Amazing food co-op next door. Looking forward to our next trip here. We walked up to a casual outdoor seating area with picnic tables set alongside the road, giving it the laid back atmosphere of a New England seafood shack where the focus is entirely on generous portions and classic seafood favorites rather than anything overly polished. The setup is simple and relaxed, making it an easy stop for a casual lunch or dinner during the warmer months. The lobster roll is the clear highlight here. The portion was surprisingly large for the price, packed generously and substantial enough to feel like a full meal on its own. The lobster was the star of the sandwich, and the overall value stood out given how expensive lobster rolls have become across Massachusetts. We also ordered the fish and chips, which came with an equally generous portion size, though the fish was a little drier than expected. While it was still satisfying, it lacked some of the moisture and flakiness that would have made it more memorable. What stands out most is the portion to price ratio. Nearly everything coming out of the kitchen is oversized, which helps explain why the restaurant has built such a strong reputation as a destination for seafood in the area. The food leans toward hearty and filling rather than refined, and the experience works best when you arrive hungry and ready for a substantial meal. Service moved efficiently despite the steady crowds, and the casual outdoor setting kept the experience relaxed. For anyone looking for a classic roadside seafood stop in Western Massachusetts, Captain Jack's delivers generous portions, solid seafood, and a lobster roll that easily justifies the visit.

It remains a small, independently owned store with a surprisingly full stock, lots of fresh meats, deli items, produce, a large beer cooler with all the local and foreign brands you night desire, and a very friendly and helpful staff. We're especially fond of the nice folks behind the deli counter. Our complaints are about the same: the prices hover on the high side. The prices are generally quite a bit higher than the nearby Stop and Shop, but honestly, the quality of their locally produced items is far higher. Still, if you're buying some basics like soup or milk, you'll pay more here, and some prices can be really way up there. Sometimes we're frustrated by that, other times we're grateful to find some delicious fresh fish or prepared salads. Bantam is not our first market of choice, but we're here regularly for some things we like and want.

But if you're looking for unique food items, this is your place. For me, I stop in often just to pick up some fried chicken from the deli, it's the best around -- juicy & meaty, but not greasy, and the coating is very tasty. $6.99 a pound. That fried chicken is 5 Stars every time. Friendly crew, but the checkout can be a bit of a process though, the place does a brisk business, and the parking lot is always full.

The dinner menu was atypical, featuring an eclectic fusion of dishes executed with lots of creative flair. Flavor, quality and freshness of ingredients were top notch. Our starter, Garlic Maple Whiskey Chicken Bites, came accompanied with grilled shishito peppers. Perfect for sharing and so lovely paired with a glass of prosecco. Next, we sampled Bouillabaisse and Miso Roasted Black Cod in dashi broth. Seafood for both mains were super fresh. The Bouillabaisse broth was remarkably flavorful, the hint of saffron ever present but not overwhelming. How nice to have the red pepper rouille and slices of bread (customary in France) served alongside for the authentic experience. Miso Roasted Black Cod was tasty, succulent and fork tender. Beautifully arranged with mushrooms and Brussels sprouts surrounding the fish, plus a delectable piece of polenta cake tucked underneath. Dashi broth was poured onto dish tableside, creating a warm umami rich dish that was not only delicious but also extremely satisfying. On to desserts....The Chocolate Tarte with sea salt, nuts and berry coulis, a picture of understated elegance, was incredibly sublime. The Warm Apple Tartlet à la Mode with vanilla ice cream was good too. Would have preferred a tad less cinnamon though. All things considered, this was an exemplary meal. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. Hope to return again soon.

I came on a Wednesday for the $17.99 lobster roll special and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. It is a quarter pound of lobster and you get actual lumps of claw and meat rather than the shredded stuff some other places serve. The butter it's sautéed in is seasoned delicately to accentuate the fresh lobster instead of covering up the taste. The portion was surprisingly large and it comes on a fresh bun that is lightly buttered and toasted. It even comes with a little cup of extra butter which I totally slathered on because I love butter! Every bite was so fresh and soft. The roll comes with fries and I did the optional $5 upcharge for the lobster bisque. That was also the best I've ever had because I've never seen bisque with such large chunks of lobster in it. It was just crazy good. Everything was well worth the price and I'd honestly come back even on days when it's not a special.
