Went we to this Ray's for the $10 bike special and rented several bikes for a couple days. Nearly all the bikes had problems ranging from the seats moving all over the place, handlebars loose and moving all around, and last but not least my sons chain falling off while he was pedaling which resulted in him crashing his bike and scraping himself up. The male workers we dealt with were nice but the female worker definitely needs to work on her customer service skills. Telling customers rudely that it's not your day to do maintenance because your coworker didn't show up isn't really professional. I would not recommend this rays and would take my business elsewhere. read more

Ricardo provided my fiancé and I with TOP Tier service!! Highly recommend North Mission Beach Rays Rentals. We rented 2 hybrid bikes for a 4 day trip in San Diego. We did approx 30 miles of biking total, and the bikes worked perfectly. We accidentally left for the airport without returning our bikes. We left the bikes locked up outside of our AirBnB. We got on the airplane and had a panic attack when we realized we had not returned the bikes. We called Ricardo as soon as we landed, and he was incredibly reassuring and helpful. Fortunately, our AirBNB was very close to the rental location, and Ricardo went to collect the bikes himself. We offered to pay him extra for his efforts, but he refused, and returned the bikes with no hassle. Truly a massive stress relief. read more

Horrible spot. Not only were the bikes super rusty but they were also a piece of junk and the chain kept falling off so I had to go back to get a replacement only for that chain to also fall off. Then they said they'd issue me a refund and it's been a month and still no refund. Avoid these guys at all costs. They'll ruin your day read more

Exactly what I was looking for, a simple bike to ride around the beach and the bay area that won't cost me an arm and a leg. I showed up right at 9:00 AM when they opened. The kid helping me was courteous. He got me set up right away before putting out the bikes, which shows me that he puts customers first. When I told him that I found them through Yelp, and that Yelp provided a coupon for a free basket, he told me that he doesn't know about it, but he happily put a basket on my bike based on my word. They don't know anything about maintaining bikes. Got a flat and had them change it out only for it to pop 2 minutes riding again. They didn't pull out the thorn in the bike so paid $20 for nothing. read more

Beware, this place does not care and only wants your money. They offer you either a lock OR a basket per party, regardless of the amount of bikes you rent. On top of this, when we went to return our bikes, the owner/manager was arguing with a customer who was not happy with the bike they rented that ended up being broken. The owner would not refund him the rest of the week he had rented after having a bad experience with a broken bike on vacation. Very poor customer service read more

No stars is most appropriate for this place; total RIPOFF. Asked for a beach cruiser from today thru Friday night. He said $75 & he would throw in the lock and basket. He also said the bike rental RADDS across the street has about the same price--RADDS had the brand new bike, lock, & basket for $50 till Friday!!! $25 less than across the street. RADDS seemed to be family owned; very nice, honest, & professional. read more

The BEST rental shop on the beach. And def check out their coupons. They have one right now that's like $10 for all day bike rental!!! Prices can't be beat. Rented from them all weekend and they hooked it up. I've used this rental shop in other areas of SD before and I've always been happy, so it's nice to see them in another location.
