Came in to the bar area to watch the Mexico game and the bar area was pretty hot. Seems like AC unit wasn't really working. There was only one bartender who was overwhelmed with the amount of guest she had to take care of. Seems like management really dropped the ball on scheduling staff. They probably didn't think they would get the overflow crowd from the place next door. They lost on some business as guest just walked in and waited to be taken care of and no server/bartender or manager ever approached them and they ended up leaving. Maybe next time management can try to schedule staff better as the FIFA World Cup games continue to play out. read more

I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at Razzoo's on Highway 59, and that's disappointing because I usually love Razzoo's. Although there were plenty of empty tables, we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated because they were short-staffed. The server we had was excellent and did the best she could, so no complaints about her service. The real problem was the food. I ordered the boiled crawfish and shrimp, and the broth looked like muddy swamp water and tasted even worse. It was so bad that I actually regurgitated after eating it. I brought the issue to the manager's attention, and the response I received was basically, "Okay." There was little concern shown about the quality of the food or my experience. I was very surprised that the general manager seemed unconcerned as well. As someone who has always enjoyed Razzoo's, this was extremely disappointing. I will not be returning to this location, and I will be sharing my experience with friends and family. I hope they improve their food quality and customer service in the future because this location definitely needs to get it together. read more

Worst experience. Who ever the Hispanic lady is that is the servers manager is a rude person. Don't come at me saying Hispanic because I am. Catfish was bland as was the shrimp. We came early so there's very few people here. The server brought our drinks very quickly. The Strawberry Coconut Sunrise is just my kind of cocktail, sweet. We stopped here for a quick, small lunch and were happy with the meal. Service was friendly and fast. They have some good deals on fried seafood combos, with an option to upgrade the side to some gumbo. All the food I tried was good, not something mindblowingly new, but no complaints on flavor, and the fried seafood was pleasantly crunchy. Razoos has been a favorite of mine until the recent years. They have changed the menus and specials quite a bit...no more happy hour . The service and food are always great. They have a good 12 dollar special that comes with salad or gumbo that rins all day. I got that and my son got the kids shrimp and gator. My mom got her favorite catfish and shrimp. The gator tail: was really good, and paired well with the cocktail sauce Fondue: my friends and I loved it , probably the best appetizer Fried American cat fish: seasoning was light so I added salt and pepper, however the texture was extremely crispy. What surprised me was the beans, which were seasoned very wonderfully Stuff chicken: well seasoned smoked chicken, lots of flavor in the mash potatoes, beans were very good Stuff shrimp: honestly this was our favorite entree, well seasoned shrimp, lots of Cajun flavors coming thru The gumbo: this was the most Lackluster dish, texture and all the ingredients were there but it lacked seasoning. We had better gumbo. I believe that if you didn't want to go far then this would be a good option. The decor was very sports bar like, I can totally come here for game night. The drinks were sweet and good, if you want something a little stronger yet good then the swomp thing was the sneaky drink that still was very yummy. Razzoo's Cajun Cafe definitely knows how to bring the flavor. Every plate we had was swimming in seasoning--in the best possible way. You won't find bland anything here. From the blackened fish to the red beans and rice skillet and even the fried gator bites and fries, the food delivered. That said, the service needs some serious attention. We were seated quickly, but waited too long before anyone even came to the table. The staff (mostly kids) didn't seem confident about the menu--some couldn't even pronounce basic items. We had to ask for everything: ketchup, sugar, salt, utensils... even clean menus. Ours had food on them. So, food gets a solid 4 stars, but service brings the overall experience down to a 3. The grilled gator was excellent as were the pasta dishes. The gator was perhaps a tad spicy but still great. The excellent bread pudding is some of the best I've had in Houston. They don't have martinis on the menu but I ordered an extra dirty one which the bartender could make and I give them 10 stars for giving me those big o olives!! First timer here and the companion has been here a few times. Like 15 times. We ordered two catfish and shrimp combo's. I'm not really a fan of butterfly shrimp and missed that in the description but it was cool. Fried well. Could've been seasoned a bit more. The catfish was fried well and very peppery. I would've like more seasoning but ok‍ The dirty rice was mid according to the companion. My corn was over. You can see from the pic the way it pulled from the cob. Disaster. I ordered the stuffed flounder. The fish was ok but tasteless, thanks to Razoos fire mouth sauce I could eat it. The rice was overcooked, the stuffing was like paste. I couldn't eat those. the green beans tasted ok with the bacon in them but they were from a can and almost baby food consistency. My wife had a Cajun pasta. Her opinion is worse than mine. She ate the seafood in it with the help of the fire mouth sauce. Service was good. Reception at the entrance was friendly and waitress was friendly. Ambiance of the restaurant was also good. Razzoos makes you scream, "yahoo!" In a good way. This restaurant is located in between Stafford, 59, and the outskirts of Sugarland. The area best known as The Fountains, when driving on 59, its impossible to miss the beautiful fountains, and the decor outside that screams Cajun with the light-up Razzoo's sign. We actually came here late on New Years eve, as many restaurants were closed and we wanted to get some delicious New Orleans food before the year ended. Surprisingly, (or maybe not surprisingly), not many people were in the restaurant on the eve of a holiday at around 9pm. The staff and servers were all very friendly, and the decor inside the restaurant was absolutely spectacular. It definitely gives you that iconic Cajun Vibe. There is plenty of seating too. One of the first things I noticed was the prices seemed pretty descent, and much more affordable to the other Cajun restaurants that are big in Houston (cough...cough...think Pappadeaux right across the freeway). We ordered the Crispy Fried Gator Tail, which came with fries, and some delicious Shrimp Etouffee which was served with some garlic bread. Yahoo! I went to Razoos in stafford to get my crawfish fixings and they were delicious. I went on a sunday and was happy the place was not overly crowded. Upon entering, i was seating by host so the wait was not long. I was seated at a booth in which was perfect for me because i needed elbow room for what was about to go down . The server i had name was Michael, and they were very nice and checked on mutiple time s during my visit. They had a crawfish special that day,and i knew at that point it was almost time to get down. I ordered the crawfish in mild flavor. I also ordered their wings with ranch. The drink i had was a scarlet storm . When that plate came full of crawfish , my taste buds were about to jump out if my mouth. I requested extra napkins because i just knew i was about to make a mess. I broke the tail of that bab boy and the juice was just dripping flavor . The taste of the crawfish was so good. the flavor reminds me of the traditional crawfish from new orleans , you dont get all the "fancy"flavor options . just simple crawfish and they were sooo delicious. Ordered 2 cups of Gumbo Chicken & Andouille. 2 cups of Seafood Gumbo... A huge miss on flavor. You call yourselves a Cajun Restaurant. No way. The roux tasted like tomato base and the celery was cut so big you had to chew it. The onions were cut so big that when you took a bite into your Gumbo, they were slimy. When you are making Gumbo, The Cajun holy trinity recipe calls for one part white onion, one part green bell pepper, and one part celery. Never use tomato in a roux based Gumbo. Tomatoes are for Spaghetti. Whoever your Chef is, needs to be fired, because you are stealing people's money. We order one thing and get something totally different. I am so disappointed. read more

