Since I was staying at the Marriott and there aren't too many food options in the area, I ended up getting breakfast at this hotel every day for a week. I generally like to read the paper at breakfast so I opted for going to the River City Grille instead of ordering room service. Maybe because I wake up late or because everyone gets room service or because you would only stay at Hoffman Estates for business, the restaurant is never crowded. Luckily for me, that means the service is incredibly attentive and the food comes out fast! True to Midwestern style, they serve hearty, generous portions that will definitely fill you up. The hash browns are very fried, there is meat in most of the menu items, and when the omelette has melted cheese inside, it's far from a delicate amount sprinkled on top. You're going to get as much cheese as you want and then some. But as long as you aren't vegan, the food is pretty good. The Broken Yolk Sandwich, in particular, is delicious. And the Frittata, which is supposed to be a healthier option, is also good and comes without the tempting fried potatoes. Service is quick and friendly and all in all, River City Grille is a solid hotel breakfast spot (I can't speak to lunch or dinner).

The bread was fresh, warm and so soft! Was a great start. My entire i ordered something I had never had before. The Wild Dover Sole with a side of asparagus. When the Dover Sole comes out from the kitchen it's met by your server who then debones the entire fish table side. It's a nice little show. Now the fish itself! AMAZING! So light and flavorful. It's served with brown butter and shaved marcona almonds. The asparagus some with a romesco sauce which makes it the perfect partner for the fish. For dessert we shared the White chocolate mousse cake that comes with a raspberry sauce to pour over. This was one of the best meals I can remember in a long time. We will be back again!

Friendly and informative. Our server (whose name I forgot. Sorry!) was on her game. Being first timers, I always like to give the server an opportunity to elaborate on the menu. She did a great job of highlighting some of the items and made a few suggestions, but not overly pushy. We had the grass fed wagyu ribeye and the French dip. Both were exceptional in flavor. Cooked to perfection. The Kumamoto oysters were equally delicious. Tender, succulent and mild in taste. To top it off our server provided a couple of extra treats that were really appetizing. Will definitely return when in the area.

We ordered some drinks (no one got alcohol) and some appetizers. We got the Low Carb Yuka Fries and while that is not my bag, they were good. I was pleasantly surprised. We also had the roasted red pepper spread, which everyone enjoyed. Two of us ordered the Ultimate Steak Sandwich. I opted to removed the caramelized onions. The other person let them on. I also removed the garlic herb sauce but replaced it with a chimichurri sauce. That really kicked it up a notch and was good for dipping the fries in. They're fresh cut fries, so they were good on their own, but the chimichurri again kicked it up a notch. We also ordered the chicken bowl, the avocado salad, and the Greek style lamb chops. We all loved our food and were too full for dessert. It's a quaint little place, cozy for intimate conversation or a night out with family and friends. I think the night was made a little more fun when a couple came in and was seated at a counter height table and were making out all night. It was a lot and gratuitous. The table next to them were visibly uncomfortable and that made it all the more enjoyable to witness. Dinner and a show. Who knew?

I feel like it changes, so maybe call beforehand to confirm. I only got pics of the nachos this time, which really doesn't do it full justice because they're bigger than they look in the photo. Food is always good and consistent, there's nothing really to complain about regarding service or prices, and parking has always been really easy, though that could be because we typically go on Tuesdays. I imagine weekends could be a little bit busier, but the place is pretty big, so even if you have to wait, I don't think that you'd be waiting that long. The vibe is also casual and low-key.

I had been here with my daughter about 12 years ago and remembered enjoying it then. We all had burgers and craft beer. My friends went with the Mad Max (burger of the month) and I went with a peppercorn and blue cheese burger. It was thumbs up for all of us on the burgers as well as the beer, which was unique and delicious. I took no pictures that day and just enjoyed the outing with friends, but I was especially impressed with the taste of my burger. I abstained from adding any of my usual condiments, and decided to try it as is, with just their sauce. Best decision ever! The sauce was amazing and the burger was cooked a perfect medium. Like many restaurants, Luck Monk offers their regular menu, plus flyers on their specials, including beers and cocktails. Four days later, I went right back there again on my own, to formally review it with photos. I had to go with that same peppercorn burger, because it was just so good, and to make sure the first time was a fluke. It wasn't. I tried out their chili as well, which was also good. This chef knows what he is doing. This stand alone restaurant is easy to get to, and has ample parking. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and looks high end, though I found the pricing to be reasonable. It would be a great spot to take clients for a business lunch. It's elegant looking , but unpretentious. The hostess and servers are wonderful. I highly recommend the Lucky Monk!

We have an autistic son, and the team here has always been patient, kind, and very aware of our needs. That level of understanding means so much to families like ours and makes dining out a truly enjoyable experience. The food is absolutely delicious. The steak is incredible juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly every time. It honestly rivals some of the best steakhouses we've been to and no I'm not afraid to admit that. The salad bar has tons of fresh options, so there is something for everyone, and everything is well stocked and presented beautifully. Now then sangria is fantastic. The waiter was fine, just not overly helpful when asking about dishes and drink options. We ordered calamari as an app, which was a joke because it came with 5 pieces of calamari and the rest of the dish was filled with nonsense fried lemons and olives. We asked for bread, never got it. I ordered the seared ahi tuna and it was terrible, just a pile of sloppy rice with large chunks of egg and the tuna thrown on top. The waiter only came back once because someone else brought the food out, so where we likely would have ordered more drinks we did not. In all fairness my partner said the pork shank was incredible. Probably won't go back because at that price point we would expect better service and quality. The ambiance is beautiful and the restaurant is dark and lovely. It's a shame the quality and experience isn't the same as it once was.
