I came to visit RC Automotive because of a repair accident that occurred at another repair shop. Even though it was late afternoon like 6 p.m. when I first visited, Ken welcomed me warmly without showing any discomfort, and he explained the condition of my vehicle and the necessary repairs in great detail and with honesty, which gave me a great sense of trust. What I found particularly impressive was that he did not simply stop at repairing the car, but also took the time to think together about the issues that came from the previous repair accident as if it were his own matter. I was also very satisfied with how he did not recommend unnecessary repairs and accurately addressed only the necessary parts, and how he suggested reasonable options when it came to parts. The work was carried out very cleanly, and although the vehicle was already in good condition before the accident, it is now in an even better state. Ken also provided a separate warranty for the work that was done, and afterward actively checked on the condition and helped with continuous follow-up management. Since my first visit, I have visited several more times, but not once have I doubted his professionalism and skill. When Raul & Cindy sold their shop, I was disappointed as I had always received excellent service from them. However, I decided to give the new owner, Ken, a try. Glad I did because as it turns out, Ken is the all-around best mechanic I've ever had the pleasure to deal with. His service is always above and beyond the call of duty, and always with absolute honesty. He does a great job and stands behind all his work. When the wiring harness on my 95 500SL disintegrated, I searched the dealerships which no longer carry it. I searched the aftermarket guys in Germany who it turns out no longer makes them. I was just on the verge of scrapping the car when Ken offered to build a wiring harness by hand at a reasonable price, which he did build. My car has never run better in 20 years! The dealer said my BMW needed a brake fluid flush and a new battery. I called Ken and he checked my fluid and said it was clean as a whistle so no need to spend the money to change it. I did buy a new battery from the dealer and had him install and register it for me. He gave me a quote for a very good price, but when I arrived and he saw that my car was a convertible, which I remembered I did mention it to him, he said it was a lot more labor, but he still honored his original quote! He also told me I didn't need to change the battery yet, that the dealer was trying to make more money off of me, but then I already bought the battery. Learned my lesson. What a great mechanic shop that I have been looking for many years! It's been hard to find a great mechanic shop since I moved to Corona which is not far from Yorba Linda. I found this shop through my friend when I had a ten years old van that had multiple issues. The owner, Ken checked throughly all issues and showed me all details so I understood how severe it is. I ended up buying a used Lexus GX460 instead of repairing all upcoming repairs of the van. And he checked throughly GX460 again and repaired brakes and rotors which I need immediately. I know just enough about cars to know to find someone you trust to do the tough stuff. I also like to do the simple things myself. They get all of that and are wonderful people and good at what they do also. I started with a smog check last weekend. It was done timely and with great personality. I decided to schedule a brake job and an oil change as life has gotten crazy and doing it myself is a crunch. I was able to schedule it for a day I could drop the car off. They called me once they had confirmed it needed the brakes done, gave me the quote and asked for permission. I gave it and they were done in roughly an hour and called me to let me know. The car drives wonderfully. They were personable and gave great customer service. Ken at RC was incredible. Unless you're an expert yourself, you never really know about auto repair places, right? Are they screwing you over or not? Well I can say with absolute confidence that RC is on the up and up. My internet fueled self-diagnosis was way off. Ken told me he'd check everything out but he honestly didn't think the repair was as extensive as I feared. He let me know he wouldn't know for certain until he got into the repair, but he was hopeful. My cynical self assumed that would be where the bait and switch would come in. Nope. I went to RC Automotive based on all the great yelp reviews. Boy was I glad I came here. First off I had received several quotes for my brakes, and AC service that were super expensive. I even went to one place that I made an appointment with and after two hours they called me back and said they needed my car for two days just to look at it and inspect it. Finally I made my way to RC Automotive where I was greeted by Ken, he was super helpful and gave pricing within 10 minutes of looking at my truck. I didn't need an appointment he just told me to bring my car back within an hour and he would take care of it. He did exactly what he promised and got my car working and back to normal within a couple of hours, Not a couple days as others needed. Not only that I asked him since he was working on my car to do an oil change and he did it free of charge. When I asked him why he said well your already spending a lot of money so it's not a big deal I will just take care of it for you. Whattttt! No one has ever done anything remotely as nice especially in the automotive industry. I also told him I was going for smog check and I wanted to make sure there were no problems with the car before I smog it and he plugged it into his diagnostic machine and told me it's perfectly fine and ready for smog completely free of charge. Again whatttt! Most people charge you for a diagnostic $90+. This guy is awesome and honest. Super rare, I have new a place where I will be taking all my cars to. I am not much of a review kind of person but when I review it's because that person or business went above and beyond what they needed to do in order to give me the best service they possibly could. Raul is a nice, honest, down to earth mechanic. Had trouble at the next door Smog only place, and popped over to Raul to ask how much he would charge to look into the issue. He looked at it right there on the spot, gave me some ideas on how to solve the issue, and didn't even charge me. Brought the car back to him later on when the issue got worse and he charged a very fair price. I appreciated how he didn't go to the most expensive solution until trying some cheaper alternatives. This is the cheapest place to get a smog test done as well, and he won't charge you if it doesn't pass! His wife Cindy works the front desk and is also very helpful.