Decided to stop by recently for a quick dinner for two after work on a weekday. It was my first time there, and I really loved it. It didn't take long before we were seated. Our server was really nice, and the food tasted great. We got the chicken and sausage gumbeaux, boudin balls, grilled oysters, fried butterflied shrimp platter, and shrimp cajun etoufee. The foods were slightly too salty (especially the etoufee) but overall pretty delicious besides the saltiness. I also got the strawberry lemonade, which was pretty good as well. Not the best Cajun food I have had but it was a decent option for an after movie drink. Our server was spacey. He took half our orders and started to walk away when we asked him a question. We told him we weren't finished ordering when he turned but said he would be right back. It took him a long time to return and then was surprised when we told him weren't finished ordering when he walked away. I just wanted a snack so I had a bowl of gumbo and tried the boudin balls and shared them. I did not like the sauce that came with the boudin balls. It tasted like gravy. They should have a remoulade sauce. The only thing they had close to it was the sauce that comes with the hush puppies. The seafood gumbo was decent but lacked depth of flavor. I had to add hot sauce to elevate it a bit. Can't say that I was enticed to come back for the food. The drink was good tho. Maybe just a happy hour place if you're already in the area. When I feel like a bit of an animal, I come here, and put the Zoo in Razoo. This is a Cajun food place and it's not bad. If you've been to New Orleans or found some of the other Cajun heaven hidden gems around Houston, then you could end up giving this a two-star rating, but based on this kind of big box Cajun place that is a little overpriced and more geared towards the Applebee's crowd than the I-want-it-to-be-like-the-best-secret-cheap-spot-in-The-Big Easy crowd, this one actually has pretty good food and it's tasty enough where I would definitely give it 4 stars. I went to Razzo's once a long time ago on a date and I remember being impressed with the food, the bread pudding was very memorable. I decided to get the delicious peach bread pudding again and to negate the calories I ordered a delicious Ceasar salad! I also ordered the large strawberry lemonade. The Ceasar salad is alright. It wasn't bad but it begs for more parmesan cheese and black pepper. I added my own to it and it was delicious. The strawberry lemonade is sweet and tart. I added a small amount of ice water and it was perfection! I ordered it without ice so it wouldn't be watered down. The peach bread pudding with rum sauce was delightful!
