This was my first time visiting Razzoo's Cajun Cafe. Stumbled upon it as I was driving past. Needless to say, they did not disappoint. The ambiance is a Cajun/Creole theme with lots of pictures and decor that ties it all together. The restaurant offers outdoor seating with a lake view. The service received was great. Excellent staff that great you at the door and wait on you as well. The food was good, bland, but good. Varies options to choose from with something for everyone. I had the Andouille over Red Beans and Rice, and the Seafood Gumbo, everything tasted great. Morgan our waitress was sweet and welcoming. Only minuses for not being a 5 star review, is that they no longer have the Crawfish appetizer. I was told they didn't have any crawfish but it turned out there is a crawfish basket and a crawfish platter so I was a bit confused as to why I couldn't have a crawfish appetizer. Can someone please tell me why we waited so long? Our last visit to a Razoo's was 20 years ago! We had moved away for a while, but we've been back in the Dallas area since 2021 and in close proximity to this restaurant since late 2023. We have been to tons of restaurants in that area and snoozed on Razoo's. We've gone to Pappadeaux in both Grapevine and Dallas many times to get our "Cajun" fix. Yesterday, on a whim, we decided to change course and go to Razoo's for a late lunch. We had an amazing experience from the greeting (Austin) to the service (Avery). The restaurant was clean with a fun, authentic NOLA energy (New Orleans native here, so I've grown up with that energy). The food was so good, and the variety on the menu was extensive compared to our experience with other Cajun places. The hurricane drink was really good and was strong enough to feel relaxed after one. I was the driver, so I only got a taste. Finally, no New Orleans restaurant menu is complete without bread pudding. Razoo's bread pudding was supreme! We were still talking about it this morning. It won't be 20 years before our next visit! Very nice rendition of traditional Cajun and Creole style Louisiana cooking, which uses heavy spices, such as Cayenne Pepper and Coriander, which are introduced into a traditional roux, or a gravy combining wheat flour heated in a cast iron skillet. Wash the meal down with a Shiner Bock, a nice brown ale from the small town located about mid-way from the city limits of Houston and the state capital, Austin. I remember doing that drive on Spring Break from the University of Houston, when driving alone with Class Mate, David Dean, my friend who preceded me in moving lock, stock and barrel to Christchurch, New Zealand, and to the second largest city in New Zealand, and starting my 2.5 years of teaching management and organizational behavior for Lincoln University, an agricultural college in the Canterbury province on the Mainland, or region. Living amongst the clever people that inhabit the island nation, I enjoyed the blessings of a clean earth mentality and even extending into the domain of nuclear power and weapons ban. Razzoo's was a place I would love to come and enjoy Cajun shrimp and food. The shrimp used to be large and plump. Same basket shrimp I used to come and order is now small and looks like it's rolled thin to make the appearance of the shrimp look like they are large. They look like the bottom of the barrel left overs. Their Hush puppies were hand made, now they are a frozen concoction and deep fried. The basket came with two sides. So I ordered double fries. The portion was small, I questioned the amount to the waiter and he too noticed the amount and got me more. The staff was nice and friendly, the food has definitely changed. I ate at this location...the service was excellent thanks to jay (bartender) and Dalu the Manager. But let's take a moment for the food...I orders grilled Oysters which were over cooked so I had to send them back in exchange for the Oysters on the half shell (raw)...those were also very chewy and I had to throw them away...everything was lovely except the food...I think you all should HIRE ANOTHER COOK! That may explain why the place was empty and stayed empty while I was there...Do yourselves a favor and GET RID OF THE COOK...and I may come back! The food at this place is stellar but the service here is a little frosty. I actually felt unwelcomed with how cold the waitress was. The catfish was cooked amazingly well. The fish was light and flakey while maintaining a crispy exterior. The sauce is a great compliment to the fish as well. The chicken on the Zydeco pasta was moist and well cooked. The stuffed shrimp is so good - my favorite dish here!! This is really good!! Came out to enjoy our