We have been having problems with our heating/ac We had fixed the ac unit (with our people) and it was working perfectly fine. Raynor recommends maintenance. They came in did maintenance and all of sudden the ac unit is broken and we need to pay 2600 to fix it. I'm not accusing this company of anything but I am genuinely concerned and confused how my ac unit was working and then they did a visit and now nothing works and we need to pay $2600. We were very disappointed with the services received from Raynor Services and would not recommend this company to others. Our main concern was that the technician completing the work came to do a walk through in which we discussed the locations of outlets and lighting, specifically discussing four soffit lights on the exterior. At the end of the walk through, the technician stated that "everything we discussed today will be covered under the original contract." Raynor did not install the soffit lighting and when I brought up the issue they were quick to tell me that it wasn't included on the contract. I wish the company would have honored their word. The company made me feel like I was not the one being honest, which made me feel even more upset. Thankfully, we did not use Raynor for our HVAC services as well. Out of three proposals, their sales agent was the only one that felt the need to invite himself into my home, sit at my dining room table, make me watch several videos, and then expect me to sign a contract on the spot. Today I scheduled a technician to come out to my home for a whole home generator installation. The tech without even looking at my landscape quoted me 18,000 then proceeded to quote me 9,000 for a panel upgrade. I immediately thanked him for coming out and escorted him out of my residence. Mind you, the third company to come out for an estimate. The two others priced the generator installation at 13,500 to 14,800, which is the normal price range. The total interaction time was 4 minutes and he gave an estimate of 27,000. What a joke read more

Raynor showed up at my house today for an HVAC inspection. I didn't book the appointment but thought that maybe my wife did. So I let the tech in and within 10 minutes I was getting the "my whole systems in need of repair"... In the mean time my wife called and said she didn't book an appointment with them. It was totally bizarre. Felt so scammy, I couldn't believe a local company would act this way. So I checked it out and sure enough the company was sold to private equity. Call center is in California and they are over aggressive in trying to get you to commit to system upgrades. Just throwing it out there for everyone so they are aware of who they dealing with. read more

Used them various times over the years and had no issues until this past winter when they came out for a furnace tune up. I was told I had a gas leak and they had to shut the gas off. They also said I needed around $11k in repairs, etc. so it would make sense to get a new system given the age of mine. At minimum, they wanted me to order this part that was responsible for the gas leak that they said was made out of the country and would be hard to get for $1500. Their quote for a new system was $17k in a 1464 sq ft house. They pressured me and were condescending. I declined everything and they turned off the gas and left after a stressful few hours with them. I called PSEG who said there was no gas leak and I did not need any of the things they were recommending. If I wanted to replace the part in question, their cost was $500 and they said it would be cheaper with a smaller company. They also had the part readily available on their truck. But they said there was no need to replace it. I also spoke with another HVAC contractor who quoted me $11k to replace the system. Very disappointing to say the least for a local company. They charged my 80 year old mother $500 to turn an outside switch which restored her power during a shortage. When my mom asked the worker if she could just flick the switch herself since $500 is extremely expensive, the young technician told her she could die from the electricity if not done properly. When I looked at it the next day it was a simple switch that would not have harmed my mother. When I called and told the owner how the worker took advantage of my mother, he said he would have to come out and see it for himself. When he showed up he looked for about 15 seconds and said "well there was a chance she could have gotten hurt". When I told him that was untrue and he ripped my mom off he got aggressive and had to be told to leave to premises. I would NEVER use them again, I wish my mom saw all his negative reviews before choosing them in the first place but hopefully this will save others from this nightmare!! read more