Father's Day and it was the worst service and food ever!!! We waited for two hours for our food, when our food finally came half the order was incorrect, just through together which just isn't right!!! Prices are too high to not get what you're paying for! Came here on a Saturday afternoon and got seated right away. We ordered the chicken sandwich, fried steak, and burger - with the fried pickles on the side. I will say I liked the food a lot and the prices are reasonable, but, the items we chose were nothing "special" per se. I think this place would be best for seafood. I've given Razoos good reviews before but not today. The restaurant is not full today, even though it's FatherDay. There are tables for 5 available all over the place. But apparently "Corporate Policy" won't allow pushing tables together. They are losing revenue because of this policy. Restaurants always set up in a flexible manner so that combo tables can be set up. We only have a party of 6. Once we are finally seated, I have noticed that there is a literal pile of chairs in front of the exit. I fully support proper Covid precautions and applaud all those who adhere. Their nonsense corporate policy is being abused. Wish I didn't actually like this place, as it was a family request for a special day. read more

This is our second visit in 2 weeks because crawfish is BACK and this location has one of the best cooks in the metroplex for crawfish. (Rumor has it she has been with Razzoo's for over 20 years) I left a review last week, but I was informed the review didn't populate on Yelp! The service is FANTASTIC here. Last week Kelsee took amazing care of us and this week Alex took up the torch and didn't miss a beat. Clearly management plays a huge part in this. The crawfish was hot and delicious. We went early because it was BOGO tonight. I like my crawfish super spicy - the later you go, the hotter the spice BUT then you risk them running out. I'm a bartender. I ordered a shot of we'll vodka. I got .5 of new Amsterdam for $10 a shot. not worth it. would not recommend not even a standard shot of 1.5oz. The shot glass was half. Then they hit you with the "oh the glass is 2 oz" reguardless it's less than half and shot glass are made with a heavy bottom appear more full and heavy. Based on service alone this place is great. One of the people in my party has allergies and my waitress double and triple checked to keep him safe. My husband suggested Razoos for linch ad I have NEVER been. I was excited for a lunch date to a Cajun restaurant. We were seated in the bar area and our server was the bartender. That was the 1st mistake. We sat long enough to look over the menu several times and for me to take a phone call before the bartender came to take our drink order (10 min at minimum). We then sat another 5-10 min before she came to take our food order. I ordered the shrimp basket and it was supposed to come with sauce. She didn't even ask what sauce I wanted so because it was my 1st time, I thought maybe they just brought you a sauce. It didnt come with any. I asked for cocktail sauce after she asked if we need anything else. My husband finished his meal and I even had finished my drink (without a refill) (20-25min) before getting a "manager" because i never got sauce and food was cold. I use the term "manager" lightly as I don't think she was one. She brought me a to go container and told me I should be able to airfry my fried shrimp. Told her we were seated with bartender serving and she was too busy talking with people at bar to pay attention to our table. I even told her I wasnt paying for my food becauseI didn't even eat it. She said "well I gave you a free appetizer". THat appetizer is $10 cheaper than my meal....i was still refusing to pay for it. She kept making faces and excuses so i said fine you get a bad reveiw. She said "okay" and shrugged shoulders and walked away.... Then the bartender came around and said she was paying for my meal, apologized and started crying saying she has had a rough day. I told her I appreciate her doing that (she shouldn't have to) but as a customer service personnel, you should leave your issues at the door. This was my 1st experience and terrible experience. Diabolical experience . I had to wait outside for 20 minutes just to be lied to and manipulated. My appetizer of wings was rancid and raw. Then waited for my entree just for it not to be Swai .I was told it was swai but it was catfish. I asked for them to correct it. Tell me why the manager came out to not only show his ignorance in customer service but argued me down about what i tasted. I had catfish i do not eat catfish. I was insulted and felt manipulated.