We've have received EXCELLENT work from Raynor every time. Most recently (January 2025) they replaced our very old 200 amp panel, which was a very complicated job due to the existence of our Kohler standby generator which has it's own panel. I worked with Ashley (in the office) who kept the communications flowing in a way that far exceeded the kind of minimal communications one receives from other contractors. We always knew what was going to happen and when it was going to happen. "Rocky" came out to my home to examine the job and returned to do the work along with Steve. These guys did an excellent job installing my very complicated panel. It was incredible to see what they had to do to get the old panel out and the new panel in. They are VERY skilled professionals. My other experiences with Raynor were just as good. They installed my Kohler standby generator along with a transfer switch and and associated electrical panel. It was a huge job done successfully. After that, they did an even bigger job by removing ancient knob and tube wiring from all three stories of our home plus the basement. The electrician was Will and I can tell you that he is a magician at snaking wires and finding the BEST way to minimize damage to walls and ceilings. The job he did was unbelievable. Scammers. They took my money. For context, this is what I sent the customer service department a few weeks ago: I was told that I would be charged for a certification of my electrical panel in my home.  The operator yesterday in the AM took my card number and said I would only be charged if my panel was certified.  The electrician came, who was very helpful and unfortunately could not certify the panel without extensive work to it.   However, I was still charged for the certification which I did not receive.  I called 2 times yesterday, in the afternoon and the evening and was told both times that the manager would help me out with this issue.  However, both times, the manager was in a meeting and I was told they would call me back when finished.  I didn't receive a call. So I called this morning after my bank account released the 481 for my account to ask to be refunded.  I was told by Emily that I was certified.  I furiously told her that I was NOT certified, a technician was only sent over to look everything over.  He told me he could not certify it without extensive work which I had not and now WILL NOT agree to.  Emily then said, having a technician look over the panel was the reason I was charged 481.  This is not what I was previously told.  I am upset and furious over this.  This is not ok.  I want to be refunded my 481 as I didn't receive the service that price entailed read more

Raynor electric does not know how to treat people. All I wanted was an estimate for work at my house. First they said $29 for anyone to come to my house. I then said forget it . They then said forget about the fee. Ok they were going to come on Tuesday and I told them when I won't be home. They didn't like that and said we can come Wednesday and I didn't have any time restrictions. Today is Wednesday and I was waiting and about 2:30 they said we can't come today how about tomorrow. l said forget it and spend another day waiting for them for an estimate that would take 15 minutes. This is no way to treat people. This showed me what type of company they are and not for me. read more

It was time to consider a replacement of my 15 year old HVAC system for our home. I called 3 contractors to arrange a meeting with a consultant. The first company to provide me with a convenient date and time was Raynor. I had used Raynor several times in the past for electrical work. The young men who performed those jobs were polite and skilled. So I expected the same level of service for HVAC work. The comfort consultant-- Aaron-- arrived on time and was professional, knowledgeable and patient. He asked questions and listened. After evaluating the needs and my budget, Aaron listed several brands and payment options. Aaron advised that he would email the proposals and would include consumer brochures for my review. Within hours I received the email as promised which was thorough. Based upon my prior experiences with Raynor, I canceled the other appointments and executed the contract. I wish I could give zero stars. Called a week ago for an estimate, they couldnt give a specific morning or afternoon appt for estimate. So I waited til Friday since I work from home. So they had me set up for Friday since Monday. Plenty of notice I had an appt. They texted me the day before to confirm. I once again asked for some kind of window even morning or afternoon. I was told no and given a scripted reply both times I asked. I ended up taking the day off and wanted to also get some errands done. The day of appt.. they texted again that I am on schedule and will get a call 30 min before they arrive. I cannot get errands done in 30 min so I stayed home At 2, I figured they will probably not keep the appt so I did local appts and had my phone close. At about 230 they called me and tell me they have a job that is going to take awhile and can't come down I want Monday or Tuesday. Seriously??? I asked several times for a window, clearly, I was last or close to last on the list. They couldn't say you will be afternoon? Then after scheduling my appt 5 days prior they cancel on me. Oh and the estimate is 29.99 if you don't get work done. I feel like they owe me 29.99 for wasting my day. AVOID THEM!!!! Last year I had to sell my mother's house after she passed away. The township inspector called for several electrical upgrades and repairs. I got an estimate from this company. I held off with posting a review because I didn't deem it worth my time. But I keep getting emails from them after I unsubscribed. So here is my response to their proposal: "I reviewed your proposal for the electrical work. Something I should tell you is that I evaluate contractor proposals for my job. At $3,332.50, I find it difficult to take seriously. I'm trying to figure out how you can justify these prices. If I were buying all of the materials, the 4 indoor GFCI outlets, the one outdoor GFCI, outdoor box and cover, 1 interior junction box and cover, a few wire nuts, and maybe 15-20 cable staples, I would spend under $100 retail. This is going by prices on Lowes.com. So that leaves about $3,230.00 for labor. How much labor did you budget for this? Each indoor GFCI should only take maybe 15 minutes each, so that's an hour for the four of them. Since you're using all new parts for the one outside, let's budget an hour for that. Then you have labeling all the circuits in the breaker box. Some of them are already labeled, but let's say that takes an hour as well. And then re-terminating the neutral in the box...that will probably take you less than 15 minutes, but let's give that an hour as well. Then we have installation of a junction box for the electrical connections for the dishwasher under the sink. I think 30 minutes is a generous amount of time for that. Then let's say there are 15 cable staples to put in. There are maybe 18 feet of cable that need to be secured better. If you take 5 minutes to do each one, which is an absurd amount of time, we get another hour and 15 minutes. So now we're up to 5 hours and 45 minutes. How about we round up to 6 hours to allow time for getting tools in and out of the truck. $3,230.00/6 hours comes to $538.33 an hour. What is the value added that makes your labor worth so much? That is more than five times the union rate for electricians working in Manhattan. I realize you have some office expenses, but how much time is that, realistically? You're only traveling from about 5 miles away, so travel expenses are minimal. And I see you did not include permitting. Would that be extra? I also wanted a price for the dryer outlet. As it is now, I do not see this as an acceptable proposal. If you are willing to break it down by time and materials, I would be willing to look at it again." I sent that to them, but did not get a response. I contacted an electrician in my area that I had used in the past. They were willing to do it since one of their electricians lives in the area. I've used Raynor services several times over the years. I have an old historic house and they do an awesome job navigating projects without having to tear up my plaster walls. I've had mini splits installed, chandeliers hung, new electric in my kitchen and most recently new service and the removal of my old knob and tube wiring. All of their staff is great from the folks who answer the phone, to the electricians who do the work. They come when they say they are coming, they know what they are doing and they care for your house like it was their own. We've been using Raynor Services for over 5 years now since they installed our new HVAC system after a system failure. We also later had them install a new hot water heater a few years later. They are amazing. Always courteous and professional we also use them to do our spring and fall system tune up. They respect your home and any jobs performed they make sure to do a thorough clean up. I typically use higher end professionals for all my needs because I want things done right the first time. Raynor was more expensive than the other quotes we got but seemed to have good customer service etc. Should have gone with any other electrician on the planet! All but one of the recessed lights has been replaced. New company showed me burnt wire and socket on old lights. Said these should never be used in a residential application. When I told them that I had the replacement fan and just needed it installed, they held firm and said the job would still cost $383. I contacted MyElectrician.com. They said they had to charge a diagnostic fee of over $200 but did not tell me this until the electrician was on his way. I found all of this unprofessional. Unfortunately, like most people I work and don't have time to wait all day and then reschedule after a wasted day. Electrician grossly overcharged me. I heard him talking on the phone asking which breakers should go in my panel and telling the person on the phone he used Google to try to find out. He said, "I'm not going to waste my time here because I won't make any money." He tried to sell me something I don't need for another $3000. I had a witness with me and we both felt this was predatory selling. I am upset with the bill from Raynor services regarding replacing the electronics in a water heater which cost me $3200. I could probably have gotten a new water heater for that amount of money. I contacted Raynor to purchase and install a new gas heater, the installer was a joke, left my basement light fixtures hanging by the wires so he can run the gas pipe thru there, used the wrong clamps to secure the electric wires now they are loose, and FAILED the town inspection, the fresh air intake has to come from upstairs and he had it sucking dirt 1 inch from the basement floor. Now they want to charge me more money for parts and labor to run the new ductwork. I didnt want the same installer in my home so I had to pay someone else to install the new ductwork and pass inspection, the best part is i have to pay a maintenance contract for the life of the unit to Raynor so i can activate the heaters warranty, shitty installer work, dont know the town codes, and charges you more money for their mistakes, do yourself a favor, dont let Raynor in your home. read more
